  1. I always had a view years ago that DC was more story driven and Marvel as artwork driven, or at least known for those qualities that stood out for me when I was in a comic shop. Generally, if I wanted a story (eg. Vertigo) I'd read a DC Comic, if I wanted flashy artwork it was Marvel. Now, I think they're pretty much the same and as KP said, it comes down to the bias of the reader or writer.
  2. A number of governments and organisations have already done this. I'm wondering why this is news. I don't understand why the FBI went public. If anything, I find it funny that the FBI asked for Apple's help when at least one US government department already had the means to do this. Why they went to Apple baffles me.
  3. Episode 4 and 7 shot comparison https://vimeo.com/160263943
  4. It was posted in the funny things thread. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/83235-the-funny-things-thread/?p=1786710
  5. Hiker gets tired, calls in chopper. An "unfit" hiker who scaled a mountain near the NSW-Queensland border had to be airlifted from the summit after becoming too tired to walk down. http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland/unfit-hiker-rescued-from-mount-warning-20160329-gnsvot.html
  6. It goes by the moon.
  7. I'd have to agree with GD. I'm similar with traveling around the world, happy with what I have and accomplished, financially secure and don't have to worry about money, been with my partner for the last 8 years and I've lived a fulfilling life up to this point imo. I'd have an easy last day.
  8. Colony. Quite good but has a lot of questions to be answered. I hope the writers know where this is headed because it comes across as making it up as they go along.
  9. Yes, my immediate reaction was where is the actor Alan Ritchson who played Aquaman from Smallville. But I do appreciate the effort put into it.
  10. Nice cop out. Why doesn't that surprise me.
  11. What was the 10% that was right?
  12. What was the 10% that was right?
  13. Oh boy. This needs a new thread.
  14. Had a nice lunch with the girlfriend at the local pub. Rump Steak, chips and salad with peppercorn sauce and a beer to wash it down. It's becoming a little tradition we have every Wednesday where we leave work for an hour (our lunch hour is an hour each day anyway) and go to the pub and have a nice lunch. Back to the office for an hour or so to finish up some work and back home to relax. Great to leave work at 3.30pm every day and back home within 10-15 mins.
  15. Having time to reflect and digest all this, I'd have to say the jurors were quite lenient and Gawker got off mildly.
  16. I'm in no hurry to see this or any other superhero movie. I'll just wait until they're released 6 months or so down the track when they come out online and watch them then..
  17. Jurors were probably gamers.
  18. Is it safe to travel through Europe? Always wanted to have a holiday travelling through Europe and now I'm not too sure.

  20. I found Escape from New York a far more entertaining movie with it's amazing cast, suspense, and style. Lockout was just a run of the mill action movie albeit Escape from New York in Space. We'll have to agree to disagree. YMMV.
  21. Watched Hungers Games Mocking Jay Parts 1 & 2 back to back. I held off watching Part 1 until Part 2 came out. Glad I did because it was seamless when Part 1 ended and Part 2 began. Like they literally cut one 4 hour movie down the middle and made it into two movies. Also watched Divergent (again) and then Insurgent. Can't wait for the next two sequels. Decided to give Lockout a look. A complete rip off of Escape from new York but in space. While watching it I thought, okay this is a rip off and not at all surpised Carpenter won a law suit against Luc Besson. I did like this part from the article though:
  22. I would vote for Volourn. He's made more sense than a few people in this thread.
  23. Sometimes, I can never tell who the hornets are. It looks like one big hornets nest. Just that one side tries to make out they're harmless bees but they're hornets as well.
  24. I'm not blaming anyone. I know not to stand a foot away from a hornets nest and start yelling at it. The hornets won't appreciate it and I know I'll get stung. I'll be across the road peacefully protesting. The hornets will see me but will most likely ignore me. It comes down to common sense and respect. I respect the hornets and use common sense to be some distance away so I won't get stung.
