  1. This is probably better off in the Developers forum, too. * wrinkle nose * * wrinkle nose *
  2. The Queen; Helen Mirren is brilliant (again and as usual). Watched the Battlestar Galactica miniseries ... HATED IT. Then, on a whim, I watched the "making of" featurette, and I realised (with the specially-selected bunch of clips from the original series) how camp the first one was. (How could they include footage of Lorne Greene looking like a dandy in a Sicilian comedy? Just to make the new series look better! ) So I watched it again. And it didn't seem so bad. In my defence, I really liked the orignal film and not the series. " I am now not sure if I should watch the rest of the series. I DO like what they did with Baltar, though: a lot of scope for a rich, non-shallow evil character.
  3. Nice idea; I'll move this to the Pen and Paper forum, which I think is more appropriate.
  4. Hmmm ... *contemplates playing BG2 with a Paladin ... *
  5. I played a couple of Community mods that handled both large troop battles under the player's command AND political machinations very well, so it is possible (even if it was beyond the scope of Bioware's original remit). Otherwise you will just have a party-based dungeon crawl rehash of Oblivion, in third person. Precisely.
  6. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am not pleased. The first time through I Come back here, I'll bite yer kneecaps off! :D OMG I totally forgot about him. That little weiner guy. When I first played the game I thought he was going to have a bigger role, but he was really just around for that one mission. I thought that was a little strange: introducing a singular character like that so late in the game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey, I am not a weiner! I am Howard Strong, and you will quail at my name!
  7. The general would not be pleased.
  8. Yet when I saw a picture of your desk, I also happened to notice the Sold-Out version of Deus Ex! I am.. shocked. SHAME ON YOU, META! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, that was the first game I bought when I decided to start playing games again (after a hiatus of many years). If I could, I'd go back in time and play it earlier. And I would gladly buy the original now, if it were possible. Brilliant game.
  9. Not sure anyone is guilty of not giving answers in good faith ... ... BUT, what about Dirty Harry?
  10. So where do you put stuff released by Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner? Under "S" or "P" ...
  11. Merged.
  12. They were all Eldar's alts ... "
  13. Water cooling ONLY makes sense when it is used for the entire system: countless examples of single unit (i.e. the GPU) water-cooled to less than what a good fan (like Gigabyte G-Power Cooler Pro or Sharkoon) can do.
  14. clickie
  15. Intel C2D draw a lot less power than the top-end AMDs, too ... so if you pay for your electricity you might want to factor that in ... though 270W for a X1950XTX is ludicrous, as well. These figures quoted from this month's PC Format: Processor [*]Core 2 Duo
  16. I don't know if there really is or not. I'm just guessing at why SS2 has remained fresher longer than DX. Each time I play a game of SS2, I think I'm going to be bored, but then I get sucked right in. The last couple times I played DX I couldn't make it past the first visit to Hell's Kitchen. Maybe its due to the huge amount of dialogue in DX that I've already heard a thousand times? SS2 doesn't have that and is more of a viseral experience, whereas Deus Ex is more of an intellectual experience? I don't know really. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm just replaying deus ex now, and I have just about finished Hell's Kitchen (haven't play for over a week); it's a HUGE level: the last time I played it I did it completely differently, and this time I am finding it much deeper (last time I just tried to get through this level because) the next levels are much, much better, and tend to get better incrementally.
  17. Why not try chronological, like each decade or year in a different stack.
  18. So are you advocating the Muslim justice system instead? Perhaps honor payments, as well? The whole point of removing people's liberty (and nothing more) is to show that we have a free society to live in.
  19. I've played Deus Ex about half-a-dzoen times all the way through. I have played System Shock 2 for many, many hours, though. I nearly started a new game (but I wasn't sure what to do, after a Psi).
  20. Games that I will buy, regardless, I will gladly get loyalty discounted prices on other purchases for having the game arrive in my mailbox before the due release date ...
