Bartimaeus Posted June 13 Posted June 13 (edited) @LadyCrimson and I are continuing to have issues...I couldn't even login for like the last two days, cos each time I tried, it gave me that same error I showed in the image above. Well, at least my Steam profile is linked in my account here now in case I can't ever login again and somebody needs to contact me, . Fionavar Posted June 15 Posted June 15 There were some known hiccups this last week that affected a lot of people, including the Big Green (= me ). Are people still having login issues with TFA now? The universe is change; your life is what our thoughts make it - Marcus Aurelius (161)

LadyCrimson Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Just to say, I also do not have 2FA enabled/used - outside of financial institutions I avoid the hassle of it. This is a game forum, I don't need/care/want. I also do not sign in with/do not have a Microsoft account. Or any other type of account so many sites may ask if you want to login with, these days. >.> Didn't have an issue logging in right now, but who knows. 1 “Things are as they are. Chilloutman Posted August 25 Posted August 25 Genuine question. Its bothering me log time but I just realized that 'sign in' does not have button but 'sign up' does and have more pronounced colors and I always miss click on it. Is it some marketing jedi mind trick? I am sure people much more often use 'sign in' than' sign up'. Anyone else is flabbergasted by it or is it just my OCD? 1 I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

Fionavar Posted August 29 Posted August 29 @Chilloutman I have checked with Admin and that is the standard UI for the platform, so likely not possible. Let me know if there is anything else you need The universe is change; your life is what our thoughts make it - Marcus Aurelius (161)

Lexx Posted November 21 Posted November 21 Is it just me or does the forum run terrible again in the last few days? I have lots of timeouts. What's going on, did I miss some game release? "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."
LadyCrimson Posted November 23 Posted November 23 It hasn't been as terrible for me in the past, but it's definitely rougher. I don't know what the "official forum" state of Avowed is going to be (here or a MS site), but this forum isn't ready for a giant influx of game release proportions. “Things are as they are. Fionavar Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Hello everyone - can you comment, as time permits, please, are you still experiencing slowdowns as you access the community? The universe is change; your life is what our thoughts make it - Marcus Aurelius (161)
LadyCrimson Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Maybe half the time I click on (any) link in the forum (subform link, thread link, home page link etc) it'll take quite a while to go there/load. Again, for me not as bad as in the past and I haven't had any actual time-outs, but that could possibly be from me being impatient and not waiting longer, when it happens. The other half of the time it's ok/fairly "normal". And I still get the "post new post" eaten, or sometimes long "saving" loop delays when I hit "submit post" - sometimes if I refresh after trying to post/seems stuck, the post was apparently actually posted but the page was stuck showing me the "saving" loop visually so I couldn't tell, etc. Log-in and Sign-Out menu weirdness occasionally. Little stuff that is a bit annoying but marginally tolerable since it doesn't happen too often (for me). “Things are as they are. Bartimaeus Posted November 26 Posted November 26 (edited) This week, page load times have gone back to being generally respectable, but I've been somewhat frequently getting errors that say "service unavailable" where the page won't load at all. I prefer either the paging loading quickly or giving an error after just a few seconds over it taking a minute just to not load, at least. What LadyCrimson describes above sounds more like how it was for me last week and the week before, though. Edited November 26 by Bartimaeus Quote How I have existed fills me with horror. SChin Posted November 26 Author Posted November 26 Hey folks, Thank you for letting us know! We've been seeing the same thing ya'll have been reporting, so it's nice to get confirmation of all the loading time issues (and time outs). We recently updated the forums early last week and on top of that, it seems like we've been getting hit pretty hard by a bunch of spam accounts and "guests". As a result, our backend webmaster has gone through the system and deleted a large amount of the spam IPs on Saturday as a temp measure to help alleviate the server stress a bit. That said, he is still looking at other ways to help optimize our browsing experience and also considering increasing the backend scaling to help the server in times of heavy load. As you notice any changes whether good or bad, we appreciate the notifications so we can continue to make adjustments to make the forums have a smoother and more enjoyable experience. Thanks as always everyone 1 1

SChin Posted December 10 Author Posted December 10 Hey folks! Just checking in on how things are for you. Things seem to be a bit faster on my end, but I am still seeing the forums go down a couple times a day (for about a minute) from all the spamming some of these bad IPs are doing. We are considering the possibility of adding a limit to the amount of actions per second users can do to help a bit as it seems some of these spammers are sending nearly a thousand requests within a few minutes. That said, we also don't want to limit all of your experiences either, though I doubt yall are clicking on links or posting as much as that. In any case, hearing how your experience has been the past week would be great to hear if you have the time. Thanks a ton everyone and sorry for any slowness you've been experiencing.
