I had some Space Food today. yum.

I have confidence and reliability in Logic and Reason and the Laws of the Universe. I don't need to believe in something like religion that has obviously been man made such as the Church of Scientology created by L Ron Hubbard and Christianity and Islam which have also been created by man.

Band of Brothers. Never seen it before as I always put it aside for other things to watch. Good story and the concentration camp scenes was unbelievable. So many memorable moments and good to see a different view on things that happened and already been shown in movies like A Bridge too far and Battle of the Bulge which I've seen many times. Off to watch The Pacific now.

All your links do is confirm the pictures are true and used in context. The story from News.com.au is about the Danish cartoons and Lawyer to sue Danish newspapers for libel. The pictures are from demonstrations "taken in February, in London, during a demonstration against the Danish cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammad."

NEARLY 95,000 descendants of Mohammed are going to sue ten newspapers for publishing "blasphemous" cartoons of the Prophet. http://www.news.com.au/world/descendants-o...i-1225843489852 Gotta love the pic in the link. Notice the spelling mistake? Unless it's established in the courts that the religious figure: 1) Actually existed, AND 2) Is in some way directly related to or contacted by God Then it should be dismissed. I mean otherwise it's like suing for someone bagging out Batman! Many historians suggest that maybe there was no Muhammad as we know him today - but rather a figure erected at the behest of his "Companions" who needed a Christ-like figure for their own emerging religion. This would go a long way into explaining that absence of historical record and imagery of the Prophet. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/3...pg2.html?cat=49 Also, "Muhammad Sven Kalisch, a Muslim convert and Germany

I have to ask, did you even watch last season and the first episode of this season? Otherwise you would know there are two time lines. The original time line when everyone crashed on the island in 2004 and the alternate time line when the island blew up in 1977 and is at the bottom of the ocean and the plane never crashed in 2004.
-
The only problem with that is Jacob did see Sawyer in 1976 and did give him the pen to write his revenge letter before the island blew up in 1977.
-
Finished watching Season 1 & 2 plus the unaired pilot of Dollhouse. Good TV show. I liked it.
-
Yes. No. Good Sawyer never crashed on the island. The island is on the bottom of the sea in Good Sawyers timeline.

I thought it was Widmore's guys that killed them.

Next week is a Richard episode so hopefully it should be good.

? You can also get meat substitutes that look like meat. I've noticed a lot of chinese shops here in Sydney sell it. Looks and tastes like meat but it isn't. http://vegetariancuisine.suite101.com/arti...for_vegetarians

I was waiting for a torpedo to be fired and kill them all.

There doesn't appear to be enough meat in these episodes to sink your teeth into and there are more questions being asked than answers given. It appears most of the answers are going to be crammed into the finale at the rate we're going.

I noticed you pick Black Hawk Down but conveniently didn't mention Saving Private Ryan. And I never suggested The Hurt Locker should be like Black Hawk Down. I was talking about War movies in general. There are better war movies than The Hurt Locker. And Saving Private Ryan is about Private Ryan from when we see him at the start of the movie, throughout the movie and at the end of the movie. We find out about himself and his brothers, why he can't remember them and Tom Hanks says he has to think of a context, then he remembers. We find about Private Ryan as a person as well as a soldier and the complexities of his character as well as his guilt. And he asks the questions to his wife at the end of the movie "Tell me I have led a good life", "Tell me I'm a good man". Saving Private Ryan was a great movie, good pace, good story, good characters, etc. If you want a good war movie pick up anything other than The Hurt Locker. If you want a boring, slow, tedious, nonsensical war movie go see The Hurt Locker. Responses from veterans have been: "distracted by the nonsensical sequences and plot twists that it will ruin the movie for you", "Some of the scenes are so disconnected with reality to be almost parody", "just about everything wasn

Actually, Avatar won Best Picture and Best Director at the Golden Globes. http://www.getthebigpicture.net/blog/2010/...den-globes.html Also, it's interesting how much the Golden Globes and Oscars mirror each other with the wins.

I think you can do it for the money and not necessarily be a hack. Jean-Pierre Jeunet did Alien Resurrection and I'm sure he was doing it for the art and not the money. Although that's debatable. I can imagine him saying: Bonjour. Je m'appelle Jean-Pierre, I am an arteeest. Au revoir.

The Academy was so fearful of a Sci-Fi Action film winning, they voted for a movie in spite of a movie. It wouldnt make sense shooting down Avatar with a Tarantino flick as that is just replacing one renegade with another. So they settled for the "serious" film. It was also in their interest to make history with the first woman to win as best director and best movie. Whatever. The Hurt Locker took me two sittings to finally get through to the end of this movie. Tried to watch it once before but after

The Hurt Locker. Tried to watch it once before but after 1/2 an hour I turned it off from boredom. This time, watched it with my girlfriend and her niece and managed to get through to the end. Was a struggle and we all agreed it was long, boring, tedious. It was to show the girlfriend that even boring movies can win an Oscar.

HBO will proceed with GRRM's Ice & Fire Series
Hiro Protagonist replied to Guard Dog's topic in Way Off-Topic
Never heard of this series but according to wikipedia it's a fantasy based series. Great stuff as long as it's done right. Just skimmed over the wikipedia article and noticed both an RTS and an RPG game are currently in development. Sounds like there's a few companies getting behind this series. Hope the TV series will be good. -
This is how I see the story. - Apple outsource their work to factories - These factories use 15yo's to make parts - Apple performs a voluntary audit of their factories - Apple discovers illegal child labour, corrects the problem - Apple publishes their audit on their website, for everybody to see - Media fabricates a sensationalist story because it will sell papers - End result: other companies will think twice before doing voluntary audits BTW, I'm not an apple fanboy. I just dislike the spin in the media.
-
Apparently, they need to be 18 in China, we can conveniently ignore our own child labour so we can bash any large corporation that outsources in other countries that may be profitable.

I wonder if my iPhone was made by a kid? If so... damn fine work!
