I'd be surprised if there isn't at least one more (probably exactly one more) since that would bring the grand total to 36, which is divisible by both 3 and 4 and hence doesn't leave a remainder when refining regardless of your choice at the end of WM1. That said, I have no idea where it might be...

Of course, but I can hope You might be right. I didn't want to spam the front page with eleven threads but it might be that we'll have to do it eventually. Thanks for the build. Barbarians are one of the classes I struggle to figure out how to use, and so I've tended not to take Maneha with me much at all. I guess the key to any Barbarian build is going to be making the best use of Carnage, usually through weapon procs. Also, whilst it's a silly reason to like a build, I like that you don't have to respec upon switching weapons. Also has Barbaric Blow received a buff at some point. I swear I remember it being considered pretty bad, but looking at the description it seems pretty powerful albeit only once per encounter.

Indeed, I think that's part of the reason why we need such a sticky. The current sticky is (almost) all pre-2.0 builds and isn't particularly helpful characters in the post 3.0 world, but a new player might not realise this and try to use one of those builds. It's also why I think now is a good time to start work on this, since we're unlikely to see any major changes to the game now.

Somewhat related to the idea raised in this thread, I'd like to start a thread for discussing builds for the official companions. If a new sticky post for builds gets created this thread will hopefully be a source of links, if not then hopefully it'll still he helpful. I definitely find that I tend not to have anywhere near as clear an idea of how to build my companions as I do my main character so either I go with one of Boeroer's builds, KDubya's Juggernaut Monk for Zahua, or some modification of one of NerdCommando's builds if neither of those fit. Recently I tried out ottffsse's Fire General build for Pallegina and realised that there is clearly a lot more potentially cool builds out there, and the purpose of this thread is to collect as many of them in one place. So, if you have any cool builds (or indeed uncool builds) for a companion feel free to post them here. Ideally you'll give a bit of context around the build: what difficulty it's designed for, whether it's min-maxed or more role-play oriented, why you made the choices you made etc. Also welcome would be any questions about how to use particularly companions, which will hopefully encourage others to post builds (I think a certain rogue will get a lot of attention here). Feedback on posted builds should be encouraged, but try to keep it civil and take into account any context given. If someone posts a role-playing build for easy mode then "that build is terrible and will never survive on PotD" is not a good thing to post. Finally, whilst I can't in any way stop people from doing so, it would be great if people could avoid negativity. I know there are some strong opinions on the viability of Barbarians, but when it comes to Maneha let's stick to ways to make her viable rather than complaints about why she can't be.

Something I've noticed is that Durance's Robe, which has the Burn Proof enchantment on it, has a DR of 12 again Burning damage, when it should be just 6 (3 for Robe and 3 for Burn Proof). It's kinda cool that they made Durance's gear a little unique (the Staff does Crush/Burn rather than merely Crush).

I've built my Pallegina in this fashion and I've got to say, it kinda rocks. In particular Wrath of the Five Suns is a ridiculously powerful opener. Strange how Pallegina went from being one of the worst companions to being one of the best.

Azzuro the merchant

Hey! I have a sweet stronghold, I need to decorate it with something, and adventuring doesn't provide me with many opportunities to obtain fancy paintings so I go with spare weapons. -
My hard difficulty monk is primarily using his fists, and wearing exceptional padded armour (eventually I intend to wear just normal clothing) so I think it's very possible. The game was a bit rough for the first few levels, and I stooped to wearing leather, but at level 7 he's doing fine as a tank/damage dealer. Obviously paths of the damned is harder, so I'd expect a longer time struggling near the start (or accepting you have to wear heavier armour) but I'd be surprised if a low armoured monk using his fists isn't viable at later levels in PotD. For reference I am roughly speaking using KDubya's Juggernaut monk build, with the exception of wearing relatively little armour, and I went constitution 14 and perception 16 for... reasons? Torment's Reach spam is a thing of beauty with monk fists.

A melee oriented damage dealing Chanter can certainly work, but the majority of his damage will never really he from his weapons since Chanters don't get any Abilities or Talents designed to up their melee damage. If you're okay with that then it could certainly work and the Drake's Ambassador would make a good starting point for your build. On Hard difficulty or lower you should be able to get away with wielding a two-handed sword instead of a sword and shield (might be worth keeping a sword and shield slotted in your secondary weapon slots just in case) without too much difficulty. Other classes that might appeal to you from your description would be Monks and Paladins. Monks can be perfectly viable with weapons, including two-handed ones, and will fulfil the role of melee damage dealer who throws special powers around occasionally. Similarly for Paladins.

Main Story, an atheist cliche?

You actually didn't make that argument, or at least not in response to my post. Even if you had, it wouldn't have mattered since it's a terrible argument. First, unless you very much blur the lines of what a god is, this correlation doesn't exist. Secondly, even if it did, what would that matter. If someone defines soul to be some immaterial essence of a being then isn't contingent on a God or gods. The only way it becomes so is when you start to claim that that isn't the definition of a soul, and that's exactly where you're claiming ownership of the word (whether it be for Christianity or religion in general). There's no reason to assume that the two should be linked at all, hence the burden of proof lies on the party claiming that they are (you here). You haven't discharged that burden hence I have nothing to prove. EDIT: by the way, to anyone not familiar with this move, what Zenbane did here is called burden shifting. He realised his argument, or lack thereof, wasn't having the desired effect so decided to go with the "yeah well you prove the opposite" tactic. It's kinda cute when you know to look out for it -

If it's a fallacy demonstrate it. Merely saying "X is a fallacy" does not make X a fallacy.
