  1. That as well, thanks Gorth. *wants Uther back*
  2. It's The Ashen Age Part 1, byt Sliptip. The Circle has an article about the author if you follow the url in the link. And meh, I prefer Thief 2's gameplay(tap-sneaking, cameras, no apparitions, Life of the Party), but Thief 1 has superior athmosphere and story. Edit: About GoW, the part where they get back from the Caverns and stop over at the Historical Society(you can see these huge flags on a building), there was a definity Hammerite feeling. Otherwise it felt more like playing in a Hive City from WH4Ok society, even the Cogs were more like Ultramarine First Company Tyranid-hunters. The cog symbol though, I can't help but to think of Mechnists all the time. My friend wonders why I always laugh at it. Edit2: I need Thief Gold. I still haven't played it.
  3. It's the freakin Haunted Catherdral, you have to kill all the Haunts. I can't be arsed to do that.
  4. Food is essential. And walking, the more you walk(don't run unless you wish to vomit) the quicker it passes, since it burns the alcohol residue much faster than just sleeping. Obviously. Walking has saved me after many rock concert.

  5. More like "Stoic Watchman"
  6. Sorry, not all of us are graphic whores without taste.
  7. Graphically? Agreed. Surpassed in any other way? Nah, never.
  8. Pfft. You could argue that both Thiefs had worse and worse mission design the further you got. And you still would not be right, since both late games have so many bright spots as well. Just like in Thief 2 Casing the Joint and Soulforge were horrible, but Life of the Party the best mission ever, both Undercover and Return to the Haunted Cathedral are awesome while Strange Bedfellows and The Maw were less than stellar in Thief 1. Much less. Usually when it comes to arguing over Thiefs, there's the people who hate supernatural stuff and the ones who can't help but love it. Often people prefer one game over the other based on which one they played first, but since I don't know which one it was for you, I'll go on a limb and say that you played the second one through and never finished the first. Otherwise you wouldn't bother with lies like "better mission design" or "better story". Seriously, you thought the whole rust gas business with Karras made a compelling plot? Heck, I was just following the thing because the missions kept being decent. Truding deep into the City's pagan plots was far more interesting, especially since Garrett actually had a reason for following the plot besides the archaic "let's save the world". I'll grant that the narrative was better in Thief 2, in Dark Project it took longer to get the plot going and any hooks in place(Assassins) and ther weren't many ties to the main plot arch until The Sword/i], while Thief 2 started throwing them to you after Shoalsgate Station and didn't let go. Maybe you just don't like the supernatural elements there. Too bad.
  9. Also, on Expert you can not kill. Well, you can't kill humans. Different things on the other hand...
  10. lolz u wer axed, Accydude. Now then, I suggest you add one more "womenfolk", Xard. Good measure and all.

  11. Ah, Cragscleft. Zombies, machinery and fanatism. Gotta love it. That said, it's time this thread-robbing ended.
  12. No no, lots of levels just open up more if you play on the harder difficulties. Your objectives on Normal don't take you to all places in the levels and on some, you can't even enter them until Expert(like the third mission, Down in the Bonehoard ). Just replay the game on Expert to get everything out of it.
  13. Unreal was a singleplayer game, though the multiplayer was very good as well. It even had an expansion, Return to Na'Pali, iirc.
  14. I own that game, I do not need any others.
  15. Fanmissions... *drool* I took a break from them after Christmas and now I have around 18 new ones to play around with. Some of them look fairly decent:
  16. I recommend playing on Hard, Normal is for reviewers wihout time. And each difficulty gives new areas and quests, instead of harder enemies. Take care though, Expert is really that - expert. I still can't get through all Dark Project levels on Expert. I can almost ghost Thief 2, but DP is something altogether different.
  17. Man, I wish I could still find Myth 3, I never played it, but heard nothing but praise. There even was an extra official campaign for it, iirc. Unless I'm confusing it with TA:Iron Kingdoms' Chimera.
  18. With the athmosphere Two Thrones has, Inon Zur has raised to a fave status in my book.
  19. The Most Hated Man in Denmark. Poor sod, can't remember a thing.
  20. original in Gorth's sig.
  21. That latter one looks cool. Although the original works better as a gag.
  22. My dad pesters me with the looming upgrade to Vista. I've hated it since Longhorn. I do not need suped up graphical OS, I can do that with java decently enough already.
  23. Hey, this box is mine.

    ...and Xard's.
