Both of them are bad rulers. Vaklu is setting himself up to become a military dictator, and Queen Talia is already a dictator, acting contrary to the will of her people, and worse, a two-thirds majority of her people. I reckon the only good course of action is to execute both for treason, and call immediate elections. Sadly, that's not an option.

Wish Handmaiden could stay in this dark outfit
Reveilled replied to Vashanti's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Dark side handmaiden should have had an eyepatch and combat lines like "Blow tha man down," "Yer treasure or yer life," and "You fight like a cow!" Dark Side handmaiden would have been way cooler then. Oh, and she should have called the Exile "Cap'n". -
Should the ending have been at Dantooine?
Reveilled replied to Reveilled's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think that'd leave an even bigger gap then what has been left already. (and what about Nihilus, Sion and stuff?) Well, like I said, that would leave them available for the next game, and they'd actually be able to make Nihilus the central bad guy you'd expect of the guy front and centre on the box. I'm all for Atris having a bigger role but I don't see how or why she would want to finish off the Jedi council. She may not be a Jedi but she's not a Sith either. If you want a more complete game, it would've been far easier to just have you rally the Jedi together, meet/save Atris, fight Nihilus, fight Sion, fight Kreia, and so on and on, and keeping the other mastesrs "busy" is not too hard. What plotline exactly are you trying to stop from being introduced - obviously something to do with Malachor. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> With regard to Atris, I've read on these forums that in the original plan she was meant to become Darth Traya if you were a LS character. I was just suggesting something to add that back in. I'm not trying to stop a plotline from being introduced (though some wouldn't be if Malachor wasn't present), what I'm trying to provide is an ingame reason for why the plotlines aren't resolved. As it is, things like the Droid factory (and subsequently, the thing with G0-T0 and remote on Malachor) aren't resolved, and there is no apparent reason for them not to be resolved. With this alternative ending on Dantooine, there is a reason: you're dead or trapped. Unlike the game's actual ending, it might be able to achieve an actual ESB-style unresolved ending. Though some plot threads would still be left open, the finality of the ending (all the Jedi have been wiped out, the Exile has been left for dead on the floor of the Academy) would leave people wondering what would happen with regards to those plotlines, rather than what exactly had just happened at the end of the game (as I and many others felt about Malachor). -
I just finished playing through KotOR 2 again, this time as a dark side character. And, like in the LS game, lots of things are left unresolved at the end. However, when I was playing through it and I got to the end of Dantooine part 2, I began to wonder if the game wouldn't be better if it ended when Kreia leaves you unconcious on the floor of the academy. As climaxes go, it's a pretty big one. Also, Kreia's speech at that point has a definite air of finality about it, and if you are seemingly dead, it gives a much better in-game reason for plotlines not being resolved, as well as giving a fairly good point to pick up from in KotOR 3 (for example, you don't die, but Kreia walls you in, and several months later, scavengers excavating the ruins find your unconcious body sustained for all this time by the force). For the LS game, Atris, rather than Kreia could have finished off the Jedi council, with a confrontation with her as Darth Traya at this point, resulting in the academy collapsing around you. Perhaps most importantly, since the effects of the rush to release aren't so apparent until after Dantooine part 2, it would make the game seem more complete, despite the fact that more would have been cut, as well as leaving at least two Sith Lords intact for the third game where they could be fleshed out properly. So, would the game have been better off for an ending at Dantooine?

Ultimate Weapon of the Star Wars Kid

Ultimate Weapon of the Star Wars Kid
Reveilled replied to dufflover's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That's just too similar to be a coincidence. Of course, the thing that would clinch it for certain is whether the moves performed with a force pike are different to those performed with a double saber. Those performed with the double saber would be copying the movies directly, so if the Force Pike moves are different, it must be original or copying something else. And if it's something else, my money's on the SWK. On a related note, one of my goals in life is to spar with the Star Wars Kid. As an amateur staff fighter, the Star Wars Kid is my hero. If only I could be as awesome as he. -
Things you would've added to KOTOR2
Reveilled replied to Topaz Quasar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I picked Lesbian Romances because "make Atton gay like was hinted at during development" wasn't an option.. Imagine the scandal! " -
Well, I can't see your screenie, and I can't really be bothered downloading the armband, but since you're the expert on these things, I'll take your word that they are undiscovered areas. Shame they're empty, though.

If it's the stuff about Party-members fighting each other and all the rest of that "well-known" stuff then yes, I know about those, but nothing on cut areas of Malachor, unless those areas were involved with the cut dialog. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You can actually see some of the cut areas of the Trayus academy in the game. Just head over to the Trayus Proving Grounds and walk as close as possible to the walls. After doing that, look at your map. You will see several bullet point markers in the black void outside of the map. One is a meditation chamber, another is a cell block. Using the reveal map cheat will show you even more of these bullet points. Another interesting thing to note is that if you check your map while in the main area of the Trayus Academy, you will notice that the doors to the Trayus Cresent are called "Entrance to Trayus Prison". This makes me think that the Trayus Cresent was originally the area where you found your party members, while the other path through the Trayus Proving Grounds would take you straight to Kreia. I base this on a cut peice of dialogue (which is still partially in the game) in which Kreia says to Lord Sion "When the exile enters Trayus academy he/she will be faced with a choice. One path will lead straight here to the Trayus Core, the other will lead him/her to his/her friends, though he/she will become weaker for it." <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't know about those with the reveal map cheat, but those ones in the void that I saw roughly corresponded to actual areas on the map if the markers are moved over the map. I think the markers are just in the wrong places, not actual undiscovered areas.

Well, it wasn't anything personal. It was just an itch I had to scratch. The internet net is my only opportunity to be an ass, from time to time. So, what is "leet speak" and how to I deciper it, if necessary? It's fairly simple once you get the hang of it. Basically, all versions of leet fall into two basic dialects: simple and complex. Simple leet is the easiest to read. It involves replacing certain characters with other characters which are similar. A to 4 or @, B to 8, C to (, E to 3, and so on. All you have to do is work out which symbols go to which letters. Complex leet is a bit harder, as now several symbols can be used together to make single characters. For instance |3 is B, and |2 is R. The biggest problem here is that sometimes you can read it multiple ways, for instance |33+ can be B-E-T or L-E-E-T, at which point context becomes important. Also, there are several special spelling rules in leet. The most obvious is that certain words can be represented as single letters. Thus, "you" becomes "u" or "|_|" and "are" becomes "r" or "|2" Another important rule is that of deliberate mispellings. There are some spelling mistakes that are so common in typed English, they are the correct spellings in leet. For instance, the spelling of the word "the" as "teh" is correct in leet. Thus, any time the word the is used, it will inevitaby be spelled "teh", "t3h", "73|-|", "+3|-|", etc. The next most important is that of the suffix "xor". As a basic guideline, any word that ends in "ck" should be spelled with "xor" instead. Also, adjectives ending in "ck" now become nouns, as such, "you rock" becomes "u r t3h roxor". Also bear in mind that two x's are a common variant spelling. Also, the borrowed word "uber" is very common in leet, and is the correct word to use in place of "super" and similar adjectives. Finally, it is worth mentioning (in case you did not know) that "leet" is the leet word for elite. To look at the original phrase then: "You are not a l33t ub0r-n3rd, u R fux043d U f00l" We get "You are not an elite super-nerd, you are ****ed, you fool" This concludes our lecture.

Well, I went through KotOR with a blaster wielder, and personally, it was the most fun playthrough of KotOR I ever did, despite the fact that it wasn't any harder, even without any force abilities at all (I modified my savegame so that I was a scoundrel even after Dantooine). I used Medium armor and dual mandalorian heavy pistols. I'll have to try that again at some point, though I'd first need to find out if I could mod my favourite armour skin into the game.

does anyone provide decent customer sevice? let alone GOOD... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Paradox Interactive. The best post-game support of any company I can think of. Constant contact between the developers and the customers, and content and bugfix patches even after the games reach the bargain bin.

Kotor-II ending is a anti-climax
Reveilled replied to Badsight's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Back when you first meet him at Peragus, Atton talks about Revan. If you tell him that Revan was a man, then Revan is referred to as a man for the rest of the game. -
I was really disappointed with the Bronze crystals. They should have done them like the non-orange sabers, with a white core that faded into a bronze colour. That would have been awesome.

Wow. It's been ages since I saw an old Questionable Content strip (even if that was a guest strip).

The patch will never come out!
Reveilled replied to Burnzzz's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Maybe the patch will come free with Duke Nukem Forever. -
LS Female Revan: Jasha Samarkand LS Female Exile: Saffra Timurin DS Female Exile: Kora Babylon I can remember those because they were named with a theme. The names of my male Revans and the DS Female Revan escape me (and I haven't done KotOR 2 as a male yet).

Did Hearts of Iron II get released in the UK? I haven't seen it anywhere in shops, and I know that HoI1 wasn't released here. I still play EUII on a regular basis. It takes some getting into, but it's probably one of my favourite games for its replayability.

Dialog Skipping *SPOILER FOR EARLY GAME*

Exiting the game altogether and then starting it back up and loading the most recent save usually does the trick for me. For a few hours, anyway. -
20 XP wanted on Peragus, dead or alive
Reveilled replied to Darth Frog's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
But as the second last paragraph says, s/he does mind. The only thing I can think of though is if your difficulty is usually set to normal, setting it to difficult would make the XP gained from disabling mines and unlokcing doors increase. But since you've already unlocked everything, I don't think that'll help you much. -
Who was the better Sith Lord?
Reveilled replied to Jedi Master Revan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Darth Malak. you can't be evil without an evil laugh, and at least one contrived death scene, and Malak had both of them. Malak was a proper James Bond-style villain. "Do you expect me to turn to the dark side, Malak?" "No, Revan. I expect you to die!" -
Missing party members bug(spoilers)
Reveilled replied to Tofuuti's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It is the message that appears when one of your party members is dead, I believe. Of course, your party members don't die like they might in the original version, so the message is not normally seen. -
Also, the Jedi council didn't erase your memory in KotOR 1 as I remember it, you suffered brain damage and they couldn't restore your mind properly. At least the way I interpreted it, they just put the personality they wanted over the top of your own memories and supressed them, which if you went dark side overcame you as your damaged mind slowly repaired itself. If you were light side, your memories simply returned but without the personality.

KotOR 1 is on a par with the original trilogy. You can easily spot the elements of the first films in the first game: Train an adult as a Jedi, stop the evil bad guy, cheesy yet at the same time shocking plot twist. KotOR 2 is very different from the films, and takes itself much more seriously than either the first game or the original films. As such, I don't think they can really be compared.
