Publisher Turn to Crowdfunding?
Based on the interview (from a Square or Collective representative) there are two roles the publisher plays with the collective; the first is in potentially distributing the products of the collective, the second is being available to provide support during the development process including providing assistance in the form of staff from their existing studios. If so, the publisher isn't receiving money but providing nothing (else why would anyone go to the collective in the first place?)

It was leaked online and - as far as I know - removed to copyright heaven.

I'm still reading, I'm just not so good at posting! Spamming is what gives BISers their power. It's an entropic field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the forum together.

Your PoE Pros and Cons: 5 and 5
Made by Obsidian Isometric, RTwP, party based game unique setting Loads of class/race combinations potential for non-combat skills to really be useful through the whole game Have to wait until December So many Class/Race combinations will mean I'll restart a lot potential for increased utility of non-combat skills to make combat undesirable deep stash sounds like a potential solution to packratitis but could also be a mess but this is more "wary" than true negative I got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell

BIS Boards Reunion Tour
I'm in the middle of moving house! We move two weeks tomorrow. So, I am currently spending a lot of time lamenting the fact that I have so much stuff to pack... Ahh, again eh? I'd help you if I could. Well we just got our final approval yesterday on a house that we've been negotiating buying for the past week. We have all that packing to look forward to now. Garage sale time: Oak dining set anyone? Wrought iron daybed? Got any comic books, preferably pre-1957?

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
Well, I remember back in high school here in the US when Princip and the entire Black Hand were dismissed as "anarchists". So in some ways what I'm seeing now is more informational than those days (as I think from my limited readings on the subject that only Cabrinovic (sp) - the bomb guy - self-identified as an anarchist) albeit I don't think history is ever told without an angle to it.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
Would you consider yourself a verbose person? I've never met a simple sentence I could not make into something far more complex, convoluted and less easy to read and understand the intent of, despite all my efforts to achieve the clarity of crystal spring water.

Dragon Age: Inquistion
IIRC if you talk to Isabella enough you find she comes from a hedonistic culture, one in which sex is free and saying no is un-thought of. So I'd agree ultimately the character is a hedonist. I'm not sure it makes her a bad character, though. The real reason why the Mage registry and relocation to a Circle is enforced - free access to STD cleansing.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
I thought it was Franz Joseph, Emperor of Austria/King of Hungary who annexed Bosnia-Herzegovina, not his nephew Archduke Franz Ferdinand. IIRC Franz Ferdinand actually disagreed with Franz Joseph on the treatment of Serbia (although I believe to what degree was always unclear) and some have speculated his stated desire for more autonomous rule for distinct ethnic groups in the empire (I recall Czechs and South Slavs were mentioned) might have been sign that had Franz Ferdinand lived and taken the throne from Franz Joseph (already 84 and only to live two more years) that a reunited Serbia might have been achievable via diplomacy (not sure I buy it, but it's certain an opinion I've seen espoused more than once). All this to say, I think Valiant Hearts is using WWI as a backdrop for the story as opposed to really be about fighting WWI.

Dragon Age: Inquistion
It's probably the final chapter, just like there originally were only going to be three Mass Effect games (but hey, if there's money to be had... I don't really blame them for milking their franchises btw, it makes perfect business sense). No, Dragon age is open-ended, but since the pc changes, there are other obvious differences, too. IIRC, though, Dragon Age is a set time frame and they were near the end of it when the first blight happened (isn't it like 100 years). Eventually they'll end up having to end Dragon Age because of the Age naming system (to be followed by some other "Age" series - "Reborn Old God Age"?). http://www.ign.com/games/final-fantasy-tactics-advance/gba-480116 is not pc, but is only ff game we could recommend. we would prefer to eat a sandwich filled with aluminum foil shavings than play ff rpgs. we tried to play ff 7. *shudder* HA! Good Fun! Final Fantasy VI is the best one; I don't think any of the ones before or sense have managed to be as compelling. But then I did enjoy 7, so... IMO, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is worse than (and a generally poor sequel to) FFT which itself isn't as good as Ogre Battle: Let Us Cling Together.

Movies you've seen recently
RIP Eli. He's great in THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY, but also good in THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN. He was the third Mr. Freeze in the 60s Batman (following George Sanders and Otto Preminger) but honestly his credits are too numerous.

Hucksterism 101: The rubes don't pay to see worthless, un-notable items. I realized upon re-reading this it could be seen as me calling Hurl a rube, not really my intent. I think these roadside shows can be interesting if you know what you're getting into. But the ballyhoo is there, regardless.

What you did today
Its good that you moved so swiftly to prevent said murder, what would happen later when kitty gets older and reflects on its life. Imagine the guilt Cats hunt - its what they do. They're obligate carnivores and as they can't produce etinol, taurine, and arachidonic acid IIRC and they have to get it from the flesh, organs and/or bones or prey. Or cat food. But while you can take the animal hunting out of the cat food, you can't take the animal hunting instinct out of the cat. But murder is murder, and what about the long term psychological consequences when Kitty realizes all the lives that he/she has ended? Just because Kitty is an animal this needs to be considered...don't you think? So you're suggesting that cats abstain from hunting... ...and thus go blind and die because they can't synthesize proteins they need from eating plants? And what about plant murder? Why is that bird okay to save, but not the grass. WON'T ANYONE THINK OF THE GRASS? I am quite sure Bruce was joking. I certainly hope so! I'm sorry, no one jokes on a message board. This is serious business™

Dragon Age: Inquistion
Dude! You've ruined the context for my post about the inequality in Zevran's relationship with the Warden vs. his relationship with the Champion of Kirkwall and how I'm hoping they're avoiding the former for DAI... I'm confused. Were broodmothers created through rape (among other things) or do they turn through entirely non-sexual means? I'll stop. Well in the lore, as I understand it, they are typically created against their will by being fed humanoids tainted by the blight. So they aren't born, but it is a creation against will (although, its also a bit unclear as to whether the broodmother is really the person it was before it came to be; is a person taken over by THE THING in the movie(s) of the same name really the person anymore even if it has the same memories?)

True Neutral or How most CRPGs pigeonhole you into Lawful Good and Chaotic Evil
To me, True Neutral doesn't ascribe to an ethical motivation of action (ie a Neutral person would see no good or evil in an action done to further their goals) and would only really be limited from causing large degrees of pain to others (like an evil alignment would) if they held a belief that others should be left to their ideals as much as they are and/or holding an interest in not tipping the balance between order and chaos. A true neutral Druid would try to achieve a preservation of nature, but would balance that preservation with an understanding that humanoids were a part of the natural order; the druid wouldn't just kill human developers encroaching on their preserved lands unless they were forced to choose to save the greater aspect of nature at the expense of the lesser. The same druid might encourage a town to have open, natural areas but wouldn't advocate the destruction of an existing town either as humanoids have to live somewhere, just as rabbits in a warren or birds in nest. I'd also argue that while "crazy" could describe chaotic neutral, pretty much any anarchist could also be described as Chaotic Neutral. To me the chaotic neutral person should be against law/order in any form they find it (or, if weakly chaotic, against specific forms of law and order). I had a Chaotic Neutral Priestess of Talona I played and the goal with the character was that (a) death was an expression against the forced order of living and (b) any chance to kill (preferably with poison or disease) people who represented order should be considered. So she could do good or bad as long as there was an end result that destabilized an ordered structure (including her own adventuring party if they got too structured). She might join an adventuring group and help kill the leader of the orc warband to destabilize the leadership of the raiders, then use the opportunity of the feast celebrating the freedom of the town from the orcs to sneak a snake in the bed of the town mayor. Good times. Lawful Neutral to me is the knight sworn in service who will give out bread to peasants and then cut the peasants down as they sat to eat at the order of the king. The law is the law, and it applies to all and s/he doesn't question his/her place in the order of things. But I'd also argue that an assassin who would never break a contract and didn't care if the kill was "good" or "evil" would also be Lawful Neutral as they're dedicated to the order created by the contract, all other considerations being irrelevant.

Never heard that before either, and in fact I think if I uttered in my neck of the woods, I'd get jumped.
