"Lost Skeleton of Cadavra" sequel "The Lost Skeleton Walks Among Us" is up on Kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1911769963/the-lost-skeleton-walks-among-us-larry-blamire-sci Lost Skeleton was a hoot, one of the best comedy homage to 50s low budget sci-fi/horror films ever done. The sequel was pretty good as well. A third time would be great.

To be honest the paranoid part of me would be wondering if there was a problem with the wires on the stairwell bulbs. Does it have dual switches (ie you can turn it on/off at the top of the stairs or at the bottom)? Could there be some sort of problem with one of the switches? Although, weirdly, with bulbs flying over the place, Gfted might have been right about witchcraft...

^Here I'd have figured you'd diagnose light-bulb cancer. Could the surge have knocked out power in your house and somewhere down the line outside of the house? In that scenario when you fixed the breaker you still wouldn't have been getting power at night but would once the power company fixed the power coming into the house. Or was it only the lights affected? I've had single bulbs partially break their filament and work hours after popping, but unless your lights were strung in some sort of bizarre series that wouldn't explain anything.

Reminds me, I'll have to dig out the last post counts and share them.... Another thing, remember those stupid popularity threads? All the nominees pm'ing everyone to vote for him or her. I must have sent DOZENS of pm's promising special favors if they'd vote for me. LOL! I remember those "Write something about the person above you" threads. I think I once called Amentep the god of all comic book knowledge. To be fair, I think the truth is "pretends to be the god of all comic book knowledge". I'd probably cringe at some of my answers now (and probably will cringe at my answers now in the future). *looks at pictures* NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111onetwothree This is probably an abject lesson in how nothing put up on the internet ever really goes away. Also, I miss your Kirby dance bit Seriously though, its like a flood of memories seeing some of those names. Particularly the people I hadn't thought of in ages. Oh man! Yeah seems kind of odd that someone took your old name then never even used it. What were they thinking? Perhaps Ace should try to log in as ApocalypseCow, click the "forgot password" and see if it goes to an old email account? I kid, remember WWOT posts here don't add to the post count and its also possible any posts made on that account were deleted or something. I still remember the chess competition in IRC and being frustrated that the only action I saw (I played the Queen's bishop, IIRC) involved being taken near the end of the game while the King's Bishop moved all over the place (and the player playing the King's Bishop didn't even show up!). It seems so silly to be frustrated over it now...

The way I see it, in regards to Kickstarters at least, is that they already have my money. They could go belly-up without releasing anything, that was the risk I accepted when I pledged. So a delay is meaningless as long as the thing comes out. The only effect mismanagement in the case of a Kickstarter could do, at this point, is keep me from pledging from future Kickstarters by that company or persons involved.

As long as it comes out, I'm okay.

JadedWolf's Hopefully Attractive Giant Insect Thread
Amentep replied to JadedWolf's topic in Way Off-Topic
As kirottu pointed out earlier in this thread, spiders aren't insects! :D Nah, they are all from the same family... critters that need to be squashed Why squish spiders? They're hunters and eat insects -including ones you don't want in your house. You really should take them outside if possible* (and I know sometimes it isn't possible). I'd much rather have some good spiders around the house than a lot of other insects. Pretty much the only bugs that are "squish on sight" to me are the parasitic (fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, etc) and roaches inside a house (roaches that don't live in houses are okay). *probably helps there isn't a high population of spiders that can kill or seriously damage humans where I live. I wouldn't touch a spider in Australia without a scientist to confirm what the heck I was dealing with. -
Sexually explicit content
Amentep replied to Sad Panda's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Too often narrative storytelling that views itself as mature tries to prove its maturity by showing explicitly how it has the freedom to do mature things, which in turn makes the mature elements seem gratuitous and thus immature. -

And now I'm thinking of the "wood for sheep" gag in Knights of the Dinner Table (said during a game of The Settlers of Catan, IIRC) -

Go. Its not like you can't leave if you're not having fun. Unless its, like, a kidnapping themed party or something.

Damn you Facebook! I'm too much of a "Luddite" to go on to it. I am a dinosaur slowly watching my internet fossilize!

Yeah, I miss Hell Kitty too. For that matter, anyone know what happened to Ariane who Onkel's typo was to?

JadedWolf's Hopefully Attractive Giant Insect Thread
Amentep replied to JadedWolf's topic in Way Off-Topic
What's this thread without a Lord Howe's Walking Stick? -
That's the one. Class. Good old Onkel It was a great typo, but I actually started feeling bad for him after awhile...

Yeah, Rachel left not long after we moved from BIS to Interplay, as I recall. Not sure if she was active here at some point or not. I remember her and I having a bit of a disagreement when we were both still mods. Ultimately time has proven her right and me wrong. Awkward.

Haven't seen Charcoal or Chairchucker or Veloxyll in ages.

And here I would have guessed (with no context, of course) that "barding" was what Bards do. Learn something new everyday (two for today so far, also learned about "buskers").

1988 - NIGHT OF THE DEMONS, US, Directed by Kevin Tenney? Its a fun flick from the time as I recall. Another horror film from the 80s with Linnea "Return of the Living Dead" Quigley in it. Thought the end stinger was lame, though as I recall. Two sequels I've never seen were made and a remake came out about 5 years ago of middling reputations. For 80s era Demon movies, I'm probably more partial to Lamberto Bava's Dèmoni even if it makes less sense (in the typical Italian horror way) than NotD. For my part, watched HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2. I enjoyed it, but less so than the first. Certain themes were hit so hard they became preachy and the middle section was somewhat slow (substituting family bonding with the Hiccup-Toothless bonding of the first film during the same part of the film). Action was good, but none of the set pieces matched the end of the first. Still, as I said I did enjoy it and it was a decent film if not as good as the first.

When I think of X-Men Villains, I think Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, the Hellfire Club, the Brood, Dark Phoenix, Arcade and The Stranger. What can I say, I read X-Men's 60s and 70s stuff more than anything else...

Congrats GD! Wish you the best.
