Daybreakers. Not too bad. It was okay.

You're suggesting torture has never worked and truthfull information has never come from someone that has been tortured?

As a Tea drinker, I can assure you Coffee Breath does exist and it's as bad as smokers breath depending on the type of coffee someone drinks. Coffee Drinkers don't notice it just like smokers don't notice their smokers breath. Non-Coffee drinkers (just like non-smokers) can smell Coffee Breath. I find Coffee Breath can be so obnoxious and foul that it can make me dizzy. A google search on Coffee Breath will net you over a million hits and some funny stories from people's experiences. So it does exist. And it is different to other acidious drinks like Tea. Tea isn't as acidic as Coffee and you don't really get Tea Breath as bad as Coffee Breath.

Coffee Breath is nearly a bad as smokers breath. Unfortunately coffee drinkers are like smokers, they don't realise how bad it is.

Every intelligence agency does it. You're not going to get any information by just asking nicely.

Hypothetical scenario: Mr. X is known to have very close ties to Organization O, whose members have been convicted for committing random acts of violence against innocent civilians in the past. State Security Organization S has intercepted information that an attack on a population center identified only by codename is imminent. As a precautionary measure, all members of Organization O have gone into hiding, save for Mr. X. Procedure P is proven to be a reliable method for extracting information from uncooperative subjects, but will subject the individual to considerable physical pain and mental stress. It will, however, leave no lasting scars. Question: would it be wrong for S to detain Mr. X and subject him to P in order to acquire the information necessary to prevent the attack? Aye or Nay? The only thing missing is the Codename E for the attack on a population center. and then everyone in your scenario could go to SEXPO and have a big party.

Alcohol should be made illegal too. It does more harm than cigarettes.

Come to think of it, it was a bit slow and boring. It seemed to be one of those episodes that took a while to set things up for the next few episodes.

Good episode. Now we're going to find out what happened with Claire.

It's a new series that started today. I think I might watch the first episode tonight and see what its like.

I was browsing new TV shows and came across this show called Past Life. Is this any good? Interesting premise if you believe this stuff. From Wikipedia - the TV series was inspired by "The Reincarnationist," a crime thriller whose main character, Josh Ryder, solves a 21st century crime with memories and clues from his past life in ancient Rome.

In other news, Family sued by person walking in a park from inhaling smoke from a BBQ. BBQs are now banned in public places. And children are at harm with BBQs by their parents in their own backyard.

Same here. I grew up in a country town and a lot of people smoked. Uncle smoked, next door neighbours smoked. It was everywhere. I didn't smoke because I didn't get it. I agree with Pidesco, it isn't psychotropic so I never understood why you would want to spend money on something that I couldn't get any perceptible feeling from - other than looking 'cool'. Interesting enough, when I moved to the big smoke (Sydney) it took me months to climatise to the smoke and pollution and had to go to hospital and be put on a ventilator machine which did nothing. Doctors couldn't understand what was wrong with me and why I couldn't breathe properly. After 3 months, I was okay again. If I had children, I wouldn't bring them up in a city.

That's nice. Violence is not the answer. That's why they never learn. They just want to kill each other. -
Sounds more like series/season end thing. I read somewhere, could have been Lostpedia, that they were going to merge the two times lines at around the 6th episode.

There was a really good interview with Michael Malone from iiNet on the ABC. Here's a link to the transcript. Interesting to note is this little bit: WHITNEY FITZSIMMONS: Michael Malone, can you tell me what percentage of iiNet's traffic goes through BitTorrent? MICHAEL MALONE: We don't know. WHITNEY FITZSIMMONS: But didn't you say in the case that it's at least 50 per cent, if not more? MICHAEL MALONE: No. We've got statistics from global sources that say that that's what's suggested across US networks. That's dropped, by the way. Again, looking back to the (inaudible) - since legitimate versions were made available in the US, that's dropped from 50 per cent down to about 30 per cent. So as long as you give customers an alternative which is legitimate, they take advantage of it. WHITNEY FITZSIMMONS: So you have no way of telling how much of your traffic is going through BitTorrent? MICHAEL MALONE: We could look at what's being used by BitTorrent, which we haven't done, but we could, however that still wouldn't tell us what's illegitimate. WHITNEY FITZSIMMONS: But it would suggest that a large amount is illegal because a lot of people use BitTorrent to illegally download. MICHAEL MALONE: But a lot of people use BitTorrent for legitimate purposes. There's applications such as World of Warcraft, which you're probably familiar with, that uses BitTorrent. Now that's transparent to World of Warcraft users, but it's a perfectly legal usage of it. If you're looking at things like using Linux to do your updates through, that uses BitTorrent. Democracy for IPTV uses BitTorrent. These are perfectly legitimate versions of BitTorrent, and we can't look into those packets and say what was legal and what was not. WHITNEY FITZSIMMONS: So, are you sensing some sort of reluctance from the entertainment providers that they're unwilling to come to the table and do some sort of deal with you? MICHAEL MALONE: Most of the issue -
I had a look at the new DCU movies coming up and that isn't listed. I'm guessing it's a fan made film. It would be good to see something like that though.

I think they will merge them and we'll see it over the next few episodes.

Yeah I think it's pretty straight forward. This courtcase is Not like the flood gates have now opened and it's open slather to pirate. Nothing has changed here in Australia. If you download you can still be prosecuted. All this court case does is the ISP can't turn off your internet connection because of allegations from an industry lobby body like AFACT saying that you are pirating. AFACT wanted to be the police and go to ISPs and say Person A has been downloading pirated stuff, now turn their internet connection off. The ISPs argued that any copyright infringement that is going on will be forwarded to the Police and they'll let the police follow it up with due process. The ISPs weren't going to go off allegations made by a lobby group and start turning off internet connections left, right and centre. -
Setting off the bomb had two possibilities, it either sent them from 1977 to the present or sunk the island. They're just showing the two possibities. I just don't know why they're showing two alternate universe's at the moment. I would have been happy for them to come back to the present and leave it at that. There must be a reason why they're showing another alternate universe and showing the island sunk.

I didn't think there was any doubt for me that Nemesis = Flocke = Smokey. I always thought it was the case. However, I don't really see the point of the thing. They could have finished the story without it but I'm sure all will be explained. It just seems they are making it even more confusing with doing it. And it seems that only Jack could see Desmond on the plane and nobody else.

It's interesting to see the commercial TV stations in Sydney didn't have anything about this case but ABC and SBS did. It was the second news story on SBS. I mentioned this case to a couple of colleagues at work and they were like... huh? They knew nothing about this. Clearly, it isn
