Unless they up the difficulty tenfold by putting in a better AI I don't see the point of playing it.

Sadly enough, raising the difficulty only seems to increase the skill check DC's and damage received. No variance in AI, whatsoever...

Yeah, I know. Its the AI that makes or breaks a game. In KotOR 2's case its broken.

prolly for the mods only tho. also depends what new etra stuff is in there

I wasn't an Xbox owner before Kotor II but I too couldn't wait for the PC version. Now I wish I hadn't fallen for the console side of the game. Fear not because I am not beyong redemption though: in my heart I will always be a PC gamer.

Is Kotor 2 really that a big dissapointment?

There are some good moments throught it and I have a LOT of admiration for Obsidian's ideas. A lot of ideas are great and I wish they had time to completely develop them and make them bug free. At the beginning the game is a lot of fun and as you progress more flaws appear. It is knowing what the game could have been that is disapointing. Also Kotor II suffers the comparison with Kotor that was a great game and a lot more polished and gratifying. Kotor II isn't a BAD game. There are many hours of playing and in the beginning, the excitement I felt in antitcipation of what was to come was over what I had felt in Kotor. It just feels unfinished, which is frustrating.

There's still hope.... for the PC version

At least in theory.... :p

I think KOTOR:2 is vastly superior to KOTOR in a variety of ways.

Won't know till I play it :p

Come on PC version :)

Hm. That's a comment I would expect from Hades only. I mean, an unbalanced game mechanics doesn't necessarily imply a worse or unenjoyable game. K1 was ridiculously easy. The same seems to apply to K2. So, it seems both games are matched in that respect.

I don't know if you have actually played the game, but I will refrain from doing blind judgements until I try it for myself.

Well, if the game is balanced, what

i dunno if it'll be good, but i think i'll like it. that's good enough for me.

Words of wisdom :-

Munchkinism?

Munchkinism?

Rampant powermongering at expense of everything else. Oooooo...

*cough*

Scuse me, not sure what came over me there...

It is the worst and most unfun form of gaming. Games that have such stupidity make me sick and ashamed of being a gamer.

You can be a rampant powerlamer in almost any RPG. That's fine with me for as long as it's not forced upon me.

Well, it is forced on you in the KotOR games.

technically, is it really though? you aren't forced to level up or forced to choose certain force powers or feats. not to mention that if you play throughout as a "neutral" character you dont even get access to the prestige classes.

When leveling up is a major part of character development and showing your character's experience, it is forced. Not leveling is an artificial control and metagaming and metagaming is just as bad as munchkin gaming.

Well, yes. Call it poor game balance, but it surely brings fun to many players. If you don
