  1. Fire Godlike is really good for tanking Silver tide is one of the best heals in the game
  2. Well, what you say here and what I heard from Josh in the interview on twitch, reminded me of the following question I had - in the twotch stream I heard that dialogue with a temporary npc I will have in the beginning of the game is used to set up my character's biography prior to the beginning of the events in the game. Back when I watched the Jesse Cox stream, where this dialogue was shown, I thought that I would rather not be completely honest about my past with a stranger. Yesterday I learned that if I had roleplayed in this way, this would have set up a biography I actually don't want my character to have. I know this isn't an issue now that I know about it, and also that I should bear the need to be honest with an npc I will have only for a short time (a fact which an unprepared player would not know on his first playthrough), but it's still a conflict between roleplaying and game mechanics requirements. Agreed. I find what how they interpret my answer to not be what I had in mind for my character. I don't see why they don't just keep the blank slate.
  3. My understanding what that the base AI would switch up targets on certain conditions, forcing you to react to some extent. And engagment was going to be a tool to help manage the battlefield to keep it from going too crazy. With exceptions like enemy barbarians using wild sprint etc. adding layers of complexity. But the AI hasn't turned out to be dynamic like this so engagement ends up just being something that prevents movement. And when you do run into mobs that teleport you can't really do anything because everyone is stuck in engagement.
  4. Blast is really good... But the correct answer is druid
  5. The main metagaming issue I have is that personality is a part of combat stats in such a way that it is very sub-par to take or not take Perception/Int/Resolve on some classes. I would've preferred personality traits be a bit more separate so that class choice doesn't dictate so much of my character's personality, if I want to build that class to be effective at the role I want anyway. For example, if I am playing most caster classes there is very little reason to choose perception currently. It doesn't do anything that substantially improves those classes for their role outside of niche sub-par builds like a Skaen dual wielder. Resolve is also a bit of a dud. All of my Druid, Cipher, Priest, Wizard builds right now have high Might, Intellect, and middling Dexterity. I knock a few points off Constitution, Perception, Resolve to achieve this. If I play any of these as my main I worry my character will be penalized in dialogue for being imperceptive and weak willed when those aren't necessarily aligning with the personality I'd want to play. Right now the attribute effects don't feel that sensibly matched to their name anyway, if feels a bit like having the me attributes define combat capability and mental state was arbitrarily carried over from DnD. Probably too late now I would've rather have something like a separate set of dialogue/personality-based strength/weaknesses and neutral ones with pro/cons, while for combat I'd be fine just picking increased AoE, duration, damage without them being packaged into attributes. Agreed. But for now I give the attributes to my main that I would want its personality to have and just suck up the consequences.
  6. Sounds like a bug if they can trigger it... Mutonizer- Where is your accent from?
  7. "though heavier armors still work well with the build and the added protection helps reduce the need for micromanagment" Wat? You will get far better information on the official wiki and the forums than this drivel. 95% of this is just a collection of in game tooltips. Oh God my name is in this. DO NOT WANT.
  8. Lol This is the problem. It has been for 99% of single player games. My hope was that this game was going to be different and introduce some decent AI. It does not seem to be the case. POE the story and scenery will be amazing. The combat will be meh.
  9. I don't know what everyone is talking about. It was 1 Extra attack in 40 seconds of combat. That hardly seems OP. Most fights are over before then.
  10. After attempting to read through all of the comments I regret posting in this thread at all.
  11. -Short stocky bearded dwarfs who are strong and live in mountains -Elves with pointy ears and an affinity isolation and the for the forest -All other races that have Males being larger than Females -The fact that the female orlans are larger than male orlans is a stereotype unto itself. Just saying...
  12. Of three Envenomed strikes against the BB Wizard: 1. Damage and Duration shown 2. No Envenomed strike Damage or Duration shown 3. No Envenomed strike Damage or Duration shown Also when duration is shown in the hit entry it doesn't match the duration of the envenomed strike entry. For example in number one it shows two different durations of 5 seconds and 4.5 seconds. Edit: It seems like this happens when you attack a target than already has envenomed strike.
  13. Yah it only happens once or twice through playthrough. The ones I can recall off the top of my head are hired priest Interdiction, hired druid charm beasts, and the cowled Dwarf's Blessing from Medrath's party. I've never seen a non-aoe version but someone above reported it with spiritshift. Good luck trying to figure this one out.
  14. I have no idea how to reproduce. It doesn't happen that often. I've seen it from a variety of classes and spells, including NPCs. Though they do all seem to be AOE.
  15. Even if that were the case... The game is very punishing for anyone besides a tank to take damage. If your mage starts getting attacked it doesn't matter what armor he wears... he is going to have a bad time. For example, say your mage/rogue/whatever has ~75 health. The mobs in this game hit hard. Having a DR of 6/8/10 compared to 12 isn't going to do anything to keep you alive. You are far better off just doing as much damage as possible.
  16. This is a decent point. It's not like I feel like I have to chain cast a bunch of spells to live. Most of the time I'm autoattacking anyway.
  17. You can see that spirit shift is qued up/highlight. But she continues to just autoattack. -I actually have 2 druids in this battle. Niether of them are spiritshifting. -They both finally shapeshifting AFTER the target died. Additionally, this is after I had this do other attacks without requeing up spiritshift. You can see in the 2nd screenshot for exampe, "bazy" cast stag's horn. I did not thereafter try to use spiritshift.
  18. This invocations affects only friendly targets. Yet the targeting indicator as show implies it is affecting the beetle somehow. Not sure if bug or just weird result of targeting system.
  19. 11.4 graze with 12 DR. How does this end up as 2.4 Pierce with no "MIN" damage indication???
  20. So I saw the loading screen in question. It only says survivals helps identify ingredients for scripted interactions. Sorry.
  21. Better AI. Give casters a reason to wear armor. Not a total solution, but would help. Nobody disagrees with you there.
  22. Because under your system if a player wants to play a certain way they have to wear a certain armor. And as other people have said your system just makes it more likely for a caster to wear no armor instead of having to deal with a bunch of restrictions.
