The REAL state of the USA : Fact vs Fiction
Hiro Protagonist replied to BruceVC's topic in Way Off-Topic
How can you disagree that there hasn't ever been any great civilization without a founding religion, if you don't even have a definition yourself of what "civilization" and "religion" is? -
I do have a computer with an SSD but was updating another one. Was also re-installing some games and came across DA:O which I never finished. Decided to re-install it and remember I had some dlc for it as well. Went to the BioWare site and it redirected me to the EA site. Started putting in some email addresses to see if I was registered or if my old BioWare details had been transferred across. To my surprise, one of the emails was a match, reset my password, logged in and there's all my dlc. Will probably get around to playing this some time down the track.

CW should be called the DC network. Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow Mega-Crossover Coming http://au.ign.com/articles/2016/05/19/flash-arrow-supergirl-legends-of-tomorrow-mega-crossover-coming

Computer was acting a little flaky so I did a complete re-install of WIndows 7. Wow, it's running like grease lightning.

That looked more like an elbow to the boob than the chest. Just call it boob and be done with it.

I'd have to agree with tipping. It's something that's not done around Asia or Oceania. Never came across it in China, Singapore, or Hong Kong. And we don't do it in Australia. And I don't recall seeing it in countries like Fiji.

IE works for me. Also, after posting OMD's If You Leave, I seem to be on an 80s kick. Been watching some great songs.
-
Yes, you're quite right. He's going on ignore so I don't see his trolling anymore.
-
Everything works for me. Might be a browser issue depending on what browser you're using.

Another song released 30 years ago. 21 April 1986. Amazing it was written and recorded in under 24 hours. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPmTGFg06zA edit: youtube link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPmTGFg06zA

Interesting insight into the U.S. media

Yes of course I recognize these societal problems in Sweden Finally.
-
Asking what? Lay off that marijuana Bruce. And yet you still won't acknowledge the big (I would call massive) problems that Indira pointed out. Why won't you acknowledge them?
-
Ah Bruce. Even Indira said, "For years and decades to come, this will bring high costs and big problems." You don't want to acknowledge that at all. Also, why don't you send some money? And how do you know if I have or have not an affinity for refugees? All I've said, there is massive problems in Sweden (maybe because I've done some research which you clearly haven't) and Meshugger has been right all along with the likes of people such as yourself who dismiss all this as being nothing serious at all. I'd have to applaud Indira for his honesty as there's at least one other person on this forum who can recognise the problems aren't small and not be so dismissive as to trivialise them as has been shown in this thread.
-
You're admitting Sweden has some societal and integration issues. What are those issues? And we can determine what you think is not serious is really not serious at all. For example, Meshugger's post with cars being burned, police and firefighters and ambulances being attacked aren't serious at all for you.
-
I haven't been following the European refugee crisis that much due to real life and stuff. So when I had a spare moment, I decided to sit down and read some things about it and one country in particular (Sweden) kept coming up with some alarming statistics and various other things. I then went back over the last 6 months or so of news reports and interviews, concentrating more on Sweden and comparing to other countries (eg. Norway, FInland) are handling the situation in their countries as well. This is all on the internet and the information is out there. But I think you are right in that if someone brings up Sweden and say it appears they have massive problems, people are now like 'huh, watcha talkin about? haven't heard anything about Sweden, so what's the problem?'. Or they're so used to the problems in countries like Sweden and become desensitised to it all that it's now become normal.
-
According to Elerond and Bruce, no major problems at all. Nothing to see here folks. Move along.

Hurlshot brought up his six figure salary and how he can't buy a house. Shouldn't you be asking Hurlshot that question? I didn't ignore the fact you work in Cupertino. And with Gilroy, I mentioned I was going by your profile. I was only working on the information at hand. I'm also not interested in your financials. I'm merely stating that this is a common occurrence with people earning six figure salaries and struggling to make ends meet. Google is your friend and I just googled ($100000 salary struggling) and that gave me results worldwide and there seems to be a common theme between a lot of those results - keeping up with the joneses and lack of financial planning.
-
Nice deflection. You avoided the 'keeping up with the jones' part of my quote as well as your own financial problems.
-
Not at all Hurlshot. It sounds more like a financial problem by trying to keep up with the joneses. It's quite a common problem with people who are earning 6 figure salaries but struggling to make ends meet.

Parents + 2 kids doesn't mean you need a 4bd+ house. Just because you have two cars doesn't mean you need a two car garage. You can't park your car in the driveway? Also expecting to live in a million dollar suburb added to your check list? If you're going to have that sort of search criteria with a list of things that are outside your means, then of course you won't be able to afford to buy a house with those conditions. It's why people usually buy houses further out to live within their means.
-
Bruce, how does your post even remotely make any sense to my response to Hurlshot? Hurlshot said, "I'm making six figures". That's him I assume. Not combined with his wife. And then Hurlshot goes on to say, "They are being bought for millions, making it nearly impossible for the middle class to afford." A quick google search in his area according to his location on his profile comes up with these: http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-search/Gilroy_CA/pg-1 http://www.trulia.com/for_sale/Gilroy,CA/36.8534993825,37.2015930148,-122.032600647,-121.463371521_xy/11_zm/ Now I don't know what real estate websites Americans use, but these homes are not in the millions. And then you come on and troll about Australians not caring about wealth. Again, how does this relate to earning 6 figures and not being able to buy a house?
-
Oh, trolling again. ok.
-
Huh? No idea what you're talking about. Time to lay off that marijuana Bruce.
-
Millions? If Gilroy Ca is where you're looking (according to your location), a quick google search comes up with a lot of houses and not in the millions.
