  1. Sneak peek at some new portraits from Kaz here: https://instagram.com/p/0IwsuZpxx2/?taken-by=jesawyer1975
  2. Seems like you care enough to make one of those typical posts that people like you have to make when asking if achievements are in a game. There's always someone who has to comment about how lame achievements are. Guess what, they are optional. Don't like them? Ignore them. If you were a game developer, I would bet all my $ you would put achievements into your game. There are A LOT of different types of "picky" gamers in this world. And a chunk of them will not buy a game if it doesn't have achievements. It's the world we live in today. Deal with it.
  3. That's right (I'm not part of the professional press and there is an embargo until the 23rd). I will be complying with the embargo rules. I am going to do a fairly spoiler free guide to mechanics and gameplay that will most likely only include material you would have already seen from the E3 Demo and the Jesse Cox stream. I will not be showing the spoiler sequence that they turned the in-game camera off for the Jesse Cox stream either. I would also advise that you do not watch that part of any other stream, and experience it for yourself in game. From people who've never played these types of games before, to people who are really good at the IE games - I hope that my guide will have some value to everyone in between. You should be able to, after watching it - jump into the game with less of a steep initial learning curve to the mechanics and rules. Looking forward to your videos! I have watched all of your PoE videos up to this point. Please make a lot of videos for us, especially me since I am very anxiously dieing to play the game on Thursday haha. A comprehensive "beginner" guide will definitely be needed and I greatly appreciate you will remove spoilers from your video. This is one of a handful of games that I want to go in fresh.
  4. Isn't separating +AoE size and +Duration into separate attributes a good thing now? Makes Resolve less of a dump stat. Classes who just want to focus on pure duration can get resolve or who want pure AoE and don't care about duration would pump Int like a Carnage Barbarian build.
  5. Thanks, but looks like the descriptions are also wrong now. How did the formatting affect the error? Also, did you guys read the Perception description? "Perception represents a character's senses as well as their instinctive ability to pick up on details. In interactions, it can be used to catch someone in a lie, to make an observant comment about their appearance, or to notice something happening in the background. In combat, it grants a bonus to Accuracy with all attacks, contributes to the Reflexes defense, and increases the Range of all non-melee spells, abilities, and attacks." +Accuracy +Reflex +Increased Range Troll editing or what???
  6. No, it's not the same as the BB 480. Maybe the editor has some inside information or what for the new Day 1 Patch?
  7. http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Character_creation The Wiki page for the attributes was recently updated and I discovered something interesting, but not sure if it's true since I haven't seen any dev post confirming this? I wonder who edited the wiki for this part? Apparently, Intellect now gives +/- 6% AoE Size and Resolve gets the +/- 5% Duration Again, can't find a dev post on this anywhere. I mean, it's a nice change for sure IMO. Some classes benefit more from the AoE than Duration (i.e. Barbarian Carange) and vice versa or both. Not sure if this is a legit change or what because no proof. Kind of confused. Is this taken from an old BB build or am I dreaming? Could be some error on the editor's part? I know it's never a good idea to trust the gampedia wiki becuase a lot of crap is outdated or incorrect, but I was concerned here because that part was recently updated.
  8. Well I'll be using it to reference things I missed (loot containers, hidden spots, etc.) so it's valuable in that sense.
  9. Exploring every nook and cranny is my one gaming neurotic. But from the Prima guide pictures, seems like I'll have less stress now .
  10. Why doesn't Obsidian just hire him for work on the expansion and PoE2. We all win. I like win/win situations. Cheers bro!
  11. Agreed, because of how engagement works in this game, you should skip/ignore/forget any and all movement speed granting abilities/talents/potions/enchantments/etc. A strong example of this is the Barbarian's Wild Sprint...what's the point? And it's made worse that it's a friggen per rest ability!
  12. We may need clarification from the devs on this. Can anyone let them know about it. I mean, I would hope you could stack debuffs onto flanked. Not a big fan of the overriding character between afflictions that share similar qualities honestly, makes the affliction system bloated and overly obtuse and unintuitive (constantly checking their tooltip descriptions for example is annoying).
  13. Guys, a lot of this information is already outdated (e.g. attributes still being tweaked for Day 1 Patch), but there is good stuff in the Prima Guide if you are looking to not miss any secret weapons or want to do a 100% quest completion playthrofug.
  14. This just got interesting... So is that a bug? Is Flanked even an affliction? Only "afflictions" can override other "afflictions".
  15. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1101898232 Look under the picture on the left hand side. 4 pages to view. Looks great!
  16. What's the difference between Charmed and Dominated? Do you know? Curious, that's all. Charm includes a significant debuff component, Dominate doesn't. The real advantage of Puppet Master is that taking it instead of Treasonous Whisper opens up other first level Cipher powers. There are four good level one powers -- soul shock, treasonous whisper, eyestrike, and mind blast -- so it's a tough call which to take. On the other hand if you want a junk power, right now at least Phantom Foes is the worst one by far, worse even than amplified thrust. All it does is give flanked, and all Flanked does is give - 10 Deflection. There are ten other Cipher powers that will over-write that penalty and make it redundant/suppressed/worthless while also giving some other benefit as well, and your Cipher will end up taking at least one of them. Its only marginal value is if you really want the Flanked effect for some reason, like you have a magic item that gives bonuses against Flanked targets, but that's an edge case and not a reason to take a power. Wait, flanked gets over-written by other afflictions?
  17. I like Tenuous Grasp, you can start many fights by having them kill one of their own. It's kinda cheesy though, as it can be cast outside of combat and out of sight to solo some groups of enemies. What's the difference between Charmed and Dominated? Do you know? Curious, that's all.
  18. Mental Binding is IMO a great power because it paralyzes the main target and Paralyze is a very power affliction.
  19. Interesting, I wonder what he'll be tweaking. Cipher power execution is slightly harder than other spellcasters due to positioning, but there is no extra payoff for that IMO. They should address that.
  20. Baffled by this comment. Did you read what I said? Ciphers need buffs. This is not one of those cases where I think "it doesn't feel right to me, but others might"... Ciphers need buffs.
