  1. 1 to 2 weeks from the current one, or that is their plan at least. I would put my money on closer to two weeks. 2 Weeks are absolutely ok. There should always be enough time for everyone to test the new build and of course enought time for Obsidian to create a new one. IMHO 1 week is too short.
  2. Of course I would also like to see the total numbers: How many backers and how many money was raised. And of course I would like to use this numbers to compare the outcome (PoE when it's ready) with the other "big kickstarter retro role playing games" like Wasteland 2 that could not raise so much as PoE and Torment - Tides of Numenera that could raise much more than PoE during Kickstarter. For me this is a very interesting "contest" between InXile and Obsidian. And I hope all 3 games will be great ones as I am realy looking forward to play (and hopefully) enjoy them. So Obsidian I would appreciate transparency as always on this.
  3. They added a console command in this patch to set custom zoom, but I'm not even sure how to open the console right now. "Added SetZoomRange console command" The usual. Tilda (~) on the keyboard opens the console. Interesting. One step more I guess would be enough to have a better view of chars in battle... Maybe we will be able in future beta builds to zoom in a little more...
  4. Combat is much better but still a little chaotic. And too fast. Would be great if you could zoom in one more step.
  5. Great news! The new first impression after "playing" half an hour ist great! Much better feel while playing. And fighting! And Casting spells. German translations of the "magnifying spots" are still missing so far. But this is something I can wait for a later patch. Thanks Obsidian for this nice update! And thanks for listening to the community.
  6. Nice to know that you devs keep us in the loop. For me - as I want to play with German language - the first new build that shows the texts everywhere when you click on a "magnifying glass spot" will be interesting. I know this thread is not the one used for reporting bugs, but with missing texts in German at every "magnifying glas spot" in the game it is much less fun to me. Of course a better (fixed) AI / fighting/combat will also be highly appreciated. For the future of this beta and of this game I would appreciate if dev feedback is more frequently. So thanks for all your hard work and for keeping us updated.
  7. First of all you could have a look at the original kickstarter page of PoE. Maybe that helps as a first step.
  8. Why do computer games fascinate people? Because you get a feedback ever time you do something in a game. If your pac-man eats some dots or a ghost you get at once your points to bigger your high score. In a crpg like PoE it would be a lot of other things (e.g. exploring the wilderness, talking to NPCS in the way I like it as a character, accomplish tasks, etc.) that motivates me to play on and on. XP for slaying monsters is the most classic one and therefore I would realy like to see it in this game. But there are so many motivating things to do - to play in this game, that give you a positive feedback - even to listen to the great music and ambient sounds that XP for slaying monsters can even be on a very low place on the scale of importance. PoE is going a new way in terms of character attributes, so why not try to gain XP in a "new" (other) way than slaying monsters or picking locks.
  9. This is my first beta test and so I have no experience in this. I just backed for the beta key to see and play the game early. I am 100% sure, that by release the game will not have more bugs than any other AAA title. I am also quite sure that the next build will be much more playable. I guess it takes until the next update - maybe 2nd of September to get a new beta build.
  10. Regarding character portraits: nearly none of the portraits has been convincing me. I wish there would be a lot more portraits. And they should show more of the traits of a character. It feels to me as if it is hard to find a character portrait that fits to even a "mainstream" character. IMHO portpraits are not in the high quality the ones from Baldurs Gate have been. But this is only my opinion.
  11. My first impression was: WOW! This is the real Baldurs Gate feeling. The music and soundeffects are really amazing. I could listen to this music for hours. The second impression was: A very big load of bugs. So many obvious bugs that does not have to be even in a beta. Texts are very well written. I am switching between German and English Language and even the German translation of the story is as nice as a fantasy novel. Graphics of the character creation menu could be a little bit more polished. Combat is really cool but way to fast to follow and to keep track of everything so fast... Over all I think this will be a great game and has the potential to even get better or be as good (in terms of story-telling) as the old IE games If have to play a few more hours to find out how everything works. (E. g. how to use a lockpick)... To be coninued...
  12. I would like to see more companions, more areas to explore and everything else - if it does make PoE a better game. Even if it would cost more.
