Movies you've seen lately

For someone who hates everything he doesn't like you sure could learn a lot from Hollywood.

By exporting and franchising our crappy films, we have made the majority of the population like them, when the majority of the population likes something, you get more of it. Geez.

What was the twist in Saw? I dont remember it, was it the indentity of the orchestrator of events? If so how did you guess that 5 min into the film?

'cause for some reason I'm good at predicting plot twists. Kind of a cursed gift really, since it takes the surprise out of lots of films. I saw KotOR coming, I saw Fight Club coming, I even saw bloody The Sixth Sense coming...

One of the few films that actually took me by surprise was Basic. I was able to foresee it up until the second last twist. I never saw the last one coming. But that film was a bit over the top concerning plot twists.

Lets see, over my x-mas break I watched:

The Island: Just ok. Youre right about surviving that fall though LC, that was stupid.

The Cronicles of Narnia: Not bad. Liked the battle and all to strange critters. Too long.

Four Brothers: So f-ing stupid even I couldnt get over it.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose: Dunno. Fell asleep half way through.

It has made me the man I am today. A man who craves furry hentai.

The Professional...love that one.

Sin City...that was interesting. Not exactly great, but interesting.

-war of the worlds

pretty good i guess... the cg stuff was pretty, but it didn't soothe my apetite for a good story.

- i read 1984

i picked it up in the "literature" section of the book store, and considering that i didn't have a copy of my own, and that it is highly esteemed by critics, i purchased the book and read it. um, good book.

Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, pretty good but not as good Park's prior to works in the trilogy.

"For ourselves, we shall not trouble you with specious pretences- either of how we have a right to our empire because we overthrew the Mede, or are now attacking you because of wrong that you have done us- and make a long speech which would not be believed; and in return we hope that you, instead of thinking to influence us by saying that you did not join the Lacedaemonians, although their colonists, or that you have done us no wrong, will aim at what is feasible, holding in view the real sentiments of us both; since you know as well as we do that right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must."

March of the Penguins. Man oh man are the baby chicks cute. Almost as cute as puma cubs. Almost. Very good documentary film.

P.S. Morgan Freeman's narration helped a lot...he has one of the best narrator voices.

I watched the extended version of Sin City last night. The second disk has the four stories seperated unto themselves with a few extra minutes tacked on. It was better than the original cut, which I will be watching later on today with some commentary or maybe even the audience applause track, which is added for some strange reason.

And I also picked up a copy of the '78 remake of Invasion Of The Body Snatchers. Pod people for teh win!!!

40 year old virgin, unrated (that's all they had on the shelf, heh)

The first 2 minutes was sooooooo funny....the rest was cute and amusing, but not quite so belly-laugh inducing.

I thought the beginning of that show was priceless:
