  1. Oh boy. This needs a new thread.
  2. Had a nice lunch with the girlfriend at the local pub. Rump Steak, chips and salad with peppercorn sauce and a beer to wash it down. It's becoming a little tradition we have every Wednesday where we leave work for an hour (our lunch hour is an hour each day anyway) and go to the pub and have a nice lunch. Back to the office for an hour or so to finish up some work and back home to relax. Great to leave work at 3.30pm every day and back home within 10-15 mins.
  3. Having time to reflect and digest all this, I'd have to say the jurors were quite lenient and Gawker got off mildly.
  4. I'm in no hurry to see this or any other superhero movie. I'll just wait until they're released 6 months or so down the track when they come out online and watch them then..
  5. Jurors were probably gamers.
  6. Is it safe to travel through Europe? Always wanted to have a holiday travelling through Europe and now I'm not too sure.

  8. I found Escape from New York a far more entertaining movie with it's amazing cast, suspense, and style. Lockout was just a run of the mill action movie albeit Escape from New York in Space. We'll have to agree to disagree. YMMV.
  9. Watched Hungers Games Mocking Jay Parts 1 & 2 back to back. I held off watching Part 1 until Part 2 came out. Glad I did because it was seamless when Part 1 ended and Part 2 began. Like they literally cut one 4 hour movie down the middle and made it into two movies. Also watched Divergent (again) and then Insurgent. Can't wait for the next two sequels. Decided to give Lockout a look. A complete rip off of Escape from new York but in space. While watching it I thought, okay this is a rip off and not at all surpised Carpenter won a law suit against Luc Besson. I did like this part from the article though:
  10. I would vote for Volourn. He's made more sense than a few people in this thread.
  11. Sometimes, I can never tell who the hornets are. It looks like one big hornets nest. Just that one side tries to make out they're harmless bees but they're hornets as well.
  12. I'm not blaming anyone. I know not to stand a foot away from a hornets nest and start yelling at it. The hornets won't appreciate it and I know I'll get stung. I'll be across the road peacefully protesting. The hornets will see me but will most likely ignore me. It comes down to common sense and respect. I respect the hornets and use common sense to be some distance away so I won't get stung.
  13. If you poke a hornet's nest, you have to expect to get stung.
  14. It's the catchphrase that so many run to. Just wait until something happens to Varys and everybody will be up in arms. And it will be blamed on his baldness because that must be the reason. Soon we'll have things like Bald people being offended by people with hair soon, and baldness will be classed as a disability. Meanwhile, my employer spoke to me in a manner I find upsetting, can't work gotta go suck my thumb in my safe place for half an hour.

  17. I found the travelling between places in the Shannara Chronicles to be too fast. It didn't seem like an epic journey they were on. They set off to go somewhere, and 15 minutes later, they're there. The worse case of this for me was when they were coming back from Safe Hold and they were at the Ellcrys in no time and felt like they did it in a few hours of travelling, when I imagine it would have taken them weeks.
  18. It's also amusing to watch when I tell them to put the keys in their pocket and don't take them out. They walk to the car, the car will unlock when they pull the handle, they get in, start the car, turn the car off, get out and lock the door with a sensor on the outside - with the keys still in their pocket. I'm also a visual guy with the dash board. I just love the modern visuals. Also like the voice activated GPS, mobile phone and messaging. My gf finds it funny when I receive an sms, and then I respond with talking to the car and send a message back.
  19. Not only have I given up on life with driving a front-wheel drive, I also drive a hybrid. Since driving a hybrid Camry for the last 12 months, I couldn't go back to a normal car. The silence is so peaceful and I'm in my own little bubble without any noise. Can't even hear or feel the engine when you turn the car on. Sometimes I jump in my gf's Honda to fill it up with petrol and I'm like 'woah, this is a noisy car'. And then I realise, that's how normal cars sound. I've had friends who've never driven a hybrid jump in my car and turn it on just to show how quiet it is and I'll say, 'the car is now on'. And they're like 'wtf? I can't feel or hear anything!'. And I'll say, see that ready light on the dash?, that's how you tell it's on. And they'll get out and put their ear to the front of the car and they'll be like, 'wow, I can just hear it'. I was a little sceptical at first but now I couldn't see myself driving anything but a hybrid. It's a company car with unlimited fuel so I can't complain.
  20. That seems like a lot for a car that's 10 years old and with that sort of mileage on it. Actually, I just did a google search on Acura as I've never heard of it before. Acura is the luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Honda. The brand was launched in the United States and Canada in March 1986, marketing luxury, performance, and high-performance vehicles. I'd have to ask, is it really worth the money?
  21. It's as if someone dared Trump to run for President as a joke and he's decided, why not? And now he's enjoying the limelight and having a good old ride on the election train. It's almost like Trump is trolling us but it's gone so far he can't back out. I'm just waiting for the inevitable train wreck to happen, although some people might think this election is a train wreck already.
  22. Meh, it'll all be overturned or forgotten.
  23. I was just thinking what has Obama achieved in the last 8 years? Something that really stands out. I can't think of anything. Sure he may have attended an opening for something, or a charity. Nothing really memorable sticks out to me. He's been pretty boring imo. And when I think of GWB, man I could write pages. This is why I want Trump to win. The controversy, the gaffes, the Trumpisms. Exciting times!
  24. Yes, I watched New Amsterdam last year and that was a good show too.
