Assuming our news coverage is correct, by now Lula's leading by more votes than Bolsanaro could realistically still get. Good on you Brazilians, did you bring unmarked white vans with extra ballots and manipulated some voting machines too?

Should have stopped the steal earlier. :p

Jokes aside, I hope nobody's going to try and pull a Trump, but with Bolsanaro that is far from a given.

I've seen some reports of police stopping vehicles in places to slow down the vote. With that in mind, the way I see Bolsonaro could pull out a win is pulling something nasty. I'd like to say there's not a chance of that happening but these days you have to wonder.

You make good points

But maybe [screeching noises from the void between the stars] ?

They tried that, having the police slow people on their way to voting. But even the Supreme Court said it was nothing serious.

A couple of days ago Bolsonaro tried to cause some trouble claiming that the radios were not showing his material, only Lula's. It's a mandatory election advertisement here in Brazil. But it seems it happened only in a few small towns and seriously, who watches these things anymore? Today you can just go watch/listen to something on the internet instead. But who knows, he might cling to that.

Lula is not radical. You should see some of the other guys we have here. There is a far left party that is so far that it is almost right wind. They are anti-capitalism and they complained when Trump was banned from twitter. confused.png.32c5d2a072ecd70d1035086796733a11.png

The Japanese, at the very least.

Spoiler

By that I mean the language allows for concepts that originated from a radio transmittion to be 'watched', in a literal translation it means to see something 'in' the radio. :p

Sorry. :)

Six years past our supreme court annulled an entire election based on irregularities that happened during the counting of the mail-in ballots. The irregularities amounted to less than the total lead of the winning candidate, so even if they all had been manipulated in favor of the winner of the election and all of them would have gone to the other candidate instead (which was highly unlikely with an almost even 50:50 split), he would still have won.

What kind of irregularities you might ask? Why, they were counted on Election-Sunday, while election regulations state they must be counted on the Monday after. Which some smaller districts opted not to do because there the counters have actual day jobs and aren't full time politicians. All the counts were signed off by members of the losing party's candidate, and the party elected to throw the signees stating that regulations were upheld under the bus and file for annulment (causing cases to be opened against people whose 'crime' was counting votes earlier than allowed, with full knowledge of the parties in question and auditors of every party present).

Early counting of mail-in ballots has always been done, and every party knew it, and everyone was happy with the way it worked, until it became convenient to have a close election repeated. The voters proceeded to thank them for having to vote again.

He also said fun things like he'd want his son to have a fatal accident if he were gay, and that Maria do Rosário isn't worth raping because she's so ugly. Wonderful human being, that guy. I'm pretty sure that Trump and Bolsanaro whack off to pictures of each other.

Brazilian election: about 60% of the votes counted so far. Lula is about to overtake Bolsonaro. The left always has more votes in the end, probably because of rural areas in the northeast that take longer to submit the votes. I really don't see how Bolsonaro could win.

Well done for the Brazilian people and their enthusiasm around these elections

Democracy has spoken, now is the time to accept these results and start fixing the social and economic problems in Brazil

Bolsonaro will have another chance in a few years 8)

MEANWHILE IN AUSTRALIA

Probs no one else has been following the Australian netball squad story; the Diamonds were sponsored by Han**** (I think that's what they're called) which is owned by Gina Rinehart, Australia's richest woman and one of the worst living Australians. Their business is, generally speaking, destroying the earth. Anyway, the founder, for whom the company is named, once suggested aboriginal Australians should be sterilised, amongst other things, so one of the Diamonds, who would've been the first aboriginal player on the team in 22 years, was hesitant to wear his name on her uniform. There was some back and forth, with the other Diamonds backing her, but also kinda needing the money because women's sport doesn't tend to make much money. Eventually Han**** withdrew their 15 million sponsorship while saying something passive aggressive about virtue signalling or whatever.

Anyway, Victoria tourism is now sponsoring them, which is much less awful as they only have to sell the lie that Victoria is a good place to visit, rather than wear the name of a dude who expressed genocidal views about aboriginal Australians, and support a company that seeks to destroy the earth and lie about it.

EDIT: oh dammit the overzealous censor strikes again.

Why are there so many people in Oz who want to destroy the earth? Its like many of your politicians. Remember Morrison, he didnt care about the planet either?

Bolsonaro's supporters (mostly truckers) started blocking roads on Sunday and the police didn't act against it until today, when the Supreme Court ordered them to do it. It shouldn't have been required, of course.

Bolsonaro has "disappeared" since the results of the election were announced. This doesn't look good. People are wondering if he will contest the election or if he is simply refusing to announce that Lula won. But I think he is waiting to see how big the protests are to decide what to do. If he feels he has enough support, who knows what he can do. Luckily the situation seems to be getting better.

It  was predicted this outcome from some of the Bolsonaro supporters, they cant accept the reality of losing

The instability will get less and his supporters will have to accept it, what are the alternatives? I cant see civil war occuring in Brazil. Protests and anger but not civil war?

It won't get to that. The police doesn't get to the point of disobeying the Supreme Court, so at worst they will start arresting people and the others will disperse.

How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart.

In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.
