It's a landmark case and first trial of its kind in the world. I've heard quite a few international people were used in the trial so it appears this may set a precedence in other countries. Here's a short but interesting link showing what happened in court this morning. Full Judgement including summary. Long but very interesting. It includes some interesting chapters on internet protocols and how things work. Also included at the bottom of the judgement are all the films and tv shows that must have been used in the trial. examples: Chapter 61. .torrent file The term -

China has hissy fit about US arms sales to Taiwan
Hiro Protagonist replied to Humodour's topic in Way Off-Topic
You really need to do a bit of history if you're going to use analogies when comparing China and Taiwan to other countries like Australia. Here's a hint, Australia and Norfolk Island. Not a good analogy but there are some similarities. eg. Taiwan and Norfolk Island have their own elected Governments and Norfolk Island is not represented in the Commonwealth Parliament of Australia even though Australia 'owns' Norfolk Island. Also, Norfolk Island doesn't have the same taxes as Australia does. eg. When goods are imported to Australia with a final destination Norfolk Island, those goods don't pay any Duty/Taxes and are transhipped (usually from Sydney) to Norfolk Island where the local Government runs their own Duty/Tax system. Norfolk Island isn't an independant country even though it 'sort of' acts like one. -
According to Wikipedia, Lindelof has also indicated that Walt's unusual abilities may be explained, although this may not necessarily require the character's direct involvement. not according to Wikipedia. But then Wikipedia could be wrong.

For some reason I thought that was a girl monkey. but in one of the cartoons he says he's a boy.

I had one of those in my shoe one morning about three years ago. Drove to work and thought there was a bit of cardboard near my toes. When I got to work, I sat at my desk, took off my shoe and one of those fell out. I screamed like a little girl and nearly had a heart attack. They're actually quite harmless but they will give you one heck of a shock when you see one. A friend had one drop from his sun visor, while driving through the Sydney Harbour Tunnel and nearly crashed into the side wall. Nearly gave him a heart attack and he says he's lucky to be alive that he didn't hit the tunnel wall.

What is the story about anyway? I've been watching it and I have no idea where it's going.

Downloading solves the problem of the censors.

yeah especially with a soldier from Earth's future is sent back in time and materializes on a city street in the present. Same with a robot which looks like a man but has a robotic hand going back into the past to find out he is not a man but a robot.

Similar thing here. My girlfriend has now gotten into Lost and we're finishing off Season 3 at the moment. She's really hooked into it now and it's also good for me to watch everything again as I've now picked up on a lot more things on a second time through.

It was so hot and humid in Sydney. I walked down to the beach at around 9am yesterday and after 1/2 an hour of walking along the beach and turning back to walk another 1/2 an hour back home, I was drenched in sweat. Stayed at home in the comfort of air conditioning. Just doing my part for Global Warming.

That dance could become an internet phenomenom! I also liked the idea of some writers warped idea of reversing the people/fish idea of having people in a fish bowl while the fish are outside looking at the humans.

Let me ask you a couple questions...

No, never read them and they were never taught at my school when I was a kid. However, I did watch the 1954 Animal Farm cartoon (when I was a kid) on TV and the message I got from it at the time was, as long as you were able to get your way up to the top, you'll be better off than being one of the workers down at the bottom of the food chain. eg. Politican, Doctor, Manager/Boss, etc are better off than a Nurse, employee, etc. -
Maybe because we're not in the North Atlantic. It's better to have geographic alliances in a particular area than no alliance at all. Otherwise you will have countries fighting all over the world.

The Road. Quite a slow paced movie but liked the post-apocolaptic look. Also, I liked how Man found the can of coca cola in the vending machine, reminded me of Fallout 3. The realism was quite good. Cannibalism by people ala Fallout. Also, no food anywhere they went unlike Fallout where there is food and medical surplies strewn around the wasteland.

Generally are the Serbs Christian and Bosnians Muslim? And the Serbs tried to wipe out the Bosnians with the ethnic cleansing? Is that oversimplying it or am I just way off the mark.

What about writing about Manga and how it's different in Japan compared to comics in western countries. In western countries, adults reading 'comics' are often ridiculed.

HOLY FRAK! Haiti got hit with a 7.0 Quake!

Strange how one group of people (eg. Conservatives) always complain about other groups (eg. Liberals) not giving as much as they do to charities. -
Just came across a TV show called Archer and finished watching the first episode. This is a classic. Funny as ****. Top stuff!

I'd like to see an uncut definitive version of Waterworld. The initial filmed script ran at over five hours. The original director's cut of the film was trimmed and submitted to the studio at a length of around three hours, however the theatrical cut was eventually released at 136 minutes. The ABC network did show a 177 minute Extended version but even this was heavily edited with language, violence, action and some nudity as it was being screened at a time when minors could see it. Maybe one day we'll see the full version.

I was reading something about Ann Coulter (who I think is a fruitcake) but anyway, an article about Charity v. Socialism and I saw this statement "Research shows that Liberals tend to give less to charity than Conservatives. It's one thing to use other people's money to support what you believe to be a good cause. It's quite another to use your own money. The former is a form of socialism. The latter is charity." Funny, because unless charities ask if you are Liberal or Conservative, then how would they know if Liberals give less than Conservatives?
