  1. I think he put them there for some kinda proof he's the artist or something.
  2. Honestly they deserve to be in the actual game. IF THE WATER MARK WASN'T THERE. BTW: Do you have a version without the water mark?
  3. MOAR!!! BTW: I'll using that Wild Orlan portrait as my first main. Well friggin' done.
  4. Yeah, the non-standard fantasy races are particularly hard to find. When I tried searching for Godlike, they were either too human or too alien. I didn't bother with Orlan because I knew I would just get a bunch of furry pics. How about this for a Fire Godlike?
  5. A thread for showing off good potential custom portraits that you found online or made yourself. I found this on google and think it might make a good human aristocrat.
  6. Rand Paul does not seem to be his father. Although it could be he is just pandering to get votes. Which is also something his father wouldn't do. He isn't his father AND he's pandering to get votes. He'd moderate to be sure, but he'd be moderating in the right direction. What laws can be passed is hugely impacted by the president since he has the power of veto. Want to get some BS bill signed into law? Pass something the president likes. Not to mention there are bills that need to be renewed which gives the president influence over congress. The President has incredible power to turn things around even without abusing executive orders.
  7. Maybe if Rand Paul wins in 2016 things will begin to reverse.
  8. You're the one talking crap here. Your argument is XP for kills was in IE games and so it should be in Pillars of Eternity. My argument is that while Baldur's Gate is supposed to be target title for Project Eternity - as quoted - it doesn't have XP for kills. I even supported this by stating that my Baldur's Gate experience didn't concern XP for kills (or XP as such) in the slightest, because that wasn't what made that game (or IE games in general) great for me. That isn't my argument. My argument is and always has been that XP should be awarded by completing challenges. Not simply because it was in the IE games. Combat XP should be in PoE because combat XP is good. The fact that it was in the IE games and not in PoE is just kinda ironic and disappointing, but there are a lot of things in the IE games that aren't in PoE so whatever. We were promised an Isometric view and tactical combat with RTwP which they have delivered so I don't feel they're obligated to provide combat XP, but rather am simply disappointed that they didn't.
  9. I already proved you wrong - Pillars of Eternity is a spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate (link). What does this statement have to do with the line you quoted? Spiritual successor does not come up. Unless "spiritual successor" is said that proves nothing. Josh has elaborated many times what PoE's connection to the IE games is, and never once was "spiritual successor" mentioned. So quit the BS. PoE is not a "spiritual successor". I can't read it for you. It's pretty clear as it is. Actually it isn't. The line you quoted was me challenging Mysh's logic that if a feature that was shared by the IE games and Diablo existed, but isn't in PoE; I should be play Diablo instead of complain about said feature being removed. That logic was BS and quite obviously so. That could apply to text. That could apply to movement. That could apply to enemies. That could apply towards being able to switch weapons. It could apply to having an in-game avatar. All you did was say that I seem to think a game having any RPG element makes it an RPG. Which has no relation what so ever to my and Mysh's argument in any way at all.
  10. The compulsive double poster of the Obsidian Order.
  11. You seem to think that any RPG element in a game automatically makes something an RPG. What does that have to do with the line you quoted?
  12. That's your notion what spiritual successor is or what spiritual successor is supposed to contain. I want to be very clear with this: Pillar of Eternity is not a "spiritual successor" to the IE games. It was never pitched as one, or advertised as one. Anyone calling Pillars of Eternity a "spiritual successor" to the IE games is simply wrong. PoE is a re-imagining of the IE games. Big difference. Not important in regard to combat XP, but is something that should be cleared up ASAP. What does this statement have to do with the line you quoted? Anyways, I don't really care that the lack of combat XP doesn't bother you. If quest Xp weren't around it wouldn't bother me, but you don't see me saying quest XP should be taken out just to screw people who like doing quests over. If they think a noble giving a sh*t about farmer mcf*cknut's pigs is the epitome of RP; no skin off my back if they get XP.
  13. I had some tomatoes I grew and they weren't very good. The End.
  14. Why reload? You'd only be knocked out. Also getting hit doesn't ensure a knockout. Again: CON does VERY LITTLE for your wizards survival. Max CON and dumped CON are little different for a mage.
  15. The fact that CON doesn't scale well confirms that it's not worth investing in. That Adra Beetle AoE is also not very big like most enemy AoE attacks and should never hit your wizard. If your wizard is being hit; you're f*cking up. Also since CON doesn't scale well it very well may not even come into play when you are hit.
  16. I have long ago accepted that PoE will not have combat XP. So I am already used to it. It is unfortunate though given the RP and play style restrictions inherent to not providing combat XP. Disappointing that an IE inspired game would ditch the IE method of giving XP. It's still better than it used to be though. I have already had this argument in this thread about how combat XP conforms to RP, and how not providing combat XP limits viable RP options. See those for why this statement is utterly wrong. You used a nonsense argument, and I gave a hypothetical scenario that shows how absurd your logic is. Your suggestion of "play Diablo" if you want combat xp could be used to justify axing any game mechanic that the IE games shared with Diablo. (which is a lot since both are RPGs.) That would include dialog. That would include enemies. That would include colors. The list goes on and on.
  17. True. But I think that shows my point even more. Some low level boots give the wizard +42% endurance if they have low CON. You don't want your gear to have to make up for your stats. I'm guessing a dps wizard would want to be able to use dps boots than to have to rely on +endurance boots to make him survivable. But overall it's a value judgement. Trade off a little dps just in case there happens to be a dragon that does an aoe fire breath. But to each their own. No matter what the wizard is going to be squishy. It shows your point less since the large endurance gap between the 3 CON wizard and BB Wizard wasn't due to the CON difference but rather the boots.
  18. You do realize BB wizard has boots that increase his max endurance by 20 right? Also 48 is more than half of 84.
  19. Not awarding Xp for combat is BAD FOR ROLE-PLAYING. Or nearly every other RPG. I could make that argument about nearly everything. What if PoE didn't let you talk to npcs? You want to talk to npcs? Might I suggest diablo. Like what? I've never played in an RPG where searching for every fight was needed or even efficient. Certainly this was not the case in the IE games (which all had combat xp), and that's what PoE is supposed to be based on. So? This isn't a case of choosing between quest and combat xp.
  20. I just wanna forget Dark Alliance.
  21. This is simply not true. If you're not wearing armor then DEX can be very helpful. Even in short fights. CON is one of the weaker attributes and many classes don't really benefit from it since it grants (if buffed) and punishes (if dumped) by percentage depending on your class. There is no relevant penalty for dumping CON on a mage for example.
