Yeah, I was really dissapointed by the way Pyro was done. Not only was he an angsty punk, but also, he had that thing attached to is wrist that like, enhanced his fire.

One billion b-balls dribbling simultaneously throughout the galaxy. One trillion b-balls being slam dunked through a hoop throughout the galaxy. I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips. I can feel their collective knowledge channeling through my viens. Haven't seen the movie, but I've heard it stinks to high hell.

I've seen it twice already. It certainly doesn't stink to high hell. If you're too attatched to your precious comics then you might not like it. As someone who is more familiar with X-men lore more than the average Joe (but I'm far from a know-it-all), the movie works perfectly. Did they take some artistic liscense? Sure, but you have to when you've only got one (hell, even three) movie to cram everything in.

All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

I also kinda didn't like how they combined Quicksilver and Caliban together and called her Callisto.

Pyro has never, to my knowledge, been able to create fire.  In the comics, the cartoon and the movies he can only manipulate it.

CORRECT! In every form of media Pyro wears a flamethrower to allow him to produce flames. Usually he's knocked from a fight by the flamethrower either being damaged or destroyed.

I would have liked ANY Kitty/Colossus scenes. In this it was all about iceman and rogue.

If they have another movie they BETTER have havok!

Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition!

Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.

But "movie psylocke" seem to have some sort of chameleon power rather that being a telepat? In the scene where they capture Warthington and his assistant

It has nothing to do with "my precious comics." In fact, I hate most comics.

If what everyone (and I mean everyone I know) says is true, its all flash no substance. Call me crazy, but I'd like a little character development in my stories. Everyone has told me that the movie tried so hard to jam pack everyone they conceivably could in this movie. They tried so hard that they didn't even develop any of the characters beyond "this is your name, this is your power, you're on this side. Action!"

I didn't think the first two X-Men movies were very good, and by most accounts this is worse.

Yeah, then I don't think you'd enjoy the third one. Why would you expect otherwise?

I didn't find it worse than the other two. I think it may be better (perhaps due to "newness") simply because I found it more fun.

This movie sucks. To clarify about me: I don't buy nor read X-universe comics, only have the entire of Grant Morrison's run (in trades) and JOss Whedon's first arc (also in trade). I bought into Morrison's New X-men because the title actually felt New. And I like him, so...

With that out of the way, I have to say that the movie blows. Why? Too many unecessary deaths, underused characters billed as main, two main plots that remain completely unrelated and are never tied up together in any way. And they remain completely underdeveloped. And last, but not least, the "last stand" battle sucked major @$$. Why? The Brotherhood was composed of 100+ 'mutants,' out of which only 5-6 actually used any powers. They did'nt even looked different! It actually played out like a large streetfight, not a 'war.' (Same thing with mutant protestors, they were just random extras. What happen with the really f-ed up mutations? At least paint someone red or green or have someone glowing fer christ sakes...) Oh, and what's up wit magneto's sentries at the forest, carrying shotguns and stuff? For a second I thought I was at a Van Damme film...

Oh yeah, never mind that 'evil mutants' actually mean dressing up in a goth-industrial-punk manner. Steriotypes at work.

I have said enough in this post, so I'm signing off.

One last thing, "I'm doing it for you. Because I love you." Ok, how about Cyclops actually saying this? That would be believable since he's F-ING JEAN GREY'S LOVE AS EXPLICITLY STATED IN X1 AND X2 (nevermind the comics, this actually breaks the movie canon!).

Just because I don't think a movie is "very good" doesn't mean I think it is "bad."

I enjoyed the first two, mostly because there was emotional porn. Characters were developped, and there was some interesting interactions between the characters. I saw the movies because people ranted about how great they were. I watched them and thought they were good, but not very good, certainly not great.

In contrast, most people (at least most I know) seem to hate this movie. They all comment on how unbelievably shallow the character development is. How dull the story is, and how unbelieveable it is (as in disbelief, not as in "ZOMG AWESOME").

Plus, I'm convinced that if Gandolf and Picard had babies, they would be the coolest people alive.

I have to disagree with Jags but I think that is mainly because IMO it fell far short of what it could have been... that and the crummy special effects and the

throwaway deaths

.

I couldn't agree more.

I thought

Rogue

was going to save the day; then again it is perfectly clear that the

"cure"

was only

temporary, especially after the two last scenes

. Cue

the return of Rogue, Mystique, Magneto et alia

for the sequels.

Which one was

Psylock

, btw?

And at least youtube led me to a show worse than the 60s SM cartoons.

Be warned , this link will rot your brain.  Rot your brain I tell you!!!

With that out of the way, I have to say that the movie blows. Why?

Too many unecessary deaths,

I agree with that; less can often be more: it was suspiciously like the body count was added to make up for the lack of cohesion in the plot.

underused characters billed as main, two main plots that remain completely unrelated and are never tied up together in any way.

That's not a fault: an ethical dilemma does not have a "right" and "wrong" answer.

You don't recall the comment (by Callisto) about the magification of mutation? (It was a major theme, what with Jean Grey being the only "category five", and Magneto and Pyro being the only ones in the church that were "category three" or above.)

It makes sense in a bell curve distribution that most of the population are only moderately affected.

Oh yeah, never mind that 'evil mutants' actually mean dressing up in a goth-industrial-punk manner. Steriotypes at work.

Wow, you really have a lot to learn about relationships! (You should have restrained yourself from that last comment.)

You do realise that more than one person can love another AT THE SAME TIME, right? And it is possible to love more than one person at the same time, right? (E.g. it is possible to love both a mother AND a father at the same time.)

Hint: the intertron is your friend.

I think psylocke was supposed to be the girl with arclight who went into the facility...

as for the class of mutants? think of it this way

class 1, you've got an extra toe

Class 2, WHeeee you can fly/breath underwater.

class 3, you've got a primary mutation that sucks more out of the person but has more of a bang.

class 4. Magneto and Charles and prettymuch the entire cast of primary characters fit in here.

Class 5 Oh sweet jesus run like heck because we ain't gonna survive to see the next dawn.

Class 6, Phoenix (comics version (eats stars for breakfast)) and Externals, apocolypse... you get the idea

In the comics, the overpowered mutants are classified as Omega-Level, these include Franklin Richards, Jean Grey, Bobby Drake(Yes, Iceman is in the same league as Jean Grey. Apparently if he felt like it he could freeze the entire world), etc.

I liked the movie but theres a WTF moment and that being killing off some of the main characters? WTF? They killed off the core members of the group. I don't like that at all.

Also in the credits I see the names:

Omega Red

Psylocke

Jubilee

Yet I don't recall seeing them. Unless they were in for a second.

Psylocke was with spiky face boy when they entered the facility to get Leech. She came through the wall. Asian girl with purple streaks in her hair.

Jubilee was probably one of the kids at the mansion.

I'm guessing Omega Red was at the last battle as one of the many nondescript bad guys.

Omega Red was probably cut out. Over at SuperHeroHype, here's some of the cut content they've noticed so far:

- Colossus vs Juggernaut (confirmed thanks to a small excerpt of a magazine and Kinberg)

- Storm's Tidal Wave (As seen in the trailer)

- Jeans Firebird manifestation (Confirmed by Kinberg / Zakk)

- Xaviers speech about Angels and Demons (As heared in the trailer)

- Logans speech towards Bobby (As seen in the trailer: "You go to war, you might not come home, she might not come home, you think of that?" Iceman's response was "We're not kids anymore.")

---

- Bobby and Kitty kissing (As seen on leaked photo's)

- The Sentinel reveal (according to IGN)

- Trask having a larger role (Confirmed in a magazine)

- Psylocke's PSI Blade (Confirmed by Kinberg)

- Rogue's mother (Confirmed! She was cast )

- Wolverine at the bar from X1 (Confirmed! Bartender from X1 was cast)

- Angel in the end-battle kicking other mutants asses  As said by Ben Foster)

Extended DVD anyone? ;)
