He is self taught :D , but yeah his artwork does nothing for me either..

They really don't do much for me; I agree with the IGN (reviewer) who said it looks like an episode of clerks. I like Tartakovsy other work a lot better.

I don't care for the older movies or the prequels, but the Death Star scene in 3-D would be pretty cool (if it wasn't just tacked on).

As hot as you want her to be, young padawan.

Its too bad they didn't follow up on that in the sequel that much. I would have liked to see a Bhaal kid luau or something.

Best 'fall to the Dark Side' in a game?
Zero replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Computer and Console
This will sound lame as f#$k, but I'm going to go with Sephiroth (from FF7). When you get to party with him; he just seems to kicks ass and he comes across as a nice guy. To put it blunty hes kind of a king among men; than he realizes what he is (or how he was created) and everything goes to hell. His abilities , his disposition, mean nothing as he is nothing like all those around him (so the rules that apply to them no longer apply). Basically any meaning has been sapped from his life along with his humanity. The implications this has for the protagonist is obviously quite serious if you played the game. To be fair I was a screwed up 14 year old when I played this in 1997, and I haven't played it since. So I may have read a lot of this into the game.. and seeing how SquareSoft's primary focus seems to be on creating the prettiest pretty boy in the world above all else ; this may be the case. Its hard to tell  -
I'll go with the one other guy/gal who voted for Squareenix. Won't happen, but it would I think it would be interesting to play through...than again I wasn't a fan of the first KOTOR at all...so I guess I'm not as invested in the idea of keeping it similar (gameplay wise). KOTOR 2 isn't doing much for me either so far.

The trailers look good; that one black cop with the uzi looks badass. Del Toro looks like he does a good job as a low life. Unfortunately I have never seen a Rodriguez movie that I liked. Depp was the only good part of Once Upon a Time in Mexico...the rest of the movie was boring as hell. Edit: Might be good though...the music in the background is cool as hell

I thought the endings for Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee was pretty good at the time...thats a western game. I don't think endings are the only thing that suffers in a large portion of western rpgs; the whole structure of the games isn't exactly designed to deliver great storytelling. Japanese rpgs determine who your character is and how he/she interacts with those around them. That gives them a lot to work with thematically speaking. They can manipulate things however they want to convey the kind of message they need to convey. Not to mention I think JRPGS tend to cater to a specific niche in the gaming community, whereas CRPGS seem to try to cover a lot of bases (from those craving scantily clad women to those looking for shakespeare in game format). I mean in western rpgs the protagonist tends to be really bloody bland (in order to be accesible to a large audience I'm sure) and their involvement with other characters rather superficial. Planescape was actually rather good in that respect..so that may not hold entirely true... Maybe thats not a valid point. I'm not entirely sure what I'm getting at...I think what I'm saying is that when you have a game that would work best with a certain type of protagonist and you let say a crude jacka$$ take his place, its very hard to make the story have the same kind of meaning. If you aware of this while you are designing the game, i think it would be very hard to create an ending that isn't lacking in emotion in order to cater to the large amount of character personalities possible. Choice is the enemy of good storytelling..unless your a really good storyteller and have a lot of time on your hand. (sorry if this is all too obvious or just repeating whats others have said)

You're not alone.

I use to obsessively play WoW when it first came out, but now I can't bring myself to play it all. The world and setting is very cool , but the whole time playing felt very futile. You (I) can't really shake the feeling that the game is merely designed to drain your time and your money. As it takes hundreds of hours to reach the highest plateau, and even then there are gazillion other players better than you. MMORPGS tend to make me feel like an ant rather than a hero, which I tend to prefer..and WoW was no different Again its art and such is great..definite saving grace if thats all you care about.

I just recently beat it, and I liked the previous FF a bit more. Maybe its because there were a larger variety of locales, and the story was tighter. Still characters like Green Genie and Tombstone had cool designs.

I liked the art in Ico and Mark of Kri.

Xenosaga II is coming out soon, if you consider that a rpg.

I saw a bit of it on Cinematech. They showed a clip where a gladiator wins in the arena and than yells at the crowd "Is this what you call entertainment? MEN KILLING EACH OTHER LIKE ANIMALS!?" . Something like that..really turned me off.

Baldur's Gate. The world of Fallout makes me suicidal.

I'm going wtih Fable , too. Except that I really didn't enjoy it that much.

What is your least favorite character?
Zero replied to Darth Nole's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
From her description , I'm going to have to go with Mira also. The infusion of a bad ass profession like bounty hunting with the superhero trait of not killing is lame. -
I want shorter combat, so I don't have to look at a bunch of dorks standing in one place shooting lasers at each other for 5 minutes.
-
Yeah thats what I thought too.. Malaysian or something.

I prefer the short haired blond girl as Revan, personally. I think there is a chance Revan is still alive, after all you do tell the game if Revan was female or male. So I just think they'll just use artistic license to create their own Revan. I really wouldn't mind..even though I'm sure others would. I never felt Revan was my character..so *shrugs*

thanks kiro. hippie, I mean the guy who literally killed her father, not the pedophile. The guy with the silver hair, white suit, skull ring , and katana.

Nice to see I'm not the only one who disliked Bastila.

Not sure if this helps any.. Remember seeing this a while back, and was able to find it... seems related.. David Gaider : "How interesting. If you listen closely to the tenets of the Sith, it seems quite reasonable on the surface. Who doesn't want to be free? They also, however, espouse freedom from the restrictions of morality... they are a superior people, gifted with the Force as few others are and therefore handed a genetic right to dominate the less-gifted. Sound a little familiar to anything else you've ever heard of? Maybe it should. I based the Sith teachings as I wrote them in Korriban on Nazi philosophy. Think about THAT for a moment.
