What about if someone feels like shaking their fist at the slow, unwitting demise of the US as a global power? Might it help then?

Maybe, if you started doing it fifty years ago. You'd be a little late to the show doing it now.

Of course we're never so low we can't come back. I don't think it's likely though. While we all agree there is a problem, we can't agree on what the problem is.

so we definitely can't agree on how to fix it. Trump and his very presence in the WH is just a symptom. A small step on a long road. Ironically though if Hillary Clinton were President not a whole lot would be different. There would have been not tax cut and that farce with NK likely would not have happened. Those are incidental however. Gorsuch would not be on the SCOTUS. That would be the biggest difference.

By ancient Roman standards that's a pretty short golden age.

Things move fast these days, we probably consumed more in the 90s than the Roman golden age.

I saw in the news Pam Bondi. the AG for Florida was assaulted by some angry left wingers (is there another kind  ) over immigration at a movie theater down in Tampa. I wonder if they even realize that is a federal responsibility and there is almost nothing a state AG can do about it? Probably not. It was just good old fashioned you're-not-in-my-tribe hate. I bet Red Hen are commies

The restaurant owner Stephanie Wilkinson, before she kicked out Sarah Huckabee Sanders,  had let her staff take a vote on whether or not to serve Sanders.   So the restaurant owner was very democratic for a commie.

I wonder, if Sanders were black and doing the same job would she still have been kicked out? Would everyone be OK with that?

Well, depends on the motivation, skin colour or them being pricks - minorities can be pricks as much as whites.  Is silly to do regardless, judged how you treat people you hate and all that.

If I owned a restaurant and the Devil himself walked in and sat down I'd take his drink order and tell him the specials. As long as he had cash or a credit card. But IMO the owner of the Red Hen is free to serve or decline to serve anyone she wants for any reason at all.

Best to only take credit card from Satan.  Bills are likely to be counterfeit and a stolen CC won't incur a loss to you (I think)

Someone was pointing this out

So here’s what actually just happened:

Fine print in what Trump just signed:

...

1. Families will not be immediately separated, but they will be held in detention together.

2. Crossing the border “illegally” will no longer be deemed a civil violation, it will be deemed a criminal violation.

3. Because it is a criminal violation the parents will be charged criminally. At that point, their children will be forcibly taken.

4. The Executive Order will provide a provision that families will be expedited through the criminal process. This means that the removal of their children will be expedited.

There is still a need for the Tent Cities. There will still be Tender Age Facilities. This serves as optics for Trump to claim he is not ripping families apart. He is. The GOP are. They're just hiding it in the fine print.

The Tampa Bay Times reports Bondi received a police escort Friday when several members of Organize Florida confronted her as she left a Tampa theater after seeing "Won't You Be My Neighbor" about Mr. Rogers.

The demonstrators questioned Florida joining a lawsuit against the Affordable Care Act and Bondi's general support of President Donald Trump's immigration policies.

"Organize Florida

Organize Florida is a community-based, nonprofit member organization of low and moderate income people dedicated to the principles of social, racial, and economic justice and the promotion of an equal and fair Florida for all.

Organizing Our Community One Door at a Time

Our dedicated organizers and members bring communities together, one door at a time, to join in the fight for safe neighborhoods, healthy families, quality education, good jobs, justice, equality and a more representative democracy.

Building a Movement of Leaders

Our members have access to multiple leadership development trainings, develop ideas and solutions to community needs, and are given the tools needed to affect changes in our communities. With the help of our experienced staff, our members decide on the issues and campaigns we work on and play an active role in community development.

Holding Our Government Accountable

Our campaigns, from standing with children and families to the de-prioritization of marijuana, and turning out the most Latinos ever in a national election have propelled Florida to the national spotlight and we remain committed to exposing injustice and holding our leaders accountable.

Taking Action

Our work helps to strengthen democracy, justice, accountability and equality for workers, families and communities. We don’t meet for the sake of meeting, we meet to take action that will help move our priorities forward. Stand up, speak out, and organize Florida — now."

They seem to be more Florida first latino organization which does not like Bondi's support for federal politics that they feel to be against their best interest.

Nah, I'm pretty sure he's Lawful Evil

I think it would be difficult to wholly characterize Satan as either Lawful or Chaotic. Certain aspects of him (e.g. the Prosecutor) were obviously very lawful, but others (e.g. his role as the bringer of knowledge and the patron of the various different types of want-on sins and all the chaos that come with both) I would say rather seem the opposite. So I would think Neutral Evil is probably more fitting for him, as it encompasses his seemingly multi-faceted nature.

(e): It also really depends on which Testament you're looking at, and possibly even from which book within those. God in the Old Testament would seem to be best characterized as Lawful Neutral (he was a real "my way or the highway down into a pillar of salt" type of guy), while in the New Testament, I would say he's more Neutral Good...so if Satan is supposed to be an opposite of sorts, then Neutral Evil seems like the best fit for the New Testament.

Considering that God put Devil charge of punishing people who have gone against God's laws, because Devil wanted freedom from God's rule I am not sure if Devil is even evil

IIRC, Satan is not the master of hell, but simply another one of its inhabitants. Don't think he has anything to do with punishments or anything of the sort, though it is a popular myth (but not based on any scripture, from what I recall). In fact, I believe the entire idea of "hell" is pretty fuzzy and ill-defined in the Bible to begin with. I remember more mentions of simply "the second death" (presumably perdition, but it's not perfectly clear) than anything about a hell.

master can't be inhabitant?

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"
