Warning - animated blood and violence

so, kinda like a robot chicken skit, but turned into a full series wherein a whole lotta money is spent to make the stop-action aspects look like something from a tim burton film instead o' an adult swim show?

am seeing they finally gave the nathan fillion as wonderman rumors life, and am conceding we have a hard time not laughing at patton oswalt performances, so am gonna give it a fair viewing at some point. am just wondering how seth green and matt senreich is reacting.

HA! Good Fun!

Falcon and Winter Söldner. Finally all caught up. I feel like Marvel always makes sure to make revolutionary villains do something irredeemably evil to undercut them.

anyone else think Emily VanCamp might be the Power Broker? Also, new Cap doesn't seem to have been able to pass a psych exam as obvious PTSD is obvious.

Well

Spoiler

it was the obivous. Sharon Carter.

New details have been revealed for The Continental, the John Wick spinoff series that takes place 40 years before the films, including that Keanu Reeves will not be making an appearance.

Lionsgate Television chairman Kevin Beggs told Deadline that the new prequel series will focused on a younger version of Ian McShane's Winston, and will be set in 1970s New York City.

"What we’re exploring in The Continental is the young Winston and how it came to be that he and his team of confederates found their way into this hotel which we have met for the first time in the movie franchise 40 years later." Beggs explained.

It's too simple of a show. The secret bad guy is almost always someone they've already introduced.

Haven't seen the episode yet so I should have more to say later.

"The Inner Light" TNG

Another strong story. It was a poignant tale. I did expect Picard to ask when he finally reawakened about why Riker and Crusher left him lying on the floor for 20 minutes, though. 😄

How low do the ratings have to get on these award shows before they are taken off the air? Or relegated to E TV? Just curious.

It'll probably be a few more years before it comes to that.  They'll need at least one more year to see if 2021's ratings crash is a trend or not.

It really needs to change the format. They want it to be this glamorous night where we get a peak at all the people behind the movie magic. But there is nothing really mysterious  about celebrities anymore. We see them all the time now. We have constant access to their lives. Ricky Gervais made it into a mockery, rightly so, and you can't go back to taking it seriously.

It should either be a simplified way of recognizing those who work in the industry, or it should focus way more on the behind the scenes action. Like go deep on the nooks and crannies of the studio lots. We have enough access to the stars, I want to know more about the key grip.

am thinking it will take a while for reality to crack the façade so painstakingly erected over decades.

Yeah, I'd be a lot more willing to watch a dive into costume and set design or photography direction or even editing than whatever these award shows are doing now.

@Hurlshot & KP, that was a really great idea. One thing I always liked about the DVDs were the “making of“ features that come with it. Showing the special effects guys and how they do what they do how the costume designers work all of that is pretty cool. But like shady said it will never sell. Too bad.

Making my way through Shadow and Bone on Netflix today and it's taking everything I've got. Taking a break from all this YA sure would help a lot.

One and a half episodes, doubt I'll come back to it.

lol, just got a mail that Netflix is increasing the prices again. From 15,99€ to 17,99€ now. Starting to wonder if it's still worth it for me.

Netflix is still worth it to me because one, hubby uses it a lot, and two, it has a lot of non-US programming, eg a nice mix in one spot.  Also ... its overall streaming quality (eg, how close I can sit before it starts to look terrible), player UI, and audio, at least for me, are the best. Especially the audio, vs. others.

I watched Stowaway on Netflix.  It's basically a human drama on a ship bound for a Mars mission where success of mission is then threatened, that type of thing. It's not Aliens, it's not Gravity.  Restrained, quiet, perhaps just a tad too long. Maybe could have used a tiny bit more chr. depth or situation tension here and there. But Anna Kendrick (and the other few actors) did a fine job.  I don't think I felt quite as emotionally engaged as the film wanted me to be but it was still pretty decent.  I'd give it, say, a solid B.
