  1. Same. It's the only part of the game that I actually enjoy. Unfortunately, I can't do *just* the class quests and have fun... I have to do the planet story as well, and every side quest and bonus in order to stay at the right level. The horrors of MMO's -- I do love how the Smuggler is basically forced to care about all of that ****, in the planet stories, when one could just as well not be. After you get the Thousand Year-Albatross back, the Smuggler doesn't have much of a story anymore. And yet.. I still loved it more than most of the Force User classes. Simply because the Smuggler was entertaining to play and most of the party members were fun.
  2. Abortion Clinic -- Getting killed for being German PP points, the jokes about turn-based combat The whole underwear gnomes thing And some more..
  3. In hopes that JRPGs count as well Valkyria Chronicles, if you actually own a PS3 Persona 3 & 4 Vampire Masquerade: Bloodlines Well, most western RPGs I like have already been mentioned so I guess that's about it for now
  4. George Lucas has never been a good filmmaker - Most of the good dialogue, directing, cinematography, acting, everything were done by Lawrence Kasdan, Peter Suschitzky (Awesome guy, who's done a lot of collab with Cronenberg) Leigh Brackett & Irwin Kershner etc. Heck one of the best romantic moments in Empire was something Harrison Ford improvised on the fly. Star Wars' quality didn't drop with Phantom Menace, it was already partly there, in Return of the Jedi. Lucas sadly gets too much credit for the old movies, when it really was a team effort (all of it). He might have been the one with the idea, but I got ideas too, it doesn't mean I have the resources to get them out there.
  5. I am of the opinion that this is partly a good thing - I felt that with BioShock Infinite, Ken Levine doesn't have the amount of free-reign to make the games he wants. The game has been through tons of delays, and he changed the boxart to something that would sell the game compromising what it actually is about. Something Naughty Dog didn't want to do and didn't have to do. I do feel bad for the people who are out of job because of it. I feel that sooner or later 2K would have scrapped them as well like they did with 2K Marin or placed them somewhere in lower staff of the other studios. Best of luck to all of them in the future.
  6. May I ask what would define a 'C-RPG'? An RPG with isometric camera angles, convoluted interface or whatever?
  7. I actually like romantic optional content in games - Like in the Persona games where they actually come off as being optional. They can be a very sweet afterthought addition to the experience, which serves to boost the characterization of said game's cast. What I dislike about the romances in recent BioWare games is how obligatory token they've become. In fact, they feel more like necessary tools in order to fully develop your party member's character. If one doesn't romance Garrus in ME2 then it doesn't feel like he's learned anything or achieved anything. In ME3 they even had the S/S romances be NPCs (like throwing a dog a bone) although with more personality than some of the actual party members. At this point I wouldn't care much if they weren't in the game altogether, that way one can disappoint all parties but at least nobody would feel left out of punishment.
  8. Unless he's from Norway then the idea of a Brotherhood would be absurd. Hes from Finland, does that count? Nah, they are outsiders to the cool kids club. EDIT: Also I gotta correct myself -- If he's from Norway or Finland, then the idea of a Brotherhood would be absurd.
  9. When we take into account the expensive golden pixels in modern graphics have to be built from, there just aren't enough hours in the day or memory on a disc to have a game as big as Deus Ex 1, when all the characters looked like origami-figurines made out of sand paper. There's no weapon specialization; Adam could swipe up an alien plasma gun and instantly be aware of how to use it. And you get enough upgrades to be skilled in pretty much everything -- In that respect, the gameplay becomes not so much "finding the route that works for you" as "taking whichever one's quickest, then going back to loot all the others for ammo and Mars bars." Disregarding all that and the ****ty boss-fights, which were fixed in a Director's Cut sure, but it kinda needs to be there from the start. It's a solid game.

  11. This is usually what they always do in this day & age - Simply look at Hitman Absolution or Splinter Cell Conviction.Nah, keeping my eyes on Deus Ex Human Revolution. I had high expectations for these guys, even if it was an obvious B-team. My comment was merely meant to point out the ham-handed handling of the stealth genre today -- Putting scripted events and pretty scenery on top as opposed to sprawly sandbox-fun. That's a big no-no. Thief is simply stepping into line. Human Revolution was a great game although it's no secret that it too was severely streamlined which is still distressing.
  12. The interesting premise of class stories is what attracts me to this game and sometimes brings me back - The fact that they didn't see a future of further supporting these class stories disappointed me greatly, and pretty much killed my interest, but I suppose it was inevitable. It would have been a nice contender for a while at least against the beast that is WoW.

  14. The Orlesian-gal companion looks more akin to an Afro-version of Maleficent.
  15. Love this song & the video chosen for it.
  16. I've run into a problem with the game - , and heading to Kenny's house to retrieve a chest I forgot to loot the game suddenly won't save anymore. Everytime I try to save it says progress until the last checkpoint won't be saved. Can this be solved somehow? Or am I missing something? Is the saving system solely based around checkpoints only?
  17. Someone had to. I don't know - Thought the track "Elves at the Mercy of Men" was incredible as well. Perhaps the best. Otherwise I generally agree that Dragon Age's overall soundtrack is meh.
  18. Recently watched "I Love You, Phillip Morris" - Very sweet and funny romantic-comedy based on the exploits of fraud & conman Steven Jay Russel, and one of Jim Carrey's best performances in recent years since Eternal Sunshine. Just goes to show that if you really let him do his A-game then he'll deliver. I love the chemistry between Carrey & McGregor, it's pretty sweet.
  19. Persona 4 Golden again - One of my favorite RPGs of all time. Gonna play that until I'll can get home and play South Park.
  20. Jim Sterling on Escapist seems to have enjoyed it too. Oh, wait, that was already posted in the OP, I guess.
  21. Now if they'd only release Grim Fandango already..
  22. I really like Shadowrun. Will have to invest in the DLC in the future.
