  1. If you poke a hornet's nest, you have to expect to get stung.
  2. It's the catchphrase that so many run to. Just wait until something happens to Varys and everybody will be up in arms. And it will be blamed on his baldness because that must be the reason. Soon we'll have things like Bald people being offended by people with hair soon, and baldness will be classed as a disability. Meanwhile, my employer spoke to me in a manner I find upsetting, can't work gotta go suck my thumb in my safe place for half an hour.

  5. I found the travelling between places in the Shannara Chronicles to be too fast. It didn't seem like an epic journey they were on. They set off to go somewhere, and 15 minutes later, they're there. The worse case of this for me was when they were coming back from Safe Hold and they were at the Ellcrys in no time and felt like they did it in a few hours of travelling, when I imagine it would have taken them weeks.
  6. It's also amusing to watch when I tell them to put the keys in their pocket and don't take them out. They walk to the car, the car will unlock when they pull the handle, they get in, start the car, turn the car off, get out and lock the door with a sensor on the outside - with the keys still in their pocket. I'm also a visual guy with the dash board. I just love the modern visuals. Also like the voice activated GPS, mobile phone and messaging. My gf finds it funny when I receive an sms, and then I respond with talking to the car and send a message back.
  7. Not only have I given up on life with driving a front-wheel drive, I also drive a hybrid. Since driving a hybrid Camry for the last 12 months, I couldn't go back to a normal car. The silence is so peaceful and I'm in my own little bubble without any noise. Can't even hear or feel the engine when you turn the car on. Sometimes I jump in my gf's Honda to fill it up with petrol and I'm like 'woah, this is a noisy car'. And then I realise, that's how normal cars sound. I've had friends who've never driven a hybrid jump in my car and turn it on just to show how quiet it is and I'll say, 'the car is now on'. And they're like 'wtf? I can't feel or hear anything!'. And I'll say, see that ready light on the dash?, that's how you tell it's on. And they'll get out and put their ear to the front of the car and they'll be like, 'wow, I can just hear it'. I was a little sceptical at first but now I couldn't see myself driving anything but a hybrid. It's a company car with unlimited fuel so I can't complain.
  8. That seems like a lot for a car that's 10 years old and with that sort of mileage on it. Actually, I just did a google search on Acura as I've never heard of it before. Acura is the luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Honda. The brand was launched in the United States and Canada in March 1986, marketing luxury, performance, and high-performance vehicles. I'd have to ask, is it really worth the money?
  9. It's as if someone dared Trump to run for President as a joke and he's decided, why not? And now he's enjoying the limelight and having a good old ride on the election train. It's almost like Trump is trolling us but it's gone so far he can't back out. I'm just waiting for the inevitable train wreck to happen, although some people might think this election is a train wreck already.
  10. Meh, it'll all be overturned or forgotten.
  11. I was just thinking what has Obama achieved in the last 8 years? Something that really stands out. I can't think of anything. Sure he may have attended an opening for something, or a charity. Nothing really memorable sticks out to me. He's been pretty boring imo. And when I think of GWB, man I could write pages. This is why I want Trump to win. The controversy, the gaffes, the Trumpisms. Exciting times!
  12. Yes, I watched New Amsterdam last year and that was a good show too.
  13. I pray every day Trump will win.
  14. Forever. Damn, that was a pretty good show. Sort of a mash up with Highlander, Elementary and Castle. Pity it was cancelled after one season but it sort of finishes at the end of the season anyway. No real cliffhangers which is good.
  15. Paid the stamp duty today on the property I purchase last year. That was a lot of money that went down the drain. Settlement is on 21st of this month. Didn't realise it was that long ago that I signed the contract. Time flies.
  16. I think it's a brilliant move the Republicans playing the Trump card.
  17. Agent Carter - Season 1. Heard it was good and decided to check it out. Glad I did. It's kind of like a sequel to the first Captain America movie but set in the 1940-1950s as you see what happens afterwards. Two different stories playing out after the movie with the TV show showing the past as well as the new movies showing the present. I really like that. Intruders Interesting series by Glen Morgan, writer from the X-Files. First couple of episodes started off slow but by the middle it turned around. Cancelled after one season but still enjoyed it. Eleventh Hour (UK) with Patrick Stewart. Only four episodes but quite good and always good to see Patrick Stewart. There is a U.S. remake made a couple of years later with Rufus Sewell which I haven't seen, but will check it out some time to compare it to the original UK version.
  18. I'm not a gambler and don't gamble at all. When I did go to Vegas, I decided since I'm here I might as well try it just to say I tried it. So I walked up to the window, placed my dollar bills down and said, 'Can I have $3 worth of quarters please'. The lady just looked at the three $1 dollar bills, looked up at me, looked back down, took the bills and changed it and said, 'good luck'. She probably thought it was my last three dollars I had. I did win some money, just enough to buy me dinner and the amusement ride at Luxor. So I thought I came out al right in the end. Never gambled since..
  19. Well, the X-Files has wrapped up. The more I think about it, the more I realise there wasn't enough episodes. From the old seasons, there were usually a half dozen episodes that dealt with the mythology throughout each season and the rest of the season had Monster of the week episodes that filled in the rest. The mythology story for this season comes across as being told in about the same number of episodes (half a dozen) but was squashed into two: My Struggle and My Struggle II. While I liked the content, it would have been better presented over more episodes. The season should have been in the range of 13 episodes at the very least. But with the actors being older now and with other commitments, that may have been harder to do.
  20. I agree with Raithe. I didn't mind Season 5. It was a good epilogue to the series and explored things they probably wouldn't have had time to get around to. Definitely one of the best endings to a series I've seen. Interesting, the ending of Season 5 was the original ending of Season 4 not knowing if it was going to be renewed, but they reshot the Season 4 finale with another episode. I also agree that watching the four other movies 'In The Beginning', 'Third Space', River of Souls', and 'A Call to Arms' is better to watch after Season 5. You could watch them in between seasons but I always watch them after. And then onto Crusade. Crusade is another kettle of fish with the episodes being shown out of order. There's some lists on the internet which debate which order they should be seen. Definitely don't watch them in the DVD order.
  21. Australia. Live in Sydney next to the beach. It's been a nice 28°c (82°F) today but feels milder inside. Love the sea breeze coming in and the smell of fresh air. We haven't had the aircon on all summer as the breeze keeps the place cool. Have lived in Brisbane for 3 years (a few years ago) which is more humid and sub-tropical. Was nice to go swimming, kayaking and surfing in Winter when it's around 70°F but eventually moved back to Sydney due to various reasons. Mostly work and family related. Sydney has more of an extreme temperature range than Brisbane but I do prefer Brisbane weather. However I prefer Sydney as a place to live for other reasons than just work and family. Sydney has other things like more gaming groups (D&D, Traveller, etc), more comic book stores, more sports groups, generally more of everything else that I like.
  22. Been used to 25-40c (77-104F) weather all my life and have lived rural but prefer the city life. Live next to the beach and very much an ocean person.
  23. Sense8. Heard many good things about this and had put aside to watch later. Just watched the 4th episode and this is brilliant.
