  1. I just noticed the quote edit, bwahahahaha. So so sad. even using trumpisms? https://www.google.com/search?q=trump+saying+so+sad&rlz=1C1CHFX_enUS699US699&oq=trump+saying+so+sad&aqs=chrome..69i57.5647j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 indeed. HA! Good Fun!
  2. will do. am suspecting we will, as with most gifted related searches, find little worth the time spent, but we will try. HA! Good Fun!
  3. sweetness woulda' been 64 today. http://www.nfl.com/videos/all-time-greats/0ap3000000476696/Walter-Payton-career-highlights-NFL-Legends john mckay, first tampa coach, would make all his teams watch The Perfect Play by a RB. were a devastating block by walter, resulting in a 3 yard pass. different time. different cat. happy birthday sweetness. HA! Good Fun!
  4. am wondering if we can find a similar post from gifted from a few years ago when republicans were doing their bestest to hold up every Obama effort and appointment. hypocrisy aside, governmental gridlock as gifted describes is the single most important reason for continued protection o' fundamental American freedoms. is not Bill of Rights which protects freedoms. the soviet union had more freedoms guaranteed to citizens via controlling documents. on paper, China has more significant personal speech freedom protections than does the US. every sub-Saharan dictatorship has got the equivalent o' a Bill of Rights. an executive separate from legislature along with a genuine bicameral legislature (not like English house o' lords nonsense) and an independent judiciary, all designed to maximize gridlock arising from petty discord, is precise why gifted's freedoms is protected. an effective democracy is the single greatest threat to your freedoms as any bare majority may alter such 'cause o' momentary whim or even bare-naked malevolence. because o' gridlock, is much more difficult for legislature to respond immediate to mood o' the people, and as we is able to see, a chief executive is unlikely able to impose his will on a nation by fiat or decree thanks to gridlock. bill o rights is words-- is admirable words. nevertheless, in addition to the near universal American belief in the importance o' fundamental rights, the real protection o' your freedoms is precise the gridlock which gifted laments. if a slim majority in Congress backed by chief executive power and influence cannot convince the minority o' the wisdom o' _______, then such stuff should not become law. such gridlock is a founding principle and perhaps the greatest gift o' the Constitution. … thank God for mitch mcconnel. am not a fan o' the man, but thank God even so. mitch could very easily go along with trump demands to alter the filibuster rules. democrats started the "nuclear option" nonsense during Obama administration regarding all appointments save Supreme Court Justices, and republicans responded in kind with Gorsuch appointment. mitch has refused to budge on filibuster and other efforts which would diminish gridlock. thank God. am suspecting 100 years from now, when trump is not but a footnote, mitch may get proper respect for his efforts. maybe not. even so, as unpopular as protecting gridlock is, doing so is the most important means o' guaranteeing gifted freedoms today and in the decades yet to come. HA! Good Fun!
  5. is funny. bush is somehow given credit for starting the war in iraq while at same time he is portrayed as a kinda bumbling bumpkin. bush somehow mind zorked the coalition nations into following his lead, no doubt through the sheer force o' his charisma. and the iraq resolution, passed in part by a democrat controlled senate by something like 75 to 25 (am forgetting exact numbers) were clear the result o' bush's machiavellian machinations. sure, bush couldn't even get a republican controlled house to reign in clinton era bank deregulation, and even had one o' his vetoes overturned in an act o' party defiance which with the benefit o' hindsight makes him seem like a modern day cassandra, but somehow bush were the guy responsible for war in iraq? is all kinds o' things for which we blame bush as the guy responsible. 2004 campaign attacks on kerry were scurrilous and dishonorable. actual and/or tacit approval o' "enhanced interrogation techniques" post 9/11 were shameful. lord butler's panel vindicated the infamous "16 words" in bush's 2003 state of the union, but intelligence were not near as strong as the administration portrayed it to be. abandoning the kyoto protocol. etc. war in iraq were hardly a one-man sh!7 show, no matter how convenient such would be for folks trying to rewrite history. converse, trump blunders has been almost entire solo precise 'cause he cannot build consensus abroad or at home. a President with a majority in house and senate has rare accomplished so little, and what he has done were managed through hastily written, and often bungled, executive orders. international we need not worry 'bout an iraq war from trump 'cause is no way we see him build a coalition to invade anybody, though perhaps the chief executive and putin worked out their own molotov-ribbentrop pact during their two-hour private meeting. solo. trump has been offering a parade o' personal blunders and lies from day one o' the Presidency when he directed spicer to lie 'bout crowd size. HA! Good Fun!
  6. am willing to accept the proposition that Gromnir is playing nicholson's role and is a smidge crazy, but it not change our ultimate question: is this as good as it gets? is this the final "solution" to what would appear to be a pernicious bug? perhaps obsidian gave it 100% effort and still came up short on a solution. not ideal, but am recognizing how in game development any number o' desirable fixes is ultimate sacrificed on the altar o' pragmatism. however, in light o' changes resulting from obsidian balancing, we stopped playing a couple characters after tens of hours invested in respective games. our hope were retrain would be fixed at some point. so, we needs ask again: is this as good as it gets? we do not necessarily need a fix, but an answer would be o' little cost to obsidian... and it would be the right thing to do in any event. if this is the terminus o' efforts to fix retrain, then tell us so. HA! Good Fun!
  7. defending trump in spite o' frequent ludicrous statements has become the norm for his base. is a curious phenomenon. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/after-putin-meeting-trump-voters-mostly-dig-in-but-cracks-are-showing/ar-AAAdMAu?li=BBnb7Kz&ocid=spartandhp on many/most fiscal issues, we align with republicans. am more simpatico with the textualists, so regarding Court decisions am gonna be more likely to agree with those Justices (mistaken) identified as conservative or republican. am more libertarian than republican, but for vote purposes, we tend to vote republican particular at the national level. hasn't been a libertarian candidate who did anything other than embarrass him or herself when addressing foreign affairs issues, so makes particular difficult to vote libertarian beyond State-level. heck, we live in a gated community where virtual every resident who chose to put up Presidential campaign signage before most recent election, did so in support o' trump. *chuckle* is kinda a joke in the neighborhood that Gromnir is only adult male who did not serve in military and reach rank o' at least army captain. virtual everybody is ex-military officer, and those guys tend to vote republican. on paper, we look like a garden variety republican. can't figure out what the hell is wrong with our republican friends who defend trump. "at least he is better than clinton." ok, am not necessarily agreeing at this point regarding to trump superiority, but we understand and empathize with such a sentiment. however, compare to clinton and find clinton wanting is not same as defending trump blunders. am not needing go through the laundry list o' trump mistakes, but am simple baffled by the typical republican defense o' their guy. yeah, the polarization o' American politics has become extreme enough such that folks is no longer able to be reasonable. defense o' trump takes on a personal quality for those who voted for him. even so, there is an almost psychotic break from reality regarding trump, and it does exist both directions. given trump attacks on media, am not surprised they, as a whole, vilify trump beyond what seems necessary. the chief executive is constant making comical errors, so is no good reason to indulge in excessive editorializing to expose his questionable fitness. more than a few folks on the left is as rabid as the folks on the right. fine. most o' us agree the excessive polarization is bad, but is not some kinda excuse to defend trump's indefensible. honest, am not seeing a way to correct the current psycho slide into a kinda mainstream adoption o' frothing reddit nerd rage. democrats are gonna have to get their act together and promote a moderate candidate, 'cause republicans ain't gonna dump trump and an extreme liberal candidate in response to trump will make polarization worse, not better. four years o' a competent and moderate President, regardless o' party, will erase some o' the current emotional gridlock the populace is suffering, but am not believing problem will be solved so easy. thanks to internet and changes in media polarization, this new dynamic may be more the norm than a historical aberration. regardless, there isn't genuine defense for trump comments. can't look for one to explain trump defenders. defense is on an emotional level which ignores reason. HA! Good Fun!
  8. every patch rebalances talents and skills and items. most o' the low level buffs, such as holy meditation, got buffs. on the other hand, triumph of the crusaders, a level four talent available to our contemplative only after reaching level ten (not level one) got a significant nerf post release. obsidian made changes to our character after we invested tens of hours into a game. the point o' retrain is, in part, so we need not restart a game to take advantage o' changes to game by obsidian or due to epiphany moments resulting from many hours o' gameplay. this "fix" results in us utilize a restart to take advantage o' the correction... which largely defeats the need. oh, and in the very definition o' "people unclear on the concept," you miss the fact that it is the level one abilities which we lose with retrain in a pre 1.2.2 scenario. the reason for the complaint is we is robbed o' the highly efficacious level 1 monk abilities we chose at character creation by utilizing retrain. *insert eye roll here* HA! Good Fun!
  9. American Truck Simulator is my joke way of describing my real life truck driving career. converse, harvey birdman is exact like our real life job. HA! Good Fun!
  10. watched the recent twitch stream wherein developers were asked lore questions. more than once, the answer to a question were a recognition that josh would know the answer to the query. ... am hopeful josh has taken extra effort and put pen to paper so all the pillars lore is existing elsewhere than josh's noggin. then again, perhaps josh has already done so and is simple that not even fellow obsidinaties has been able to muster the patience to read mr. sawyer design docs. HA! Good Fun!
  11. so, the fix we have been waiting for since release is arrived, but from practical pov the actual solution available to us is same today as it were in may and june: restart game with a new character. HA! Good Fun!
  12. 'cause Congressmen and Governors is noble altruists who is uninterested in power? regardless, am finding an absence o' a few days lead to predictable silliness. defense o' trump Helsinki performance by folks we would expect to defend the indefensible... resorting to putin-like deflection and false equivalency. am admitting the absurdist nonsense came outta nowhere, but gonna write it off as aberrational. however, instead o' laughing at wackiness related to trump comments and corrections, am gonna instead take a moment to have a bit o' a guffaw at the expense o' tennessee, which is admitted a bit like mocking the disabled kid with MS who happens to be an orphan, but... http://time.com/5342879/tennessee-confederate-flag-license-plate/ HA! Good Fun!
  13. 1.2.2.0033 retrain a level 12 contemplative results in the a loss of level 1 monk abilities. and trolls are still resistant/immune to fire damage due to regeneration... works exact opposite as intended. HA! Good Fun! edit: read patch notes moments ago. the retrain fix is serious not retroactive? only works with new characters? … obsidian realizes the need for retrain is in large part due to changes made by the developers with each build, yes? have a retrain fix not apply to characters created previous to 1.2.2 is... curious. question: is this the end o' obsidian efforts to fix retrain retroactively? we got a couple characters we have been sitting on, metaphorical speaking, while waiting for a retrain fix. is there a point in waiting a bit longer, or has obsidian given up efforts for a retroactive correction to the retrain snafu?
  14. can't believe am gonna respond. *sigh* am thinking is kinda obvious how obsidian is using entropy. the ultimate heat death o' the universe is gonna be the end result o' entropy... possibly. rymrgand isn't embodying the chaos one thinks o' when entropy is mentioned, but rather the inevitability o' collapse and decay. the god o' entropy need not stir himself to inject chaos into a system as the entropy is inevitable. fundamental. given a long enough timeline, cold and dark and inert will be all that remains to bear witness not only to the greatest works o' man but to the brightest stars in the night sky. the joker claims to be an agent o' chaos. liar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BavcnnmOsjg the joker always has a plan. the very method by which joker seeks to adds chaos to a system is in itself doomed. am suspecting rymrgand would laughs at the joker's efforts. a thousand years? ten thousand? the ruins o' karnak will eventual be swallowed by sand or ground by time into dust. so it goes for all. HA! Good Fun!
  15. note to gd: we choose to not ignore a poster's history simple 'cause they added an emoticon or meme. try pretend as if Gromnir has never read a gd post regarding the many faults o' the current dominant US political parties is cute. will take as a given this time your palpatine inspired gloating over party buffoonery is even more hyperbolic than is typical. wouldn't change our reply. HA! Good Fun!
  16. rare do we do the "what i did today" stuff unless something unique genuine happened, but am current feeling sore and a bit sorry for our self and am too weak to get up and get more watermelon kool aid, so am gonna post instead. did the skunk hollow portion o' the american river trail on our bike. is s'posed an "intermediate" trail, but gots significant elevation changes in a couple areas which tends to emasculate us. am hardly a real bike guy. over the past couple months we have been getting 'bout 75 miles a week... on roads. not flat roads, but nice paved roads even so. am s'posing the only reason we keep doing skunk hollow is some weird kinda need to prove to self we ain't getting too old and/or lazy to do a trail like skunk hollow... and is still better than running. am gonna now collapse (again) on our keyboard. HA! Good Fun!
  17. 'cause every time in US history a political party has fallen into disrepute, it has been replaced with a more enlightened option... and 'course the option o' "destroy" is less than inevitable. in fact, am not seeing any reason why there need be a kinda critical mass for polarization. the (de)evolution european political parties would suggest polarization has no upper limit but instead, the rough beast slouches interminably towards bethlehem. am admitted a bit curious as to why burr hasn't received more attention, particular from modern liberals tired o' the established founding fathers narrative. is a popular pastime 'mongst hobbyist historians to paint heroic figures o' the past with a bloody brush. criticism o' jefferson and washington, franklin and adams is, as often as not, warranted. recognition that men, even great men, is almost universal flawed or broken is hardly an epiphany worthy observation. delve deep enough and you will find darkness. good. those great men should be appreciated for what they accomplished w/o willful ignorance o' their failures and foibles. even so, one would think with all the revaluation o' revolutionary heroes, more folks woulda' stumbled 'pon aaron burr. no less flawed than his contemporaries, burr actual stood for and fought for those core modern American values we often fallacious ascribe to the founders. a genuine revolutionary war hero, ill-treated by many o' the foremost founders, a man who believed in equality for women, freedom of the press, the abolition o' slavery, and that all people should be judged on their merits rather than their place o' birth or family name would appear to be the kinda guy the new age historian would notice. one event is the legacy. so it goes. HA! Good Fun!
  18. hogwash. the the failed fig tier for ydwin were not simple to apply an arbitrary label to an existing sidekick which could, theoretically, reduce her development. utter nonsense. companion v. sidekick is not some kinda fixed technical definition. companion v. sidekick distinction is as much a term o' art as it is a recognition o' an insular and discreet characteristic. use sidekick descriptor is, first and foremost, shorthand for developers to be explaining difference in development a joinable npc will receive. rather than need explain where new npc development fits on fuzzy ie spectrum o' baldur's gate 1 to ps:t, or some other wholly contrived measure, we got simple and relative clear notion o' what to expect from a new character. similar to deadfire rekke or fassina development? more along lines o' xoti and aloth? assume no sidekick v. companion label existed. assume there were no salient influence tracking mechanic. given such, what woulda' been the obvious, most obvious difference 'tween characters such as pallegina and mirke? even without folks counting the actual number o' possible companion/sidekick interactions, a curious exercise performed for reals by a few curiously industrious deadfire fans, any who played deadfire other than solo woulda' had little difficulty seeing polar divisions 'tween joinable characters based on amount o' interaction possible. any argument as to whether serafen would belong in the more developed character or less developed character category? 'course not. sidekick is more than a technical distinction based 'pon lack o' a influence mechanic. go to a burger place and get a double-cheeseburger and then complain it gots almost two times as much fat and calories as a single? the discerning burger grammarian, enraged by the lack o' menu specificity o' the in-n-out chain, makes a pilgrimage to the baldwin park location o' the iconic purveyor o' burgers and sets his in-n-out double-double ablaze outside the drive-through window in a protest (not)reminiscent o' those revolutionary-minded bostonians dumping tea in the harbor. huzzah. sure, the "double" might be read to simple refer to number of meat patties and cheese slices, and is various means by which caloric and fat content o' a double could actual be reduced compared to a regular cheeseburger. smaller bun. less sauce. leaner meat. etc. nevertheless, a typical customer, a reasonable customer ordering the double cheeseburger is gonna expect more than from a single, and with good reason. have burger maker play games with purchaser expectations is bad business. because the most value in such labels as sidekick and companion comes from being able to communicate to purchasers appropriate levels o' expectations, and recognizing how deadfire developers clear divided actual interaction opportunities different based 'pon sidekick v. companion distinction, it would be unreasonable to ascribe companion interaction mechanic applicability as the sole raison d'etre for label. if vatnir is described by developers as a sidekick, then is safe to assume you will not see development on par with deadfire companions. HA! Good Fun! ps am gonna recommend always opting for "mustard-grilled" when ordering in-n-out burgers, with provisos that such an inclusion is unnecessary if one chooses "animal style." pps #1 hope for beast of winter: a fix for the freaking retrain feature.
  19. our first thought after watching the most recent twitch stream were that somebody at obsidian is a fan o' the 1982 conan movie. HA! Good Fun!
  20. The US sure has come a long way. hmmm. http://time.com/4292836/forget-hamilton-burr-is-the-real-hero/ unlike hamilton, burr were a genuine hero o' the revolutionary war. burr were wide respected as honorable and progressive. hamilton for petty reasons, and jefferson for more pragmatic motives, attempted to destroy the reputation o' mr. burr. hamilton, a member o' burr's own party, were metaphorical driving a knife into burr's back during the election. is doubtful burr woulda' shot hamilton over losing the Presidency, but the underhanded way hamilton went 'bout attacking burr's reputation and honor were another matter entire. am not certain today is genuine progress. yeah, killing a man over slights real and perceived is hardly our ideal method o' conflict resolution. sadly, nowadays, as were the case in the day o' burr and hamilton, cowards on the Hill (or nearby addresses) will resort to mass media and rumor mill to fight destructive and petty wars o' attrition wherein truths is the first casualties. progress? perhaps. more o' a horizontal step from our pov. regardless, am thinking is a mischaracterization (or at least an oversimplification) to suggest the burr and hamilton duel were fought over the resolution o' a Presidential race. HA! Good Fun! Actually IIRC it was not a presidential race. It was for Governor of New York. And Burr blamed Hamilton for slandering him as part of the reason he lost. Hamilton was opposed to Burr for his involvement with the Federalists as I remember. It's been a while since I read all that so I may be mis-remembering. yeah, there were a long-running feud 'tween hamilton and burr with the exclamation point, as it were, the loss o' the federalist nomination for governor and then loss o' Governor race by burr. the overt slanders by hamilton began a couple year earlier during the Presidential race were continued by hamilton and his fellows. 'course burr were not "vice President" at the time o' the gubernatorial race, so given your earlier comments we saw you as speaking more broadly o' the conflict which really exploded with the Prez race. regardless, it weren't the loss o' a political race which resulted in the duel. personal attacks o' character which the aggrieved party would not abase himself to respond to publicly were the cause o' the disagreement. HA! Good Fun! Brevity is the soul of wit. Sometimes details are omitted and maybe even misrepresented. They are always relevant in a historical discussion but not so much on general comment on comparing political civility (or lack thereof) now and then. Hamilton wasn't the Treasury Secretary then either. They did try to kill each other and the main cause was political. That is the heart of it. I've been curious but never asked. Why did you chose Burr for your pic? burr is a fascinating American who is largely remembered for his role in a single event. the sheer number o' pivotal moments in American history which burr were involved is staggering. heck, burr's treason trial and acquittal, which is all but forgotten by any save for historians, almost destroyed the US Judiciary-- such is not a hyperbolic statement. sadly, burr's greatest talent were his ability to gain the enmity o' powerful men and as a result, his legacy is one o' infamy. am not certain if we would say burr deserves better from history, but at the least we would suggest he deserves more. oh, and is apocryphal, but burr is claimed to have never lost a case as an attorney. HA! Good Fun!

HA! Good Fun!

  23. ok. this is how you know something is wrong with Gromnir, on multiple levels. blue panel van. movie were early 90s. first thing comes to mind when you mention unusual obsession with aging blue van from 90s were the 'bove scene from, the silence of the lambs. ... oh well. maybe show hubby the scene 'bove and it will creep him out enough to make him abandon his van love. HA! Good Fun!
  24. understandable confusion. somebody writes a book 'bout how to makes toxic brew 58, which is illegal to produce, sell or distribute in hazard county, USA. the author o' the guide wouldn't be subject to prohibitions re toxic brew 58 insofar as his/her book is concerned. likewise, owning or selling the manual wouldn't be illegal in hazard, or any other US county. is an admitted legal fiction at play. when does toxic brew 58 become more than a process applied to specific ingredients measured in exact proportions? when does a collection o printed plastic parts become a gun? dilbert prints out all the gun parts for a fully auto weapon. to prospective purchasers, dilbert sells all those parts via separate purchases-- also provides instructions how to assemble. dilbert purposeful does not include a final screw or bolt as part o' his sale o' his 99.99% gun+ instructions. is dilbert subject to firearms sales laws? yeah, but why? and how many parts can he sell before he is selling a weapon? most dangerous single "part" would arguable be assembly instructions, but is the one part dilbert would be certain safe to sell... save for fact the instructions would be highly relevant evidence insofar as dilbert's intentions in selling all the other parts. the plans for gun manufacture or brew illegal beverage gets protection same way as does anarK!$7 k00ckb00k. ideas, even inherent harmful, is protected. process and parts? not so much protection for parts and process, but is often difficult to separate parts and process and is requiring ugly mental contortion to decide the point at which collection o' actions and ingredients is sufficient transformed to become something... else. to further confuse, once an illegal product is successful complete, the legal system's hindsight is perfect beyond mere 20/20. those even remote tangential in creation or transportation o' illegal drugs or firearms or whatever may become subject to conspiracy charges whereby they is just as guilty for crimes as is bosses/kingpins/masterminds. HA! Good Fun!
