  1. My selfish me wants you to put every cent into the production, but I guess in the meaning of marketing and availability of the game you should make a few translations. Just please don't let the translation process push forward the release date, that's all. Im from Czech Republic by the way.
  2. To the guy in baseball hat who often rubs his testicles and grins at me.
  3. Godlike - Mage, Human - Thief, and Dwarf - Warrior (I haven't done simple dwarf warrior since my obsession with LotR when BG2 came out and I am still waiting for right moment to try this role again
  4. Absolutely agree. Loved how in bg2 you had specified area of effect + exact time the spell is gonna last + damage done (remember like 4 + 1 per level of caster and similar) + how can target defend against it based on their stats; same with armor and weapons, really well described in compare to fallout2 for example (where, on the other hand, it had it's sense). I consider this to be a must-have.
  5. I like the graphics, they videos are in not such a good quality so the recorded picture can get a little blurry. Fights are GREAT! It feels almost exactly like bg - well done guys, thanks Character's movement is a little stiff, but I can get over it. The characters in the level up and char creation mode seems toi have very low texture quality, but in IGN gamesplay this isn't the case so I guess it's because this thing still remains unpolished. But this guy seems a lot transparent, is he wearing some kind of spell? But anyway, game looks awesome and I can't wait to play it in full version!
  6. Wait really? I think I have read in earlier updates that you won't be able to choose equipment your party wears, only your primary character's. If they changed that then ever better
  7. What I would rather see are a characters choices and dialogues, that allow you to create strong bonds in the means of friendship with other ingame characters. I don't need my character to be loved by another NPC, I do have a girlfriend of my own (although she has been already acknowledged of my upcoming vacation as soon as this game comes out . What would really transform playing this game into very strong experience that I will gladly remind myself of later on is deep connection based on friendship - having a character with which you get through a lot of ****, you can depend on and his or her opinion on things is very similar to mine. In that case, finishing this game could be compared to finishing very good book, which when is finished feels like loosing good friends you spent so much time with. This can be done very well without adding romance indeed.
  8. I watched the gameplay and I can say I am honestly super pleased. Still bothers me a little that I won't be able to equip all party members but what the hell, this game looks awesome! Just one little tiny thing that I feel like could be corrected: I really like how the text falls into the scratchy rough background most of the time, buton the very first screen when introduction is being told the text comes out too much shiny and clear (in compare to the old stone ish borders): And for 20 minutes of gameplay, this being the only one thing that I didn't exactly like clearly means that my years long grieve over infinity games is finally over. Also, I LOVE that almost every enemy drop little loot. Even few cp makes the kill more rewarding! I mean, **** you Dragon Age, **** you Bioware! This is what REAL RPG looks like.
  9. Hello guys, what's up with 83rd update? Cheers IRMA
  10. Josh (Project Director) and Bobby (Area Design Lead) are heading up meetings to review all of the quests in the game. Each quest is played through by the team and analyzed. We ask basic questions like "Why is this quest fun?", "Does the player care about this quest?", and "What hooks the player into starting the quest?" If anything is lacking, the design team spruces the quest up to make it a memorable one. >> this is honestly so nice of you guys it made my tear of happiness. Thank you for being one of those who care. RPG, welcome back to life. Was never THIS hooked to play a game!
  11. After reading this, I changed my own opinion to DISLIKE. I do agree that this is atually something that modding can fully cover, thanks mate btw Leferd, your answer in mostly speculation insulting my way of playing RPG based on your different predispositions, which is like the definition of "narrow-minded"... lol
  12. What?? There are people who actually want 24bit in games? They are playing in movie theaters I suppose then :D
  13. On the contrary to many posts I have read here, I really LOVE the graphics! I love how dark and realistic it looks. You see what ****loads of work has been done on this. After last paint over it will look perfect! So far, I like every aspect of the game you guys presented, keep it up!
  14. I am in favor of new wilderness only if it doesn't mean release date in 12-2014 or Q1/2015. Thats just sooo long
  15. There are 2 issues with creating "scheming" options in video games, how the information is presented and how players have been conditions. Most players take in game choices at their face value because there is usually no follow through. Saving a farm will probably not be the first step in a master plan to gain the support of the populace on your bid to become king, because the game doesn't allow you to. So it is hard for the developers to convey that quest resolutions will lead you on a path towards an ultimate goal and its hard for gamers to conceive such a thing because they're not used to it. Because the most scheming you see allowed on a game is the "betrayal" questlines where you turn to the other side of the conflict and it goes back to the main plot. Yes, it would be very hard to implement such opportunities. But more ways of doing the main game quest line, spread from "I fight for greater good and want nothing for it" to "I do it cause I want that mother****er dead so badly/It's great opportunity to throw down current governor and put me in place/Why the **** bother saving the kingdom its buncha retards anyway gimme some goddamn money".
  16. Oh you mean creating new recipes. Yea passive research could be fun
  17. Still - you need it to finish the quest/task (...of creating Lich's Bane); it doesn't allow you to invest it into research of this or that, which would lead to finding a different research branch. In Civilisation, you have research - you put your resources into the process of creation of new ways to do stuff. In the world where everybody uses stick, you can take one and invent club or staff, but you cannot INVENT Lich's Bane for which you found recipe in Necronomicon - If it is already in any book, its been already done and the process is mapped, thus it's not a research. What you described is simple quest. I don't think any kind of research has place in game like this. EDIT: what you talk about is finding new recipes, which authors already said will be implemented.
  18. Q1: The current hypothesis is that PE must have SIX (6) attributes because the IE games (and D&D) had six attributes. Does nostalgia require that this be so ? Would you be upset if it was 5 or 7 ? The only thing that is influenced by the number of attributes is that more of them adds to complexity while less attributes makes the system more accessible. In that matter, 6 is good number. What is important thing is to get rid of meaningless attributes and to give the right amount of points you can add. Q2: Do you think that defenses should be weighed against other prominent combat stats such as Accuracy and Damage ? (as in, should you have to choose between putting points into damage or accuracy instead of into deflection or willpower) Yes, definitely. Q3: Should Health and Stamina be spread across two attributes or would you prefer that they be married in advancement under one attribute ? Merged, because they are linearly dependent. If 1/4 of the damage to stamina goes also to health, then having those two separate automatically drives you into investing to health whenever you support stamina. Q4: What do you think about Deflection be attribute independent ? In the sense of logic deflection should be affected by dexterity. So I guess this has something to do with the game system itself. Q5: Should Action Speed be influenced by attributes? Yes, definitely. By dexterity (e.g. agility). Q6: Should inventory size be handled by attributes like it was in the IE games. If so, how do you see this being handled ? 100% like in IE games, including strength influencing how much wight you can carry. Inventory tetris is annoying as ****, no matter how "realistic" it can be, because I doubt the most fun thing about adventures is reassembling your backpack. Good idea for the questionnaire btw, enjoyed it
  19. Finally at last, a flash of constructive criticism! Thats why I suggested the ultra fight to be NPC that's already there and is friendly in the first place, so that all the work that has to be done is adjusting the power of that NPC. That way it also becomes eastern egg And the reward could be pretty much anything. Even simple note from devs would do ffs. I am just throwing out ideas. If you don't like, you don't, no hard feelings
  20. That is a search for something, not a research. Research in game usually mean something like "where should I invest my resources", not "hey theres some ancient recipe that will allow you to create some crazy ****!" - thats a quest.
  21. Yes yes **** yes mate. Thats why you LOVE the old RPGs, cause the party members feel like people with their own problems and opinions on you and world around them, thus drive you deeper into the background, make you WANT to be friends with them and get the **** done WITH them. All in lovable simple text form. As for townsfolk NPCs... Torment way please.
  22. For me, playing EVIL means making decisions to make the result pay off primarily, and in many cases only - for you. The more evil your character is supposed to be, the less you fear to accomplish in order to get it done. I HATE quests where you just HAVE TO be the good guy and invest your time and resources into helping some bunch of useless ****s, having no other option. This is one of the main reasons old RPGs rule.
