  1. I've certainly had NPCs achieve LS Mastery when I played as a Jedi Master, however the stat bonuses didn't appear to work (eg as a Sentinel with LS Mastery Mira ought to have +3 Con but, on the stats screen at least, her Con was unchanged).
  2. Yes- the regular armour thing makes sense (Battle Precog is a Force Power and marked as incompatible with armour); but the whole point of the Jal Shey/ Zaison Sha armours (or however they're spelled) is that you can use Force Powers while wearing them, so the lack of the Wis bonus is odd.
  3. When discussing the Jedi's attitude to love with Handmaiden you can refer to "pulling a Bindo". When asked what that means Exile answers "Bad joke, bald guy, long story."
  4. Exile: Violet Kreia: Silver (if PC female), Viridian (if PC male) Atton: Orange and Green Bao-Dur: Cyan Handmaiden: Silver (double) Disciple: Viridian (double) Visas: Bronze (double) Mira: Yellow and Blue
  5. Then I guess I must have a very bloody stone... I can hit LS Mastery during my first visit to the Telos Secret Academy, and that's even after scoring a few DS points in conversation in order to increase Kreia's influence (the 'treat my allies as expendable' option).
  6. It felt to me more like a Star Wars movie: Darth Maul (gives you a mauling); Darth Sidious (is insidious); Darth Tyrranus (is tyrannical)
  7. The trouble is you're confusing ends with means. You don't lose the ranks in skills you purchased in your basic class but the number of points available to buy more ranks may change when you take a prestige class. Likewise the feats and powers you selected in your basic class don't disappear when you take a prestige class, but the number of feats and powers available to you each level may change. For your analogy to be correct a (for example) Sentinel turned Watchman would need to get two powers every level (because a Sentinel gets a power every level and a Watchman gets a power every level). That isn't the case so why should it be different for skill points?
  8. Well i hope so, for your sake. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i wonder when he pre-ordered his. (probably AFTER i pre-ordered mine) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I ordered my copy 15th Jan. It arrived just after 1pm, Friday 11th. Not bad considering I'm on Lewis in the Outer Hebrides and all our mail has to fly in. Sorry to hear Amazon.uk has been bad for some of you but I certainly have no complaints! Now back to the game (just under 12 hours in thus far)
  9. I'm a regular customer of play.com but it might be worth noting that they're based in Jersey and, while prompt, I've never had next day delivery from them (I'm based in Scotland, however, so perhaps it's different if you're in the London area). Amazon.uk orders, however, tend to reach me within a day or two of shipping and my location is pretty remote... Anyway, my Amazon order dispatched about 45 minutes to go so hopefully it will reach me tomorrow.
  10. Or you can just keep putting skill points into Persuade as the maximum skill level is 23 That's because NPCs can't use Persuade or put points into it so it's a bit pointless making it a class skill!
  11. Not true- Persuade is a class skill for Jedi and, because you don't really need Persuade on Taris, my Scout would take Persuade 2 at chargen then save a skill point each level up. Once I became a Jedi I'd put the seven saved points plus the two I received for levelling as a Guardian with Int 14 and I'd have Persuade 11. The most a Scoundrel could have in similar circumstances was 12 so I wasn't particularly disadvantaged.
  12. No offence but did you actually look at the page? It doesn't say either From or for, simply 'Preorder- 11-Feb-2005'. If you click 'preorder', however, you go to a basket page which contains 'Available 11-Feb-2005'. In otherwords you can preorder it now for release on Friday 11 February. Only 64 days to go!
  13. I'm pretty sure that actually means you can preorder it *now* for release on 11 February, the amazon.co.uk and play.com sites seem to confirm this.
  14. Apologies for threadjacking with a spot of pedantry but Int wasn't even that good. In KotOR you only get +1 skill point per +2 bonus (i.e. Int 10-13 = no extra Skill point; Int 14-17 = +1 etc.) Other than that I second all your questions, especially as regards the Jedi classes.
  15. My male PC will be Emrys Valthalion... strangely enough this is the same name that the Jedi Council gave to the reprogrammed Revan. I wonder if there can be a connection?
  16. Actually you can preorder it now (or at least you can at sites such as amazon.co.uk and play.com) for release on 11 th February.
  17. Agree about the spoilage but, given that Obsidian weren't involved with the original KotOR, I think a dedicated board is probably too much to ask- you might want to try the fora at bioware.com if you haven't already.
  18. Because in a world of limited resources, time and talent used introducing a (IMO) probably generic multiplayer option would be time and talent denied to maximising the solo experience.
  19. You've only got yourself to blame- as Aneurin Bevan put it, when you walk down the middle of the road you get hit by the traffic coming each way! :D
  20. Valid Point Ye maybe but it is quite a while until they release the pc version. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, about 90 days, which time will be spent on debugging and compatability issues rather than a radical redesign of the PC's appearance.
  21. Right now I'm trying to stay as spoiler free as possible so, knowing as little as I do about the NPCs, I can honestly answer that I don't have a clue!
  22. Yes, hopefully there will be a script that: 1. Allows NPC Jedi to recognise droids; and 2. Reminds them they possess powers in the Disable Droid tree!
  23. Given that the only NPCs you can't kill in KotOR are HK, Canderous and T3 I don't see how any of the others can reappear unless it was for a very quick cameo in a game where the Exile's responses have indicated that said NPC survived.
  24. Who says there won't be time to finish all the sidequests before the finale? That certainly wasn't the case with the original.
  25. I did although (while it didn't quite take me thirteen attempts) I didn't realise that first time through either. The little logic puzzle involved in that quest was one of the best in the game I think. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Who cares if you do or not have to kill it, its to easy to throw a Anti droid bolt down the hall and make short work of it.....!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Who cares? Myself and Planar Jedi apparently!
