  1. I love the US approach to the rules of sports: there ARE no ties! :D Doesn't a football match have (after an exhaustive list technical metrics) a coin-toss to decide the game?
  2. If you are really interested, you might want to analyze the relationships in more detail, using transactional analysis (it's a popular tool used today by Analytical Psychiatrists, for one). Though that might cause a lot more consternation than you are prepared for: people like their neuroses, they are comfortable.
  3. Dad "landed" on an airstrip in New Guinea built on a mountain: the gradient was about 30% ... Gordegazelle (definitely need to check that spelling) Ridge?
  4. After all, it's expensive to get good vegetarian meat these days, after the Thatcherian mechanically-reclaimed-meat diet supplements; so a good grain-fed human would have a lean fillet ...
  5. Alternate_Superme: "Yes, yes it is. I like to kill them with my bare hands, too, as it adds to the flavour." *eyes glinting with far-off look and glowing with maniacal fervour *
  6. The US took over my sechool and used it as a base during WW2; they even built what we used as the theatre up until the eighties (at which time a purpose-built structure was designed, with enlarged capacity and a more in-keeping fa
  7. The pen is truly mightier than the sword.
  8. Clean your room!
  9. The peaceful example set by the more extreme doctrinaires of the Abrahamic religions?
  10. However, you don't say "Ich bin ein Berliner", either; I'm a little rusty, but it would be more like "Ich bin aus Berlin, auch". Is that correct, German speakers?
  11. I'm pretty sure the dubbed version has a (ever-so-slightly) different script, just from watching it back-to-back in English and then Japanese ... certainly I like the way Japanese say "Yessir" / "Ma'am" / "Of course" / "Without Delay" / etc ... what is that utterance
  12. And so another thread reaches the end of its brief and interesting (?) lifespan. PS No its not.
  13. A single-player not-the-chosen-one plot is just like every other single player game just without the implications that the main character was fated to the experience: a dungeon crawl for loot and experience.
  14. Hey, that's not too bad. I was expecting something painfully arty; y'know, like "I suffer for my art so now it's your turn," type thing.
  15. I think you've got the discussion 'round the wrong way. I was asking you to clarify how your definition of a single-player not-the-chosen-one plot was different from a MMORPG instance, and you have singly failed to do so.
  16. But they aren't dead if they have respawned.
  17. Now you tell me. Though I bet it would be far too arty for my taste.
  18. I can't believe you guys FORCED me to buy a graphic novel written by a GAIMAN! [/joke in incredibly poor taste]
  19. I may have been reading the Union Leader's speech that paraphrased (or just took the first sentence from that one of) JFK, because I recongnize the only the first sentence. Also, as a tangential editorial, a "Berliner" is a small sugar-coated pastry.
  20. A. And anyone fatter than me is fat, regardless of how fat that is. Because I'm not. Fat.
  21. What? Limited choices! What if you wanted to kill the character in the first book (in some brave, martyr-like fashion, of course)?
  22. Drunk-Good. Drunk-Evil would commit random acts of violence against others.
  23. I'm no expert at FO, but isn't it a very combat-unfriendly environment ... or is that just at lower levels?
  24. Well, if I could find it then I could quote it. :D It was the statement that whilst one man is a slave then we all are. It may not have been JFK, but I think it was; a British Union leader quoted it a decade or so ago, too.
