I like the humour in Dungeon of Naheulbeuk. It's an acquired taste for sure, but luckily for me, I acquired it.

Sadly, it doesn't have a built in screenshot action key, so I have to find something better. Maybe that built in feature in Windows 10 can do the job of taking shots during conversations and combat.

As far as combat goes, it's quite well made. Easy to learn and hard to master.

I think my next skill point investment in the party ogre is going to be 'Advanced Murderhoboing'

^  How is Edge of Eternity these days? I remember playing it some a long time ago (kitty!) when it was still early access.  I was kind of liking it although it was occasionally clunky.  Then I must've been distracted or decided to wait for more updating and ...  I guess it's full release just recently?  Maybe I'll download it again.

It's full release but the game will still get a lot of updates it seems. I'm more a dog person but I'm happy I can ride giant cats.

The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

My nemesis has a name at last! The deity behind The Amulet of Chaos, which has cursed my party, is none other than the God of Fail

Unobtrusively informing you about my new ebook (which you should feel free to read and shower with praise).

At an early point in the game, you have to make a binding choice, which of three candidates becomes your 8th party member. A paladin, a bard or a priestess. I went with the high and mighty upper class snob priestess... I still wish I could cart her over the edge to a long, slow, plummeting death. She really gets on my nerves 😂

At some point, you get a side mission to find her missing cousin Eugene. Turns out he has become a leader of the local cult of Slanoosh, god of perversion. Infiltrating the hidden abode, having made my way past the bouncers. The priestess (or wizardess, one of the two) did warn me, I better go into this with my eyes wide shut (obvious movie reference)

So far it's easily the most upbeat Lovecraftian game I've ever played.

I like the aesthetic. I've long been a proponent of stylized art styles. They generally are less taxing on hardware AND can look better than realistic, provided it's a well realized and consistent aesthetic. As an aside, Nintendo, in particular, have a long history of having some of the best looking games in any generation and often on underpowered hardware, through the power of a great stylized aesthetic.

Our heroine, Norah, is awfully chipper for someone whose husband is missing, has an unknown ailment, is all alone on a mysterious island, and who heard some weird alien (read: Old God) speech in a dream.

Then again, she's on this amazingly lush and vibrant tropical island, which is a far cry from the foggy, dark, and dreary New England fishing villages I'm used to in Lovecraft. Maybe she'll change her tune later on in the game when (presumably) the Cthulhu intensifies.

@Keyrock I sense of worrying lack of tentacles in that game? 🤔

It's a Spanish game, not Japanese. Plus, Norah is a grown woman, not a schoolgirl. :shifty:

This game's great for taking lovely screenies; no cats so far, though, so I doubt I can sell @LadyCrimsonon it.

Pretty decent puzzle variety so far, though I do hope they get more challenging. I did get stuck on 1 puzzle for a bit, but that was down to my own hubris; I thought I figured the puzzle out before I even saw all the clues and then when my "solution" failed, I was so sure I was right that it took time to rewire my brain to see the actual solution.

I feel as if that is almost a "challenge."  The art style is very nice.

Also, that first round of pictures you posted ... I was sitting kind of far away from the screen with tired eyes and at first I thought that white dress was a cat painting/statue or similar.  🤣

Hmm.....it was on sale. I think I can get an infinite health cheat for it, so maybe I can finally just bounce through to admire scenery and take screenshots of things futilely trying to beat on a chr.  Maybe.  😜
