Normal netiquette, in a forum of your friends, one just adds a link to their signature. Hopefully you are not just joining loads of fora and posting adverts, because that is Not Cool

Shameless Firefly Fan
Never said that her performance was even credible. As for chatacters, in fact I think Mal has the most important and best character (Zoe and Jane's are terrific too; the Doctor is a wee bit clich

Just My Luck
Powerful men often think it is their right to have a mistress in addition to "number one wife". I'm thinking particularly of one who had two complete families (wives and children) completely ignorant of each other. (Getty?)

Xbox 360 sales going strong
Not that I want to sully myself in this fanboi holy war, but I must interject to say that you are comparing apples and oranges (and I hope you know it). The latest gen consoles are NOT just games machines, so to compare them to a different consumer electronics item (like a DVD player) is pointless.

Movies You Have Seen Lately
How many times have you now seen it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Um, I haven't watched it for a few months, and this makes about half-a-dozen all up (although I stopped watching Firefly when I started quoting the dialogue in correspondence, a little earlier).

Movies You Have Seen Lately
It's only a short story, and I read it in a great anthology that included The Lottery (which is another great piece of writing, not least because it uses the difficult-to-pull-off multiple-first-person-perspective writing, which was the main reason we were reading it).

Movies You Have Seen Lately
Um, I meant the really long title (which doesn't see to much match the one on the box). Has the novel been translated? Cause I'd like to read it, yeah. Charly Well, the direction hasn't aged well, some scenes are pretty bad while others are absolutely brilliant. Guess I liked the script and actors. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think I've seen that ... waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when ... certainly I have read Flowers for Algernon (beforehand, about 20 years ago) and enjoyed that very much. Edit: Fixed linkie.

Movies You Have Seen Lately
1. As you rightly note, the Enterprise is in constant jeopardy, so they should just be done with it and leave the saucer section behind. 2. The writers and actors were still finding their feet.

I have lost my father suddenly, too (and too suddenly, too). Hopefully your family will all be there for each other.

Movies You Have Seen Lately
The first two seasons were AWFUL, though they did pick up a lot after that. I mean, what a dumb idea to have the saucer section come off. Which stupid writer thought that that would be useful in space? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Galaxy class starships are ships of exploration. With their extend stay in space, the crew of the ship were allowed to have their families to join them on their journey. The saucer section has the crew quarters in it. If for some reason the warp core or something else went critical, which was located on the lower part of the ship, they could separate the ship, saving lives in the process. I prefer DS9 over TNG, but TNG improved after the third season. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hee hee, thanks for the balloon help, Lucius. Unfortunately I know far too much about it: I still think it is a stupid idea. After all, the saucer section would need its own propulsion system, otherwise it would still be in the danger zone, surely? Another propulsion system creates far more complexity than is warranted. Time to halt the illusion and call it for what it is: a stupid writer's plot device that didn't work.
