Jumanji 2 is one of the better restarts/reboots/sequels in modern times. It doesn't feel the need to  insult the past  also it is most interested in entertaining the audience not politically preaching. Plus, all the actors do an excellent job even when the material gets over the top silly selling it well. I look forward to Jumanji 3.

Now, nu Charlie Angels preview is disspaointing. I'm one of the minority of people who actually likes Kristin Stewart as an actress but nu CA looks to be epic fail.  People bash the last movie(s0 absed on them but whateves. They were HELLA fun.

Volo...the only reason you like Kristin Stewart as an actress is because she is hoooooot

Thats wrong volo , you mustn't objectify women, thats naziish approach ...you must judge people on there merit and not there looks ;)

I liked the last Jumanji movie. It stands on its own well enough.

Plenty of hot actresses who are attractive but I don't think are good actresses.

Like many porn stars. Not that I watch porn. Just what I've heard.

I watch adult movies sometimes but not because I want to...I do it because Im a nice person and I want to support the porn stars in there jobs. If people like me didnt support there movies they wouldnt have jobs and I dont want people to lose there jobs especially in this difficult climate where retrenchments and job losses occur...so I do as much as I can in my own small way

Im all about the hugz and feelz :teehee:

I watched a movie called the Free State of Jones last night, its based on a true story about a Southerner who basically rebels against the Confederacy. The link above discusses what was fact and fiction in the movie, its a good movie....not great but good and entertaining

Mulan vs Ariel is a hilarious look into modern nonsense.

With Mulan, they want to be super authentic in regards to casting (a good thing) but  with Ariel they lie and claim they were doing 'colour blind casting' even though we knew for awhile they were trying to cast a POC. It is clearly racism.

Looking forward to Mulan looks solid. I'm wondering on the timeline though. Is Mulan skilled at sword play from the start? I'd be disappointed if she is because the training /learning hwo to fight is a huge part of the movie's process.

I thought people said Alita was good. The acting in it was CW level bad (especially the male lead) and the effects looked like PSX graphics...

I thought maybe they were just being contrary because it was getting trashed quite a bit

Solaris (1972) by Andrei Tarkovsky.

I liked it a bit better than Stalker, but it had a lot of similarities. Seemed like a more normal "movie" movie than Stalker, which was nice since Stalker was bordering on "art film" for me.

...Unrelated: Movie poster-making seems like a bit of a lost art these days.

How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart.

In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.

Really enjoyed the new Spider-man. No idea how they made a live action Mysterio so good.

I liked the film but I found Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio a bit distracting. Might just be me but I think I less well known actor (or a less recognizable face perhaps) might have been better.

Rocketman.

Definitely slides into the "musical fantasy" slice more than the biopic.

If you enjoy the music, you'll probably enjoy the film. Taron Egerton does a good job, but given the fantastical way it's all told, doesn't quite inhabit it.  They pretty much push the "not a factually correct biopic" so they can run with the music.

I've got this one framed on the wall:

As for the film, I don't think it's very traditional at all but can see how it's more traditional than Stalker perhaps. Funny enough, it was Tarkovsky's least favorite film amidst his own. I wouldn't agree but the fact that you can feasibly make that claim and defend it goes to show how utterly out of this world his work was. Stunning.

Deathstalker.  That was about as terrible as I expected it to be.
