Talking about xp just brings out the worst in me so I'll keep it brief. It's a bit silly to get xp from entering houses since as far as I know there is no danger/challenge to exploring the town. I feel that xp should be awarded for achieving something. I feel that uncovering a hidden temple or reaching a cave guarded by giant man-killing spiders is an accomplishment that warrants xp. Not just entering a house. Oh well, even not-so-well implemented exploration xp is better than no exploration xp.

Interesting developments in some USA Media circles
Namutree replied to BruceVC's topic in Way Off-Topic
And just like the U.S the state that "sponsors" this propaganda is commanded by and serves the interests of its own ruling oligarchy. This is my view as well. They are bought and paid for. I wouldn't trust them much (if any) more than state media. -

I agree with your take on Ocarina of Time. Wind Waker is probably the only good 3D Zelda. Link to the past and the Oracle games are pretty darn good though. -
I can't hear any battle music when I'm in a battle. When I'm battling I should hear battle music, but when battle occurs; I don't hear the battle music. So, what's up that?

2: Get the summon phantom spell. He's your offense. 3: Make sure to invest in attributes that help you survive such as CON and RES. 4: Get the "Fast runner" Utility Talent. 5: Once the game gets going; take the rouge's cape to allow you to easily escape engagement. 6: Wear heavy armor. Also, use shields. 7: In combat, you'll be faster than nearly all enemies. So go ahead and run around building up chants. Once you have three: summon the phantom! 8: There are a very few foes you can actually keep up with your speed. These foes are hilariously weak though, and won't be able to deal with your defense. They can't hold you either since you can just disengage them with nearly no penalty. If they chase soon it'll just be the fast little worm and you alone. Go ahead and just wait for the summon. 9: On your first level up I advise investing in "weapon and shield style". Gives you +10 deflection AND reflex defense while using a shield. Totally pwns the fast but weak enemies. That's pretty much how it works. I should note there is an Ai bug that makes the enemy randomly abandon the fight while you're running away; even if you're not far from them. It's annoying as it "ends battle" and makes you lose your chants. Not a big deal though. BTW: After I did everything worth doing; I WENT INSANE!!! My pets and I wiped out the whole town!

What's the general strategy for Chanter solo? Speed and defense. Prolong the fight and build up chants. Then use summons to kill the enemies. 1: Choose the speed increasing chant to help you keep distance on enemies.

Consumables Overpowered. And enemies won't use them.
Namutree replied to Bazy's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Consumables are better in PoE than in most RPGs, but they're more expensive too. Still, a slight nerf is in order. You should also keep in mind that thanks to engagement pc's can't just move away when they're injured. -

This is good -
I've been soloing. It's easy as I suspected. I just wanted to show a quick highlight:

The key to solo play is the chanter I suspect. I'll give it whirl and report to you guys how it went...

Wild Orlan - Minor Threat, unexpectedly high number of crits?

That is an awesome idea. It's the best of both worlds! -

Significant? No. Build Neutral? Sure. -
Wild Orlan - Minor Threat, unexpectedly high number of crits?
Namutree replied to Sock's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
The problem is I get shoehorned into class roles I don't want. I'll give an example: In Skyrim Orcs get a racial power that makes them into epic warriors. So when I wanted to play an Orc; I had to be a warrior or nerf my character horribly. I didn't want to be a warrior. I just wanted to be an orc cuz' they got cool lore and look neat. I think it's just restrictive when racial abilities are strong because you should make your class/attributes take proper advantage of it. Unless you don't mind that your character will be weak, and I do mind. I say let's just keep it a minor power that doesn't really matter, and let the real difference between the races be lore and appearance. -

I agree. I prefer race to be more of a roleplaying choice than a mechanical choice. -
Update #88: Final Sprint and... Release Date!
Namutree replied to BAdler's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
Call me a noob, but I've never understood what DRM is. Are you saying that some versions of PoE will need an internet connection to play or what? If I do need an internet connection to play PoE with DRM then I must have a non-DRM version. EDIT: Just checked My Pledges. It says my version will be DRM free so... It's kinda a moot issue. -
I was running a Chanter and during the battle I summoned some skeletons. For some reason after the battle was over a little box displaying a skeleton's status never went away. It was a major annoyance since the window blocked my view of abilities! Luckily it went away after I entered the spider cave. I should also note that I attempted to summon skeletons during the battle again while I still had a single skeleton alive. Not sure if that's relevant, but just putting that out there.

Profit driven media is more relies on sensationalist stories to get more clicks/tweets/whatever. Who'd have thunk it. Barely related prediction: In 50 years the Republican and Liberal parties will have died out and been replaced by the "SJW" and "GG" parties. At that point I will abandon human civilization and live in the woods. Not a bad prediction. -

A few thoughts: 1: Trolls are jerks. 2: She isn't all that informed about GG so I won't hold her slander against her. 3: That troll was absolutely pathetic. EDIT: 1 more thing. Trolling has NOTHING to do with attempting to silence people. It's just them being jerks for laughs. -

Whoah really cool changes ! :D But yeah, as many have said it, Resolve has just become a dump stat for most builds Nothing wrong with dump stats for builds; as long as it's not a dump stat for a class. Wait... INTERRUPT ENDS ENGAGEMENT!!! Awesome.

Then we were only disagreeing on details then as this was my position. I wouldn't have complained about focusing on elves if we only had like, 4 or 6 portraits of them already. I don't know how many more portraits we're getting, but I'm guessing about 5 or 6. I don't want any more them to be elves. we already got 12 of them! Although I think that male elf re-altered three times should only count as 1 so... 10. 9 If you don't count it cuz' it sucks.
