  1. I can't believe you guys FORCED me to buy a graphic novel written by a GAIMAN! [/joke in incredibly poor taste]
  2. I may have been reading the Union Leader's speech that paraphrased (or just took the first sentence from that one of) JFK, because I recongnize the only the first sentence. Also, as a tangential editorial, a "Berliner" is a small sugar-coated pastry.
  3. A. And anyone fatter than me is fat, regardless of how fat that is. Because I'm not. Fat.
  4. What? Limited choices! What if you wanted to kill the character in the first book (in some brave, martyr-like fashion, of course)?
  5. Drunk-Good. Drunk-Evil would commit random acts of violence against others.
  6. I'm no expert at FO, but isn't it a very combat-unfriendly environment ... or is that just at lower levels?
  7. Well, if I could find it then I could quote it. :D It was the statement that whilst one man is a slave then we all are. It may not have been JFK, but I think it was; a British Union leader quoted it a decade or so ago, too.
  8. I think it would lose a lot in the translation. Firstly, any translation needs a sympathetic translator, and secondly, the German language has some pretty neat grammar and vocabulary (just look at how many words English has borrowed because she doesn't have anything like them: Schadenfreude, Zeitgeist, Weltanschauung, etc).
  9. * does not say "Didn't everyone else, who bought one at launch?" *
  10. Nice? That's the worst insult!
  11. It's funny because it's true. (I like the inherent irony in my statement.) I was actually looking for a particular quote which is why I came up with so many JFK ones: he was really ahead of his time, I think I'll refer to him from now on as the King of the Sound-Bite. (I didn't find the quote I was looking for: I'll have to search otherwhere for it.)
  12. didn't Space Rangers 2 have that horrific copy protection program on it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes. And it ultimately prevented me from playing it, because I was having a lot of problems with various parts of my OS, like the printer and scanner drivers were losing all semblance of cogent process ... then I realized (belatedly) that it was the anti-virus and hacker-prevention applications. Then again, I might try loading it again (after NwN2). Not any more, thanks to my handy-dandy super topic splitter and reply-mover!
  13. I'm interested in you explaining that a bit more. One of the biggest complaints about MMORPGs is that the players cannot solve major plot episodes, because that would prevent others from doing so. In other words, if NwN2 was MMO, then the plot would be in continuous suspension: no player could actually STOP the King of Shadows, because then no-one else could play ... The best that could happen is the player could do something locally, like win the fair or stop the Grey Dwarves, because that doesn't (necessarily) affect the global plot.
  14. A ninja girlfriend is the answer! ... and how do you know so much about hypnotizing people to act against their overt characters ...
  15. Must be Firefox having trouble with some DHTML code.
  16. Right. This thread is toast.
  17. No surprises that a static encoding system is non-trivial to crack. Then again, I thought this new system had a changeable key.
  18. You can keep the original suit of leather and use it whenever you want in the remainder of the game. :D
  19. Invasion by barbarian horde of a relatively small group of cities? (this idea ripped from a book) Sand's mentioned idea of defense of a trade route. Perhaps it has become incredibly overrun with bandits and the only way to stop them is to seek out their leader. But, where? A lengthy and detailed jaunt into a city's underworld, either as criminal or cop. etc. etc. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why isn't that just equivalent to an instance (or several) in an MMORPG, though? How is it different?
  20. And the Wizards are owned by Hasbro.
  21. The moral of this review is don't drive elephants! (they are dangerous).
  22. As difficult as it might be to read, Volo, I haven't read one post in your NwN2 topic.
  23. Interestingly, Valve are expecting that the (massively-parallel) CPU will eventually annex the GPU functionality, whereas nVidia are planning for the opposite.
  24. Might have lost a bit in the translation ...
