  1. I resisted learing to touch type for a very long time (until about five years ago, actually): I kept rationalising that I should learn a better key layout (like DVORAK), or that there would be a better interface soon, like voice recognition ... truth is that the keyboard is EVERYWHERE, and it only took a couple of people to show off (pretending not to, of course) by touch-typing to goad me into learing it. (I used to type over 45 wpm with a couple of fingers before that. )
  2. Why does God look like a pancake if God doesn't want everyone to eat God? Is God trying to trick creation? Why? God is omnescient and omnipotent and omnipresent, playing tricks on those less capable is regarded as bad taste for us ... is it okay for God?
  3. Maybe make the person drink every time their character uses a non-standard power. Or hits with a critical roll. Or kills an NPC. Or does something a human cannot do ...?
  4. Ah. Actually it must be unzipped into the SourceMods subfolder under SteamApps. Thanks ... now playing ...
  5. Ow! Watch the friendly fire, chap!
  6. A good tip is to put your keyboard under the desk (on your lap) and practice. That will stop you automatically looking at the keyboard and you will begin to improve immediately. (I wrote all this without once looking away from the screen.)
  7. What am I meant to do with the smod folder, just copy it into the hl2 folder and then it will work?
  8. That, is why you fail.
  9. Unless JE is regarded as a LOSS LEADER and, having established the franchise without losing TOO MUCH money, it is deemed a GOOD RISK to release a sequel (as a lot of the marketing can build on the existing noise) ... ... I might just being playing avocado ...
  10. *sighs* Because real '1337 h@x0rz KNOW where their keys are and don't need the alphanumerics painted on them: that's for n00bz.
  11. Logic is a perfect abstraction of reality.
  12. Than why bother, hmmmm? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> public service announcements
  13. There needs to be (in every RPG, I think): lots of random and tangential quests to perform on subsequent play-throughs. As bad as the sequel to Deus Ex was, it certainly achieved one of its goals: I never seem to do any part of it exactly the same when I replay it. Big bad things. Either:Big bad guys that aren't going to die in combat with a standard character, and so need lots of extra tricks / equipment / secrets / levels to beat; Badlands full of loads of (different) bad guys [*]consequences to earlier actions, like killing a bad guy early on makes the PC a target for the bad guy's kin and guild.
  14. ... But have you found all the coal mines?
  15. This was a public service announcement. I do not commend, nor recommend, this site or game in particular or MMORPGs in general.
  16. None of the characters played a part on the endgame of K2, except for the Exile. And even that was tepid and the verbal conclusion unfulfilling. That's why it didn't work. Sign me up for your church, reverend! I AM A BELIEVER! GOLD What about Deakin? He's more a lost puppy that befriends you and then won't leave ... Cyberpunk = yes. Hard SF = yes. Space Opera = very dodgy ...
  17. On the contrary I am being quite helpful to you. I'm helping you to become a better poster on the forums, to think before you hit the Add Reply button. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  18. It wasn't difficult.
  19. I like it because I can walk around outside without all the crowds of stupid people.
  20. Why? My plans are roughly the same as Eru's(cloth and all), and I too hate 'mas. I hate what it stands for today. THe shopping sprees, the adds, the rushes and the ever-present 'mas-songs, which'll clot every station and store and monger. THe whole, "happy happy buy buy"-mentality. It being the messiah's b-day is a different thing altogether. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The messiah was born? Well, whatdyaknow? I think they should move the birthday back to the original day, in January. "
  21. ZOMG!11!!11eleven! It's already confirmed HERE!
  22. Yeah, my brother's second cousin is GL's nephew's dog-walker, and he heard GL giving his secretary one and he made him promise to do another film or she'd go public.
