LadyCrimson Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 ^ Yeah, I had one of those notes from my hospital that I was now qualified to make an appointment because I'm a certain level of "high risk" - when I went to the site the first available one was the start of May. >.> Can't pick which brand/company etc. I did flake off a week before trying to make it, maybe I could've gotten one a week earlier if I hadn't. Hardehar. I'm not in a hurry tho ... still don't really want one yet but eh ... while I never go out, hubby does more often and he could bring it home so I suppose I should. That guy from hubby's work recovered/is back, although he said he felt like he was dying (suffocating). He thought about calling the hospital at some point but thought he'd rather die at home (I can relate to that). Anyway, luckily he survived. “Things are as they are. ShadySands Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 My son hit his first jump shot a couple of days ago and I'm still unreasonably proud of what was basically an accident. I mean, he turns 2 later this month (in about 3 weeks) and it was maybe a 2 1/2 foot shot at most but the fact that we was still in the air when he "shot" it makes me stupid happy. In other news I have to take my very good girl to the vet this week as she's developed quite the wound on her thigh. She also has a tumor that needs removing, they've already tested it and it's benign. On top of all that her allergies are coming back strong so I'll need something for that as well. I also ordered a big jar of pickled sausage 3 Free games updated 3/4/21

No you definitely don’t want her on steroids long term. Hopefully the doctor can come up with a solution. Raithe Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 Was starting my usual morning routine, cup of tea, turn on the PC to check things... And the PC wouldn't power on. Checked it a few times, opened it up, ran through the usual suspects. Flick the power switch on back, mouse and keyboard light up, but absolutely no reaction when the main on/off switch was pressed. Couldn't go in-depth since I had to start work. Then several hours later I walk past, pat the top of the PC pondering on what to check when lunch arrives... And the PC turned itself on. 1 "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."

BruceVC Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 One of my brothers is coming with his family to Cpt for 10 days so it should be a good few days of eating at restaurants, having braais\barbeques and then I will be staying with them for 2 days or so next week as they hired out a beach cottage for their extended holiday 1 "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. Raithe Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 Got invited into a DnD campaign thats running via a mix of discord and roll20. It's been running for about a year, and one of the players had to leave for various reasons so my friends invited me into the space created. Had the first session where the rest of the players just assumed they hadn't made it to a point where the DM could bring in my character. They didn't know I was a Ranger/Druid and because of timing, I had been wild-shaped into a big eagle that some key NPCs believed was their spirit guide. The Players all assumed I was the NPCs familiar and overlooked any non-Eagle behaviour. So I sat around, making a few comments, and passing secret messages to the DM. It's all key to making a grand entrance... On other slightly amusing matters, I decided to pick up the Horizon Zero Dawn soundtrack. But weird things afoot. The digital MP3 album is on Amazon for £25, but you can pick up the CD physical album for £12 and that comes with a free autorip of the MP3 album. Tres Bizarre whoever made that decision, but oh well, I'll take it. 2 "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
LadyCrimson Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 (edited) Didn't find any 4k game etc. but I did find one of LG's videos. It looks pretty good on my 1440 IPS monitor, right, nice and clean. Then I shove it over to the OLED TV and it's just "whoah." It is now what I'm going to use as a 15 minute pixel mover wallpaper after a longer gaming session. I need more stuff like this (whether CGI or 'live'), especially rain, because I like rain. Most similar uploads on YouTube are about color vs. blacks and/or has a lack of clarity (way too compressed for 55"). or is "rain on bedroom window" or "rain falling off a roof" where rain is barely visible (because rain is really really hard to capture on video without 'tricks'). Bartimaeus Posted April 11, 2021 Posted April 11, 2021 My sweet little old grandma (late 70s) is in the ER this morning, after waking up being unable to breathe. She refused to get vaccine thanks to the persuasion of one of her idiot daughters (not my mom, thankfully - my mom has been doggedly trying to change her mind to get it, and my mom was one of the very first). Alas, it wasn't meant to be. We'll see if she makes it - given the extremely rapid onset of severe symptoms, I'm not optimistic. I guess here's my reminder that there are still about a thousand people dying a day from this in the U.S. 7 Quote How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart. In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.
