Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
Ah, figured out where to go next in Drezen... at least a bit further

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
Thank you 😁 If they don't respawn, I think I just have a bad habit of "cutting corners" that I somehow missed when going through areas first time (wouldn't surprised me if I regularly missed enemies at the limit of the fog of war areas). If they don't respawn, that would be a bit of a relief. As for resting... 🤯 The corruption meter is indeed blanked out and the occasional load screen hint tells me it's dangerous because corruption (can do all kinds of nasty stuff to my stats etc.), although I suppose the warning is not specific for the difficulty, just a standard load screen blurb. Have kept resting to minimum, but the mini bosses just seems to leave my party a bit depleted at times... Will keep resting as little as possible 👍 Edit: I could have sworn those duos of Vrocks weren't there when I walked through those gates the first time. Will pay closer attention 🤔 Edit2: Because I may previously have fought those close to the gates, but then climbed the walls to get to the other side... Edit3: Because assaulting castles with cavalry and having your horses, raptors, boars etc. using ladders is a thing 😂 Edit4: To be fair, only the horse (Iomedae) is a fully grown mount. Regills raptor (Raptus) is still too small as is Sosiels boar (Angus). The latter is hilarious, introducing me to the trip mechanic. Nothing like an evil sorcerer lying flat on his/her back because an ornery boar tripped them over

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
Almost cleared out the first map of Drezen. It sure doesn't hold your hand when comes to finding the sword of valour. Still no clue where it is and enemies seems to be respawning? Luckily I found a few spots where I can rest, even if it doesn't restore various permanent damages to my party. Ah well, Regill cracks the whip, I'm sure he'll make everyone up to the task once they've made enough crutches and stretchers for my party 😂 The GOG launcher gave me an achievement (don't remember the name) telling me I've kept all paths open. Guess I did something right somewhere 🤔 I guess this afternoon is going to be me running all over the map, fighting baddies, trying to see what I missed that could lead me to completing the mission... (I did meet the queen and Irabeth etc. after starting the assault)

My first car was a rear wheel drive and the second was a front wheel drive. That sums up my history with cars. Always wondered what driving AWD feels like 🤔

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
I'm about to enter Drezen. Together with Regill or his Hellknights. No idea if that's better or worse than joining the full frontal assault with the masses. Regarding Nurah:

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
Made it to a place called Lost Chapel. My party slightly smaller due to plot stuff atm. Before that, I went to visit one hell of a hard hitting guy (pun semi intended). Called something along the lines of Pain Connoisseur (I don't remember his first name, we never really got formally introduced). Need a couple of tries to defeat the guy. No amount of defensive spells seemed to prevent him from killing one companion per round, unless running away very fast (and then he uses dimensional portal to catch up). He ignores grease etc. too. But... in the end, then winner of the day were the level 0 and 1 spells 😂 I noticed his spell resistance would shrug off anything my party could throw at him otherwise, so I just piled acid touch and acid arrow on him (ignores spell resistance). He downed all 6 party members and started doing unspeakable things with the corpses or some such, when the damage over time from the acid eventually did him and my otherwise defeated party started slowly getting back on their feet (because normal mode and its default settings allows them get up rather than bleed out or some such). Back to camp and rest, but I did get a very nice chainmail of comraderie (sp?) out of it 😎 edit: the game switched from turn based to real time when my last party member entered deaths door, so things happened very fast. I only know how he died from the combat log. Not the most elegant of victories, but I'll take it anyway 😁

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
I did think it a bit funny, that I could equip Seelahs horse with potions. Including acid and fire for throwing at enemies. I just keep forgetting it though, because it's so un-intuitive. I'll take note of the outflanked ability. Did invest in dazzling display for a few characters (my main and Regill for now Iirc, will check the rest as I get to respec them). But I'll make a note of outflanked being a preferred feat, when leveling up to 8 👍 Edit: I suspect Lann and Sosiel are up next for a visit to the camp trainer. It took me a bit to figure out that the raptors start as lizardlings and you can't use them as mounts at lower levels. It's still small, because it's only level 6 where the rest of the party is level 7 (and 6 is where it "grows up" to become medium and rideable for Regill)

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
Rather than restarting the game at this point, I admitted defeat to my curiosity and did a second respec of my main character. Current level is 7 and is now 4 levels of Barbarian - Instinctual Warrior and 3 levels of Alchemist - Vivisectionist. I changed Regill previously to have a level of Inquisitor - Beasthunter (I don't remember the exact archetype, but the one that gave him an animal companion). I actually respecced him a second time, but that was to respec his animal companion. I had first given it finesse in something it didn't have, only noticing later its attacks are Talon. Camellia got changed too. Mostly to make her ranged (keeping her class for now). All Rapier related skills replaced with longbow equivalents. Question for the panel, is composite longbow a longbow when picking feats or is its own class? I have a nice spare +2 composite longbow I would like to use without having to spend a lot of money at the vendor. I splurged the 30k+ gold for some fancy gimmick for Ember that allows her to cast more fire based spells that she couldn't cast before. Edit: That guy in the medic tent with all the scrolls and gadgets has some nice, but rather pricey stuff 😝

What are you Playing Now? Whatever happens, at least we're out of that mudhole, Gilded Vale.
I feel like I only just got the game the other day, but the GOG launcher claims I've spent 50+ hours on the game already. That's scary 😖 Hopefully that number includes the hours I've left the game paused! Edit: Game being Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

Ukraine Conflict - "There is no instance of a nation benefitting from prolonged warfare"
Serbia and Russia have old ties, that has little or nothing to do with "Admiration". They are both ethnic Slavs (even if not the same "brand" of Slavs), same religion (Orthodox), lots of cultural similarities and when **** hit the fan in WWI, Russia was the first one standing up for Serbia against Germany and the Habsburg Empire. Sort of a big brother/little brother kind of relationship. If you feel kinship with someone, you ask less critical questions. Edit: Serbia and Russia special relationship has its own Wiki page, showing the shared history of the last few centuries (back to 1547) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russia–Serbia_relations#18th_century

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
I wonder if I can name it Hannibal?... 😁 @ShadySands I don't remember the name from top of my head (I'm at work atm), but it's related to the dragon scale I picked up in act 1, you have to find more info about the silver dragon.

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
@ShadySands the camp was indeed just next door to Lepers Smile! 👍 I hope Kenabres becomes accessible again at some point, as there is at least one unresolved side quest taking place there. As for romances...

I'm heading to bed now (it's 2:20am), but I'll check out the area outside Lepers Smile tomorrow 👍

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
Speaking of patches... noticed this on the GOG forums in the wotr patch note thread: (someone was asking about the large size of the 1.4.1 beta patch) 2) Yes, it is a big update to the underlying code, prepping the way for the upcoming 2.0.0 (Enhanced Edition) version of the game, that is currently scheduled to be released on September 29, 2022. Which I guess gives a date for a major update? I ran unto a small problem. Where the heck did the crusader camp go??? Last thing I know, it had relocated to the bridge across the river when my army took that place (that's where I last visited it). But after Lepers Smile, I can no longer find the camp anywhere on the map? Also, Kenabres (sp?) has become effectively inaccessible (because I wanted to check as a last ditch resort of the camp had migrated there). I can enter the local map and click the North Gate location, but it just loads for a while, giving me a load screen and then kicks me back to the city map. I would like to access a vendor and get rid of a bit of corruption at some point 😖

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
Yeah, I noticed the choice of companions for missions getting harder and poor Regill just doesn't have a uniquely useful niche(for me). Working with the HoMM Lite system, trying to clear a way to Drezen (which I keep hearing as 'Dresden' when the NPC's talk about it) Keeping an eye out for generals that comes with a bonus to army size from the first level, as 4 stacks of troops just trumps most other leader abilities at early levels. Haven't run across sieges yet though 🤔 Cleared out the two caves at Lepers Smile. One had a bunch of insects and the other a bunch of undead. The later kept getting up on their feet until I grabbed a wand stuck somewhere in the middle of the fight. It gave me good and evil options, but I did the Barbarian thing and stuck it in my bag. It may be worth something some day. Edit: Ember was literally standing on top of the wand, so she just had to bend over and touch it (because I clicked on it out of curiosity *cough*) to take what I assumed was a necromancer out of the fight.

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
New patch (1.4.0y) on Steam. No idea if GOG version (the one I have) has been updated https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1184370/view/3225161106688762145 Not going to to quote the patch note here. The list of bug fixes is 3 light years long

Funny Stuff: Joke-Wing vs Meme Fighter
Reminds me of that jab Ricky Gervais took at him at one of the Golden Globes some years ago. Leonardo di Caprio went and see Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (one of those several hour long movies). By the end of it his date was too old for him. At least Leonardo could laugh at the joke and not make sour faces like Tom Hanks and the rest that evening. If somebody hasn't watched those Youtube videos, do yourself a favour and watch Ricky roasting Hollywood celebrities at the globes. Comedy gold.

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
It's a game of too many options and poor peons like me have to learn half of it on the fly (only knowing half of it before starting). Never held a rule book in my hands, so all my "knowledge" is from similar games (and older/simpler incarnations of the rules) In my first play through, I rely a lot (maybe too much) on the default leveling of companions and try to made best, educated guesses for my main, while sticking to the "theme" of a happy go lucky Barbarian looking for fights, women and wine. That being said, the advise to change Seelah from having wet dreams about swords to horses instead was gold, it worked miracles for her party utility. No longer the lumbering walrus arriving long after the fight is over. Listening, learning, sometimes adopting and adapting my team without it becoming a group of strangers for me

The All Things Political Topic - We hang the petty thieves and appoint the great ones to public office
Sentencing individuals to capital punishment for crimes against humanity is not unheard of. Such individuals rarely get their own hands dirty. But, instead of punishment and consequences for ruining million of peoples lives, they got rewarded with performance bonuses, stock options or in a few very worst cases, millions of dollars worth golden handshakes (to save face in the public). All of it because of personal greed, gambling other peoples money away. Not sure they really classify as humans or are entitled to the same legal and ethical protections that most people are... 🤔

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
@Gromnir Oooh... he can ride smaller mounts because of his size? I'll keep that in mind. I didn't give him any level ups yet. Mostly because I had no idea which direction to take him in. All options are still on the table for him. Thank you 👍

The All Things Political Topic - We hang the petty thieves and appoint the great ones to public office
As far as I know, none of the responsible bank CEO's or board members got executed. Not even the 20+ years jail time they deserve. Nothing has been learned and nothing addressed. A repeat of 2008 just got kicked 10-15 years down the road.

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
I recruited Regill... 😂 After Jan Jansen, I never thought I would suffer a Gnome in my party. Nenio is allowed to remain at the moment, since she lost her Gnomishnes. Regill is allowed to stay because I like his attitude. He's everything you would not associate with a Gnome 😁

Did my first, tentative rides on my new bicycle last night. Good thing it was late at night and I had the road for myself. I needed the entire width of the road for the first few hundred meters 😂 Mind you, the only bicycle I've been riding since 2003 is an exercise bike (and a several years of motorcycle riding, which is very different)
