  1. I'll upgrade first, of course.
  2. Bioshock has two UI design teams, one for each platform, which will mean that each platform will actually play differently (mouse-keyboard versus d-pad, for example). Bok, you do realize that Edd'oh might actually do this? Pee Kay
  3. I think I'll but three copies.
  4. Actually the current translations have been directly transliterated from the earliest recordings, so the "re-translations" argument doesn't hold. Still, I'd be interested to read a comparison between the Roman-centric scripture and, say, the Egyptian-centric ones found in Qumran. Again, though, Sand you are focusing narrowly on Christianity.
  5. You took and INFANT to a MOVIE THEATRE? Congratulations, you are officially one of the douchebags that destroyed the cinema experience. EDIT: Unless you don't live in a backwater country like me and it's out on DVD. I dunno. In that case, I apologize. It's been out on DVD for ages.
  6. I guess English-speakers can't talk to Coreans, then, unless they speak the same language. An isolated group in a separate game.
  7. Maybe "regular" mutants were just impaired and unable to harm others.
  8. Well, without it you can't survive in the commercial sector, and it's pretty difficult to go far in academia. "
  9. Bush is a born-again Christian, as far as I am aware (I've never been in Church with him, though). There needs to be some editorial work done, as well, to ensure that the more extreme theories aren't given equal "air-time" as theory that has stood up to years of scientific scrutiny. The cynical development of "Intelligent Design" as a backdoor to using science to "prove" the existence of god should be treated with the disdain it deserves. The surveys were quite worrying, though: Incidentally, every theologist/philosopher since the classical Greeks introduced the notion, has tried to come up with "the ultimate proof". And every subsequent philosopher has debunked the previous one, by demonstrating the enormous logical fallacies in their reasoning. Science is all about HOW things work. Religion is WHY. Never the twain meet.
  10. You have to take a couple of courses in BS, too.
  11. Well, I guess Bethesda can't please everyone with their design choices. Especially the more rabid fans who want *their* dream game. I think the design is sound, and I'm actually becoming more interested.
  12. In the words of Bigweld, "See a need, fill a need!" It actually re-affirms your choice of vocation, methinks; the fact that you find objects and means to improve the games you play means that you are actively interested and have a high coefficient of care (aka carefactor). It would be a serious problem if you didn't want to tweak and modify games that you play and implement ideas ...
  13. Are they language-neutral or something? How would someone who doesn't understand Corean fare trying to play in the games?
  14. Chilli for dinner? Angry girlfriend's eye-of-death?
  15. Google is your friend
  16. Two prominent defenders of science exchange their views on how scientists ought to approach religion and its followers clickie
  17. Definitely sounds like a graphics card problem: can you run DirectX9.0c on your setup?
  18. Sounds like humidity from the soil transferred into the air of the vault. A de-humidifier might have helped ... or a proper air seal. Concrete is very porous ... I remember a murder was discovered because the killer buried the body in cement, which became a part of a building. The crime was uncovered when someone tried to explain why a concrete pillar was blanketed in swarms of flies ...
  19. That's okay, I didn't read any of your links, either.
  20. I just caught an old b&w on tv: a Jon Wayne (and Kirk Douglas! playing a distinctly "grey" hero) film from 1965 called In Harms Way. What a fantastic film. I really dig films that have proved their merit over time, that still can say something to audiences of generations later.
