Not really "What I'm Playing" so much as a "blast from the past" - Apparently had some VTM:Bloodlines screencaps from 2007 still sitting in my files.

Yeah my defense is quite high when compared with attack. It can take some time to take down stronger monsters compared to my monk (who had some pretty fast and deadly strikes) or the Barbarian (whose biggest problem was getting Rage up to smash things so always started fights slowly in damage).

Adult females overthrown teen males as largest gaming demographic
Amentep replied to Bryy's topic in Computer and Console
No need to apologize for something you can't help Monte. But that doesn't change the fact we should still be asking " why is there such a lack female participation on these forums and how can we change this" ? I can't be the only one who has noticed the gender disparity on these forums? In my experience most everyone has better things to do than post on message boards. Posting here says more about us than it does the people who don't post here, I think. Not sure why playing a specific game or type of game makes someone a non-gamer. -
Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. I'm enjoying the Crusader class pretty well, shot up to my favorite class almost immediately mixing sort of the monk and barbarian classes + flails. Also finding some of the other classes more fun than I remembered as well (never messed much with the Demon Hunter or Wizard).

Isn't that what the preview button is for? I use the preview button and still end up finding stuff that I think is spelled wrong or perhaps could be edited for clarity after I've posted. Somtimes, I just leave it and hope no one notices...

Its an American Football reference. Certain members of the offense are tasked with protecting the person with the ball from being tackled by interfering with the defenses ability to down the ball handler. I think in this context, the animal companion engages the opponent in melee, interfering with the opponents ability to get to the ranger (similar to how the offensive line blocks the defensive line from tackling the quarterback after the snap in American Football).

I thought this bit might address the philosophy that could look at the feedback about Might: -

The Official Romance Thread
Amentep replied to Blarghagh's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Statically speaking, AIUI, the scenario described would actually favor romance winning as all people wanting to vote for romance would only need to make one choice, while those not wanting romance (or not wanting some form of romance) would have to choose between 18 options. -
Er...sorry...

Don't know yet. I'm not familiar with Indonesian folklore so I have no idea what manner of beasties I'll be up against. I just hope it's not zombies. If you're attacked by a flying head with its organs attached, its a Leyak. See, I learned something from watching Mystics in Bali

Transporter 3.

It is the developers responsibility to develop a way to play the game that they believe will be something the player wants to play. They can create their systems to try and not encourage one play style over others (unless the game has only one play style) and not to require things that will be tedius, un-fun, etc. Once the developer puts the game in the hands of the player, they can't really be responsible for how the player uses the system, only for whether the system works/doesn't work.

But what about Winston Churchill? And I don't know who the redhead is so...how about Natalya Rudakova?

Sounds like you need a drink.

Not sure if its been specifically addressed since the beta started, but given that they've showed demonstrations of animation (like that sea shore) in other things, I'd imagine that they'll continue working over areas for animation, detail, etc. Could be wrong of course.

"No Bad Builds" a failure in practice?
Amentep replied to SergioCQH's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
That's why puissance is the viable alternative, I'm tellin' ya! -
And if you don't burn them, they've become zombies when you return. And if you DO burn them, they've become skeletal creatures when you return. Seriously though, I'm neutral on the issue. I understand why people like the persistance, but if its a pain for the devs to make it happen, I'm not going to miss it either.

Sensuki's Suggestions #009: Inventory and Item Tooltips
Amentep replied to Sensuki's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
What? Inventory Weight limits were a *huge* deal in the IE games. Most people did not "just drop things in any available slot until a limit was reached and then start dragging things over to the next character." instead, it was exactly as infinitron suggested. You made sure your high strength characters carried all the heavy stuff, and your weaklings carried the keys and scrolls and excess potion stashes. Can't speak for anyone else, but I'd pick up items with my strongest character, and then when s/he hit encumbrance I'd play inventory Tetris, spreading the weight through the party. Then after the strongest character was maxed, I started using the next available character who hadn't hit their weight limits... -
"No Bad Builds" a failure in practice?

Do your partners find your strikes fumbling and laughable? Do you find yourself feeling unsatisfied after the ministrations of your loving healer? Do you find your fortitude lacking and your ability to last outshined by your peers? If you answered yes to any of these problems, you may be impotent. You have a weak soul and yes, everyone is laughing at you behind your back. This happens when you view potency as a "dump stat". But now, thanks to a new miracle drug, we can guarantee* an increase in your soul power. Impress your partners with your might, show them how you can strike true, strike hard and keep on striking for a long long time. Now, for a low, low introductory offer, you can sample this mysterious new find in Animancy for yourself. Don't be the laughing stock of the adventure - be the life of the adventure! *Results not typical; if skin lesions form, discontinue use or risk becoming corporeal undead. Offer void in the Aedyr Empire. Studies have not been sanctioned by any local government and were paid for by the manufacturer Animancy & Gamble. -
"No Bad Builds" a failure in practice?
Amentep replied to SergioCQH's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
I didn't say they were better, just synonymous. Although I would probably slip Obsidian an extra fiver if they put "puissance" in the game. -

Potency? Eficacy? Capacity? Energy? Moxie? Prowess? Puissance? Efficiency? Mastery? All are rough synonyms for might. -

Just for your information, this is exactly how my muscle wizard spends his downtime. I demand a muscular wizard villain in the final product of Pillars of Eternity as an Easter Egg. Oh, and his catchphrase should be "KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!!" He should scream it while doing his finishing move on his enemies: the Snapmare Neckbreaker Mighty muscle wizard villian flexes biceps, its super effective.
