Origin System's Crusader games. Its really too bad the third game was never made.

George Ziets(Though not sure if he actually returned to Obsidian)? Kevin Saunders? I like to think J.E is shelved aside from any possible big role in any projects for the moment until Sega knows what to do with the Aliens RPG.

http://tinyurl.com/djs77c Neverwinter Nights 2 sold 3 million copies? Whoah.

Bugga. Thought WoTC is bringing back Dark Sun into their 4th edition since they are reviving some old settings. Happends DS wasn't one of them. And for Ravenloft's status, quote from wiki: So Ravenloft has a pretty good chance to be ported into computer games. Problem though is whether they are willing to take risk in creating the game first as a marketing platformfor the reintroduction of Ravenloft, or take wait and see approach whether Ravenloft is profitable in their PnP market before making the move.

DarkSun and Ravenloft setting for D&D license. That's the way to go now in my opinion. Those settings are diffferent and unique enough with great prospects to make it very interesting in comparison with the present RPG market that consists of Warhammer, The Witcher, Elderscrolls, Dragon Age and the overused Faerun setting. So if Obsidian could make another expansion, try convincing Atari to let them make one based from Ravenloft since Dark Sun requires revamping of rules due to psychers and epic rulesets. If its a new RPG, convince them to let you make either based on the new D&D edition. There are some hardcore fans for those settings that if you make the games right, they'll be the ones who extend the longevity of the games through word of mouth for a long long time.

RPGcodex's Lets play TFTD thread is so much amusing to read. Feel free to sign up as the next batch of fodders! :D

I hope they retain the noir setting. Because based on the design of the website, it feels like they are straying to something else.

I'm only interested in one thing for ME2: That it uphold its promise of being capable of exporting the character, the in-game choices made from ME1 into the sequel to reflect the long term consequences.

Ravenloft: The Stone Prophet. Oh man, I'm seriously getting old for playing ancient RPGs. But again the RPGs in this age doesn't entice me anymore I guess.

Alpha Protocol on GTTV next Friday
Zoma replied to funcroc's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
Its because it was composed by the same guy who made Deus Ex's music. -
Will Alpha Protocol be shown in GDC?

I think he's simply a faction character based on the Taiwan hub. The chinese character on his cape is supposedly read as "Police". -
I couldn't finish Tetris. Ever. Computer cheats by making the blocks defy standard gravity when I became too good at the game.

But Bioshock at the very least has strong narrative to keep the player going forward to reach a goal. But by playing as a big daddy, its difficult to picture what motivations and goals a Big Daddy has in mind to keep the gameplay moving forward.

With this kind of gameplay, I assume its going to be a sandbox type of game?

Just remember, this is a hollywood based Spy RPG game. Hence you see all those cool moves, the mind boggling implementation of dual wielding SMGs, the possibility the gameplay utilizing infinite ammo for weapons. So its understandable without being agreeable why Obsidian is choosing style over realism in executing their combat system. This isn't an ultra realistic Splinter Cell game afterall. Read the CQC thread. Its stated that the progression of martial arts points will result in inclusion of new moves and longer combos. The repetitive moves shown in the video is likely to be the result of low skill input in the martial arts stats. But to be realistic, it is not likely we are to expect insane quantity of martial arts moveset since CQC is not the main combat system in AP as it is not a kung fu game, but rather a choice between gunplay. So Obsidian will not have the resources to implement a super awesome martial arts game, thus its goal is to balance the sharpness of the combat system between gun play and CQC.

-Wizardry 8 I love the game, but some dungeons are just too tedious to continue playing. Rampax castle for instance. -The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Reasons probably not needed to be listed. Bethesda RPG games after Morrowind are not catered to my taste. -GTA series I suck in driving, lolz. Got stuck in some driving missions in the end -Silent Storm Setting gets a too cheesy with the mechas for me to continue -Medieval 2: Total War I just plain sucked in Strategy games -Gothic 3 Performance issues -The Witcher Storyline further down just got too dark for my taste. Especially a decision down the road resulted in . I simply just couldn't continue playing the game. And lots of lists of games to go on. These are the more recent one I could remember playing.

Its true. Only the host gets to keep all the phat lewts and experience points. The player who joined is simply there to help the host 'richer'. Besides, its a poor RPG lite single player gameplay. Its simply not the worth to play DoW2 merely for the single player or its coop mode. The online multiplayer however can be fun, but its pretty much watered down in comparison to the first DoW into a squad combat fest which may or may not be to everyone's liking. Anyway, if you played the Beta you pretty much gonna expect what DoW2 is all about and probably already made up your mind what kind of game and if it is to your liking.

Fun things to point out in the trailer (Yes, I'm a jerk and love to burst people's hopes ) -All of the weapons the people are carrying in-game are without magazines -No bullet cases ejected when guns are fired -Mike's arms are weirdly twisted inwards when gliding downward the ropeline Btw, have question for Obsidian based on an old 1Up interview: This still in I hope? I noticed there are more than 3 standard JB options during dialogue afterall.

Well I'm sure they encourage pimping four women as MT's wives. . . but what about sex? Regardless, being Obsidian they are likely to pain the villains and settings in a black and white picture. Heck, some of the enemies MT are engaging seems to be innocent security guards or policemen doing their jobs in Taiwan setting. Regardless the sensitivity of the topic is understandable, considering Commander and Conquer: Generals was banned from China due to a Chinese embassy being bombed in a cut-scene(Ironically, the game was tailor made for Chinese gamers since the ending of the Chinese faction was deemed in the best light amongst the three). Unfortunately I doubt Obsidian could change much of the in-game content at the current stage for the Saudi Arabia market, so you could only keep your fingers crossed in how it turns out. Besides, was Call of Duty 4 banned in Saudi Arabia?

There's nothing special about the coop feature. You'll find it more fun playing Diablo 2 instead.

I prefer discussion of religion not to be mingled in a game forum. I thought there is one already in the off topic section?

BiA is a different story though, it got delayed for a year to the point where nobody cared. Worse, the gameplay was basically far inferior in comparison to its previous two series which made it difficult for the game to be recommended to others.

I doubt it'll be a direct competition to DA since DA isn't exactly directed towards the mainstreamers, especially in the console area. Based on the early impressions of DA on console, it was described as having 'complicated' controls for an RPG. If such statement was made, its definitely more complex than the KOTOR series which was tailor made for console RPGs unlike DA which was for the PC, and in turn may turn off casual gamers. AP on the other hand is an actiony RPG which would give somewhat more appeal to the casuals due to the absence of complexity in the gameplay system unlike DA. But again it depends on the level of polishness and presentation of the product as well as marketing power Sega is willing to invest in AP. Otherwise it would be an overlooked game during that period.

Ouch. That hurts for both Annie and Brian. But I guess its the nature of game development cycle that things will inevitably gets cut out/revamped.
