  1. I would prefer keeping the party limit at six, simply because I really enjoyed the party size of six in the first Pillars of Eternity and because I found the party size of four in Tyranny severely lacking in terms of banter, combat complexity and overall 'feeling'. That, and the fact that a five man party size is an immediate sign of giving in to console fanboys who want a simpler, more arcade like Diablo III style experience and will undoubtedly form a prelude to a later Call of Duty like shooter spin-off. <edit> that, and a five man party also breaks my immersion :D
  2. First of all, thank you very much for your hard work Fluffle. It is very much appreciated. Second of all, donate everyone! Let's at least get this up to $1500. If everything else fails, we can still comfort ourselves with the thought that we put a Black Isle Bastard out there in the form of the 'Be an NPC award' .
  3. I would love options A, C or D. Fun ideas, and cheap and easy to implement. I already donated 25 dollars, but please do let us know about the minimum amount to donate later so that I can up that amount if needed:).
  4. Im super duper excited for this too. We know that there are three subclasses per class. So that means 33 total, with the possibility of dual classing. This means that there are a total of 1089 combinations. However, if subclassing is optional, this raises the total to 44. Thus with multi-classing, the final total is.....1936! Wowzer! And Boeroer is going to make a build for every separate class combination. Right? Right?! :') Apart from that, I'm very excited about the fact that the main city will be even bigger than Defiance Bay, and about its beautiful scenic backgrounds, allowing you to look down at its lower levels from up high.
  5. I'm glad to see people are interested in this pirate crew anyway. Hopefully, more people will donate once we discuss and flesh out our ideas regarding the pirate crew and ship more . That's something I'd like to contribute to once I'm a little less busy at work.
  6. I just donated 25$. It's a fun idea, and I'm happy to help Obsidian create more great games no matter whether we fund the pirate crew or not.
  7. I could chip in 25$ in order to help reach the total of $5000. As for the questions below: B B
  8. Great news. I'm looking forward towards reading it .
  9. Finally, a just and even distribution of power in skills. I declare the monk completed and finished. No further skill revision necessary.
  10. Congratulations Reent. And thank you and Harpagornis both for your exciting tales. They have truly been a pleasure to read.
  11. Do we have any confirmation Tiranny is set on Eora? Because I am very skeptical of it. I was just joking guys. The two worlds have nothing to do with each other .
  12. The world of Eora will unavoidably be overtaken by Kyros the overlord, making this a moot question. That said, hypothetically a focus on the Vailian republics would be nice. I would also be grateful for the inclusion of limited pirate elements, such as making subsequent strongholds a boat and adding a small region with a Brynnlaw-like atmosphere, or a thousand and one night atmosphere, such as an Arabian palace full of intrigue, a princess, an evil grand vizier and a djinn. That said, I second the above by Gromnir. It would be wise to be cautious with adding extra levels, especially given the immense amount of currently available spells, the meta game knowledge required to use them effectively and the currently available high level enemies.
  13. Well, I'm a very experienced gamer and certainly had difficulty defeating the adra dragon on hard the first time around. Now I'm playing on PotD and I couldn't defeat the Alpine dragon until my party was level sixteen. As for my girlfriend, she hardly ever plays videogames and had no trouble completing the game on easy the first time around. Yet, she can't defeat the adra dragon because to do so requires quite in depth knowledge of all spells and mechanics. All in all, I wouldn't say that PoE's mechanics are that accessible. They require a lot of knowledge, which is something more casual players might not have interest in to acquire. Story mode seems like a nice addition then.
  14. If you look up Harpagornis his Noober challenge, you can see that he soloed PoE on PotD with a level one ranger. http://pastebin.com/3b6zF0k0 Please check the above link if you want to see how he did it. Perhaps it can help you make your choice between rogue or ranger .
  15. Good idea, and in my opinion it would fit role playing purposes too as thick slabs of muscle and fat can serve as some measure of protection against injuries. That said, I would reduce your suggested values to 0.25 per point. I for myself agree that constitution is an interesting dump stat, but at the same time think that it does not need that much more to make it much more interesting and potent.
  16. For what it's worth, I recommend anyone to look up other posts by Brimsurfer on these forums and see whether you can't discover a pattern. In various other topics too, you will find a similar dynamics: complaining in a vague or obtuse manner;refusing to accept advise or criticism; refusing to clarify his own position; only to then repeat his same old argument and thus 'stirring up the pot' again. That is not to say Brimsurfer has no valid point to start with. However, rather than refusing to advance the argument beyond its original position, it would be nice to show a more cooperative and productive attitude in the discussion.
  17. Looking at coffee tables post: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/66254-update-79-graphics-and-rendering/page-2 Is that a white March part two render early 2014?
  18. You might want to PM AndreaColombo to have him include your new guide into the upcoming PoE character builds sticky. Obviously Noober's adventure deserves an honorable mention
  19. You need to have one disposition point in 'cruel'. Having multiple disposition points in cruel actually makes a surprising amount of characters respond to that fact during dialogue, so it's worth the effort to gain them, in multiple ways.
  20. Congratulations Harpagornis, you wrote Pillars of Eternity history :D. It's been one hell of a ride, and I admire your energy (for completing your challenge while you're already occupied), your persistence (in completing this challenge) and your enthusiasm (as shown by your lovely stories). Thanks for sharing this with us.
  21. Playing on PotD, without a priest: N. 1: Alpine Dragon N. 2: Lengrath N. 3: Concelhaut I managed to finish Lengrath with relative ease at 14 by equipping my party with anti beast equipment, engaging the adds first and having my rogue take Lengrath out ASAP. Even so, I had to wait until level sixteen before I could take the Alpine dragon out. I have no idea how other people are able to finish the alpine dragon at level eleven or even lower..
  22. Your link doesn't work for me. It tells me I need to be logged in, in order to edit the nexus page. <edit> great mod idea though. Thanks a lot for your work .
