  1. So, there seem to be multiple bugs with this spell: 1) Raw or Corrode? 2) The damage on this spell acts weird. It did 14 damage per projectile to a DR 18 character, and 16 to one with DR 12 (but only 9 DR Corrode). I think it takes basic DR (not Corrode DR) without quality enchantment bonus (+6 is both cases), divides that by 3, and subtracts the result from each projectile. I don't think it's supposed to work that way... EDIT: It seems to be using 25% of Corrode DR for some reason. 3) The damage log for this spell also seems bugged. It doesn't list the damage done but just claims it affected the target. You can click on that but instead of math it just shows the number from the description (18.2 in my case), not the damage really done. Sometimes the projectiles will get grouped in the log, and then it shows their damage done as 0.0 even if in reality it was 42 or such. 4) [Discovered by chance] After making peace with the ogres I can cast this spell on them, and they won't turn hostile, unless I cast it enough times to kill one of them. Other spells provoke them properly, and I'm not sure if there are other groups who enjoy getting drained like this. Another bug: if you summon your new pet lich, and tell him to cast his Hammer, things get crazy. I've seen him graze the Adra Dragon for over 300 damage, and in a quick test I've just did he scored a 250 and then a 440 on poor Zahua (and 1215 on Eder in a another test). [in another thread someone reported the Hammer's doing over 1k damage to Thaos ( http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/82182-how-has-the-thaos-battle-been-buffed-after-white-march/?p=1732641 ), which may be related.] None of the targets were petrified or anything like that, and Aloth's version of the spell doesn't seem to do that. Here's a save you can test all of this on: http://tinyurl.com/MorugPoE [i've posted it for another bug, so you may have it already.] Output log for the Hammer bug: output_log.txt Output log right after hitting an ogre with the missiles: output_log.txt
  2. It also has a very pretty animation, but there seem to be some problems with it. I'm not sure how its damage works - when used on a DR 18 character all 3 projectiles did 14 damage each. 16 each on a DR 12 (but 9 vs Corrode) one. The only way I can make sense of it is if it takes basic armor DR (not Corrode one) without quality enchantments and deducts 1/3 of that from each projectile. The combat log doesn't seem to help - it doesn't show the math, and sometimes it says all 3 projectiles did 0.0 damage together even if they did 42 in reality. Oh, and WM cave ogres don't turn hostile if you hit them with it, unless you hit them enough for one of them to die. Am I missing something, or should I report all this as bugs?
  3. In fallout 2, you were prevented from entering Vault City if you had Marcus and Lenny in your party. Or you couldn't enter Just a trivia note, but it was possible to get them in if you became the Captain of the Guard (a very hidden option) - you even scored some bonus ammo by bringing Marcus to the doctor in the Vault. The First Citizen wasn't too happy with this, however...
  4. What I'm hoping for is that they'll work on PoE2 and further expansions for PoE1 in parallel, so that PoE2 comes out about half a year after the final PoE1 expansion - assuming this wouldn't slow PoE2 by too much, of course.
  5. I'm guessing that we'll face Ninagauth in WM Part 2. We already know (from the flashback in which he killed his student) he sometimes hangs around the WM, and seeing as some of his signature spells are ice-based it's not a big leap to assume he has his base somewhere in the area. Plus most of his spells seem rather evil, which makes him a likely enemy. I suspect he's the one who hired the mercenaries, probably 'cos he's getting old and wants to learn how to go lich himself.
  6. After killing most of the ogres and then negotiating peace with them, the Matron tells me (in an overhead speech thingie) to look up Morug to trade some goodies with him, but he's nowhere to be found. This thread says that he only shows up if you negotiated peace without any casualties, so either the Matron shouldn't be saying that line to me, or he should show up if the peace was made, even if there were some sacrifices (I'd prefer the latter ). Here's a save game from the cave, you may need to chat up to the Matron a couple of times to get that line: http://tinyurl.com/MorugPoE (NOTE: In front of the cave there are some fampyrs om-nom-noming some dead ogres, but that probably isn't related. But then again, if Morug is outside the cave, then he probably should have some reaction to that display - if he doesn't then that's another bug, I guess.)
  7. There's also a new unique rod called Golden Gaze: it shoots 2 projectiles at once so it's kind of like dual wielding two smaller rods (except maybe a bit faster?) and can apply Expose Vulnerabilities on hit or crit. Plus it looks nice, too ;P
  8. You can be quite flippant with this quest. You can first agree to spare the dragon, tell this to both the priest and Hylea, and then come back and kill it anyway, which you can then report to the priests and get the monetary reward for it. Hylea doesn't seem to mind
  9. It is possible to awaken Taena and then suppress the old soul (it requires high Resolve if I recall, maybe some other stat can do it too) - end result is Teana's gaining some vigor and energy, which probably alters that slide.
  10. Interestingly, the big adra pillar in Magran's Fork also works. I'm guessing the first step may have multiple solutions as well. Every machine is able to unlock it. I unlocked it with the machine on the very first map where you become a watcher. It's easiest to access and so I tried it and it worked. Yeah, and it seems that every outdoor (and thus sun-kissed) graveyard works for step 2. Nice idea with those riddles, but I hope next time they're a bit harder and maybe even lore-based? Or with some ciphers to crack? Something like that, the answers would probably show up within a day on the forum anyway for those who wanted them
  11. I agree that it'd be nice to know if this was seen, and if there will be a retro fix for existing games, or do we need to spawn another copy with the console (I hope installing and then uninstalling IE Mod to do this won't cause some brand new bugs -_-') - I think it may be the only way to get Death Ray currently, at least for some people.
  12. Huh, this is weird. The Grimoire I've picked had Shadowflame, but not Death Ray, and now is bugged and has only spells on levels 1-4. Then I've spawned one with the console and it had both spells, but Shadowflame - a level IV spell - is in it as a level III spell. But in the original and now-bugged one it's on level IV, correctly (not sure where it was when I picked it up). I think the bug is that it has 5 level IV spells in it, and that messes things up (and probably it cost me a Death Ray -_-').
  13. Only the icy fireball was unique (I found the book at level 14, and that was the only spell in it I didn't have).
  14. I'd love to visit the Lake of Drowned Tombs, whatever that is, and it just so happens to be close to the Republics
  15. Huh, I totally missed the one in outdoor Longfalls, no idea how. As for the one in the cave, you can get it without a fight if you befriend the dragon by fixing its soul with your Watcher powers. Also, my Perception 19/Mechanics 1 Watcher seems to be finding all the secrets (according to the log), not my Mechanics 13 trap-expert.
  16. In White March there are two special grimoires with a few unique - otherwise unlearnable - super-spells in them. They don't provide any bonuses beyond that, but I find it a step in the right direction.
  17. In WM there's an item called Ryona's Vambraces which, among other goodies, has an "Precision: +3 DR Bypass" effect. This effect stacks with Rending, so a Cipher using That Certain Blunderbuss + DR bypassing Talent + said Vambraces ends up with 15 DR bypass. So there's that...
  18. Good point. As for Unbroken and Second Chance, earlier today I was leveling the 2-handed soulbound sword with Eder, and it asked for 5 in-battle resurrections. So I made him charge some enemies naked, with a 2nd chance ring on and AI turned off. They beat him up, Unbroken triggered, and it didn't count as a resurrection, then they beat him up some more, he got KO-ed, and then 2nd Chance came along, and that did count as one (then they beat him up some more, and Durance brought him back a couple of times).
  19. new DPS build gogogo <a data-ipb="nomediaparse" data-cke-saved-href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poe" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poe" s_law"="">Not sure if serious. I'm not sure myself, to be honest I mean, it is a silly idea, but then again it also makes a lot of sense, esp. if we reword "negative mass" to "inherent floating enchantment." We know that such enchantment exists, 'cos one of the archmage's apprentices casts it on every weapon she can find... and she just so happens to have a large stash of this very iron hidden in her room... *plays X-Files theme*
  20. Additive. What happens if you add -16% to the 15% penalty on a robe? Does it become lighter than going naked? Hmm, perhaps this steel has negative mass? Would explain why it's only added to other items, instead of being used to make some new ones - they'd just fly away
  21. There are 16 in the Battery, many hidden in various secret spots (so you need to sneak around with high perception character to be sure)(but AFAIK you didn't lose any for pulling the cart switch on the first time), 1 in a secret spot in Alpine dragon's cave, and 3 in another secret spot in the room with floating weapons in the Archmage's tower.
  22. I really like Zahua, I even began taking screenshots of some of his best moments. For example: I also loved the "Are you real?" dialogue node in his first conversation. For me he may very well rival Morte from Torment, and that's something. Devil is all right too, fun personality, but I like the monk better.
  23. Interestingly, the big adra pillar in Magran's Fork also works. I'm guessing the first step may have multiple solutions as well.
  24. No, sorry, I tend to stick to quick save, so it got overwritten a while ago. But Google results indicate that said Fampyr never showed up to work for anyone so it should be easy to reproduce. The exact order of events was such: I got the quest from the frightened guy in the inn, went to the hold, followed the Fampyr to the top, told Raedric that I'm also a chosen of Berath, beaten him up, talked to the Fampyr again, she referenced how I really am the chosen of Berath and offered to work for my stronghold, I agreed, she never showed up.
