Other than MGS4, I haven't really seen anything that seems like it's a jump ahead of the 360, tech-wise. 360 also has a few games coming out soon that will probably be well-reviewed and/or big sellers. I and several other Obsidian folks are considering buying a 360 for Dead Rising alone. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> *googles Dead Rising* Actually, I don't think there is going to be a large amount of games using DirectX10, either, for a few years.

DVD/CD optical drives are one of those consumables that are produced so cheaply that there is little guarantee of a long Mean Time Between Failures ... If you can't test the drive on another set-up, then that limits your options. Good new is that there are some cracking DVD drives out there, including some with laser-drawing imagery instead of those ghastly ink pens and horrific stickers, and for a tiny price. :D

The review I read on it (which gave it a pretty high mark) said it was exactly that: Diablo six years updated (graphics-wise), but with still the same drawbacks (like spending waaaaaaaaaaay too much time on inventory management, moving bits around to fit more stuff in). Yeah, I can confidently say that that is the wort part of Oblivion. I'm surprised they didn't put a mini-game in ...
