Was his findings accepted by the bulk of humanity? Yes or no. One individual is irrelevant. I am talking about human civilization as a whole. No doubt we can find a single individual here and there throughout history that was ahead of their time but as a civilization? What matters most is not the knowledge of one man, but the progression of technology and understanding of the universe by our species as a whole. WTF is "human civilization as a whole"?

Why? Because you don't like it? Because it isn't "right"?

Actually, Eratosthenes worked out that the Earth was a planet orbiting the sun like the others, in the third century BC.

Heisenberg, the quantum physicists of the third millenium, taks and I disagree with you.

Gingers are probably identified as children of the evil rapers from the cold Nordic countries.

I have heard of a camera with a GPS, that adds a latitude and longitude tag to photographs, just like the more common time and date stamps.

Fallout 3 will hardly feature infinite inventory. With all the importance they are placing on the wasteland feel (irradiated water, degradable equipment for example) they're hardly going to remove the enumberance system that was present in both the original Fallouts and in Oblivion. I agree with your point in general, just don't think it applies here. Unless you know something I don't? Nah, just making a general point. I would completely and totally agree with this if and only if Fallout 1 and 2 did this from the beginning, but they did not. The designers decided to use the PnP model and so, being a sequel to Fallout 1 and 2 so should Fallout 3. Now if this was an original IP with no relation to Fallout you would have a strong case and I would agree with it, but Fallout 3 is not an original IP. It is a sequel to an established series. That's the most arbitrary line of reasoning you could possibly spout. Just because the original Fallout and the sequel used a particular device that was based on pen-and-paper technology that predates computers, doesn't mean that those techniques are the best way to manage the particular challenges involved, especially after (how many?) decades of knowledge and information technology development since DnD first became a reality. Seriously, you expound a a fanatical fundamentalistic zeal that makes a Jahovah's Witness appear the epitome of toleration.

I saw Fantastic Four: something about a silvery surfing dude last night, and it was nowhere near as bad as the first. I put this down to the fact that Ms Alba had no dialogue pretending that she was a scientist, so she could just pout and strut. Though she should fire her make-up artist. And plastic surgeon (Kerry Washington should sue after the abortive job they did on her).

Of all the blondes I've met, you'd be surprised how many acted dumb in various situations in order to control the men present. (Don't forget that most blondes aren't natural: they choose their hair colour on purpose.)

Why do you care? You already don't like it.

The Japanese, when they occupied the peninsula, banned the aboriginal language and even changed the spelling of the country. It is traditionally spelt Corea.

That's why I revived the topic!

It's all well and good until a redhead moves nextdoor to YOU ... Bigotry is just a differential used by groups to attack each other. Skin melanin content is hardly significant in human life, yet because it has an large visual impact it has been used for bigotry since before history. Interestingly, I read some research that concluded that for people in groups, their behaviours tended to migrate towards the stereotype, through simple reward and punishment interactions between the groups. (I think it was the skeptic article in Scientific American a few months ago, I'll have to go and dig it up.) This means that we naturally diverge (to compete?) ... which might have some long-term implications for peaceful coexistence ... which will be impossible without tolerance.

I'd be happy if people were actually cognizant of science.

Neutral, the reason your particular bigotry has created such a commotion is clear (to everyone but you). You are comparing breastfeeding to masturbating. Really. You don't think you have some issues, there? One day, maybe, you might have a wife and (be calm!) a child. Then you will realise that the youngest people require feeding almost constantly (every couple of hours). I can fully expect you to condemn the evil childbearers to a life chained to their abode, so that no innocent little boys have to see their evil breastfeeding. I understand it, I just don't agree with it. Or are you pretending that the infant might be emotionally scarred by the 18-rated film? Because if you are, you are flagrantly in disagreement with every expert ... newborn infants can barely see a face in front of them, let alone a screen with images. Not to mention that the baby is studiously concentrating on the nipple in front of her. Oh, and

You're just sore because of that experiment you tried last summer. I told you that lightning can strike the same place twice.

I saw it yesterday too (jinx?) and I was quite surprised that it wasn't as bad as the first. I think a lot has to be down to the fact that there were ZERO lines of dialogue with Alba pretending to be a scientist, which meant she didn't have to stretch to anything outside her range of pouting and working the runway. (Who did her make-up? She looked like a shaved orang-utan, her fake-tan was so thick and her skin so orange.)

I'm just about to finish off a litre (that's 0.22 gal., 0.2642 US gal., 1.7598 pint) of Pink Grapefruit juice, to help speed this virus on its way. I went out to the cinema last night, and it started to rain as I was arriving home, which resulted in a vicious fever and delirium all night. Think it's finally passed now, though.

You took and INFANT to a MOVIE THEATRE? Congratulations, you are officially one of the douchebags that destroyed the cinema experience. EDIT: Unless you don't live in a backwater country like me and it's out on DVD. I dunno. In that case, I apologize. It's been out on DVD for ages. Yeah, I realized that probability when I realized we generally get everything like four months later unless it's a blockbuster. I have been to plenty of movies in theatre where it did happen though. I saw a screening of Army of Darkness (we have a cult night in our theatre every now and again) and there was this baby crying all the time. At some point, it stopped, so I looked back to see if they were gone. No, the mom was BREASTFEEDING it. It was a generally screwed up experience. Right. Because a woman breastfeeding is disgusting and unnatural, whereas a girl with her top off jiggling her breasts in your face is perfectly okay.
