There are now portraits for every race and sub-race except Wild Orlan.

Gotta love those Youtube subtitles.

Male or Female

Wood Elves in the Elder Scrolls, by 10% in Morrowind and Oblivion (in Skyrim, only very slightly). --- First playthrough will be with a male Paladin called Galahad. While it wouldn't be my first choice of character today (and certainly not the name), it's kind of a tradition - I did the first run of BG, BG2, IWD, IWD2, and NWN1 with him. So I have to stick to it. :D When I mean bigger, I really mean it. The difference with bosmers is not that noticeable. I am talking about muscle and overall body structure and not really some inches taller. I think that would be interesting. They should base the race on Hyena's cuz' they're cool. -
And what's the problem with this? It's actually allright that when you make a party like this and all of you chars are bashing one enemy, they can interrupt him to death. One can assume that you will get annihilated by many other groups of enemies throughout the game with party composition like this. Nothing broken here. I have to admit, if six guys were all beating me with clubs; I wouldn't be able to move.

The healing talents are meh, but not worthless. It can extend your adventuring day, but you'll be slightly less effective in an immediate battle than if you had chosen a more combat oriented talent. Superior deflection is absolute trash. It should be +8 at least. Even then it wouldn't be good, but at least it wouldn't be horrible.
-
What do you guys feel are the worst talents? I'm thinking of Hold the Line. Screw that talent.

The paladin is better at tanking than a DPS role. As a tank I find cautious attack to be a poor choice as it simply doesn't help much since the loss of DPS costs you, and a bonus to only deflection isn't all encompassing enough. I would recommend a weapon and shield style WITH the weapon and shield style talent which gives +10 REFLEX as well as deflection. When distributing attributes buff RES and your will defense will be good; combine that with the buffed CON that one assumes any decent tank would have and your fortitude is quite high too. With this set up you will be quite the effective tank.

Wild Orlan - Minor Threat, unexpectedly high number of crits?
Namutree replied to Sock's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Incorrect. They are the best to romance. I disagree. They are barely better than humans to romance. I'd prefer something more wacky. Like a male Gnome or female Half-Orc. Now that would be funny and more interesting than freakin' elves. Too BG2 gave you three choices: Elf, Elf, or if you're feeling adventurous; Half-Elf. -
Either everything got weaker, or I just got better. I obliterated the first beetle group on hard. It could be both. I wasn't really talking about the difficulty across the board though; just how Medreth compares to other foes. For being a quest battle Medreth seems too weak compared to ordinary encounters. I do agree though that things are easier than some of the previous builds.
-
Why do you insist on shoehorning a quest into every possible source of xp, as if adding the quest contributes to the mechanic in any way? If it does; I would sure like to know what it adds. EDIT: Dang it! I was supposed to stop talking about this! Bad me! BAD!
-
This becoming an xp thread! Time to talk about something else... Has anyone noticed how weak the Medreth party seems to be in this build. It's kinda lame. Give them a little buff Obsidian; the freakin' beetles are tougher than they are.

That's not what many of us envisioned when they talked about exploration XP. That implementation just seems lazy to me. IMO it would have been better to give XP for finding 'secret' areas and finding things within areas (such as hidden caches). I agree. Not a huge deal though. Maybe they'll do better in the sequel.

It's been like this from the start. We'll win; it doesn't matter what the media thinks. All their slander is going to accomplish is diminish their already dwindling credibility. -

Can someone with a Beta Key test my o.p. party and fraps it?

This idea won't work that well. -

I didn't watch it; care to give a summary? -
I disagree. I really like the idea of starting up the game and going through character creation with this. Now, to be sure, this requires that the game actually keeps playing this when going from the starting menu to character creation, which I just realized it may not, but I much prefer it to the ear-grating bombastic nature of the BG2 theme that hits you when booting up. I'd rather have something nice to listen to that lulls me into the game during my initial forays into the game, and then stays calmly out of the way when I feel like I'm just in a hurry to load my game or whatever. I hated the BG2 theme. I really like BG1's main theme though.

This is what I do too. -
Talking about xp just brings out the worst in me so I'll keep it brief. It's a bit silly to get xp from entering houses since as far as I know there is no danger/challenge to exploring the town. I feel that xp should be awarded for achieving something. I feel that uncovering a hidden temple or reaching a cave guarded by giant man-killing spiders is an accomplishment that warrants xp. Not just entering a house. Oh well, even not-so-well implemented exploration xp is better than no exploration xp.

Interesting developments in some USA Media circles

And just like the U.S the state that "sponsors" this propaganda is commanded by and serves the interests of its own ruling oligarchy. This is my view as well. They are bought and paid for. I wouldn't trust them much (if any) more than state media. -

I agree with your take on Ocarina of Time. Wind Waker is probably the only good 3D Zelda. Link to the past and the Oracle games are pretty darn good though.
