Full Voice Acting in RPGS
I've only seen one game so far with what I consider consistently good voice acting: VMBL Other games have had some outstanding performances flanked by a lot of mediocre supporting cast. Makes you wonder how much of a games budget is voice acting and if it wouldn't have been better spent on other things (like hiring more QA staff)"

Men Smarter than Women
Thanks Eldar (sorry Azarkon, didn't see that one) The point being, boys and girls have different ways of using their bodies and body language. For some reason or other (which people which are more knowledgeable than I can elaborate on endlessly), boys seems to use strength and aggressiveness to establish their order in the hierarchy of the group. Whether it be the bully, the brightest or just the most daring. There is a competitiveness built into them that nees expression one way or the other. If left unchanneled, it leads to frustration, anger (and the dark side) and insecure human beings, because you remove an important part of their social skill training. As Eldar said, it's not about arranging pit fights and encourage them to beat each other up, but to let them "work it out" in ways that let them channel that energy and aggressiveness in one way or other, like regular sports or other physical demanding activities. Yes, it's probably more comfortable and easier to deal with kids if they are just sitting still, using their hands and heads (and mouths) in nice and less attention requiring ways (like not trying to see if it's possible to dig a hole through the floor). Girls, as somebody mentioned elsewhere are often more "stealthy" (I think that was the word used), I would say devious, when settling conflicts and establishing pecking orders. The conflicts and competitiveness is still there, but as long as they all survive the day, the less visible and less damaging to the environment way of small girls behaviour appears to be more appealing to those who manage large groups of kids.

Men Smarter than Women
I don't know if people (sexes) should be treated equal. We are different after all, even in our psychological make up. Equal opportunity, same salaries for same jobs etc. however is a completely different matter which I think nobody in their right mind can argue against. A generation of young screwed up men is growing up, having had their competitive urges suffocated during young ages by kindergarten pedagogues (sp?) who treats the kids euqally and demands that the boys suppress their nature (and pretty much expect them to behave like girls, i.e. play nicely, no fist fights etc.). Only now is the damaging effects on the psyche of male kids really showing. So tell society that they can go sit on a cactus, there is a difference "

Men Smarter than Women
Heh, my own observations may be considered flamebait or not. Just work related observations over the last 15-20 years in IT. Men generally appears to be the more creative thinkers and makes great inventors, whereas women seems be better administrators and makes awesome project managers. But then, your mileage may vary depending on what industry you work in

IIRC, the deal was they sold the rights to Bethesda to develop and publish three Fallout titles (as in Fallout 3, 4 & 5) with full intellectual control of what they were doing with the franchise in those titles.- What game soundtracks do you have on your pc?
A bunch of the ones that were available on the old Interplay website for download (mostly the Fallouts and Torment) and a bunch of "re-implemented" C64 classic game tunes  Nothing else really. Wouldn't mind a VMBL soundtrack though... had a lot of good music.- Amerika
A social experiment with an expected lifespan of about 300 years. That would give a "Best before" date of about 2096 or such (give or take a few decades), if you want to take note of the results- Fallout
Age is no excuse, some things are unforgivable! Anoint yourself in virgin oil (young virgins preferably, the older ones have a bitter after taste) and sacrifice a black male hen (correct term for that animal gets eaten by censorship here) and invoke the name of Jobuu. He might forgive you, a Fallout fan wont :D- Amerika
Standard disclaimer: This is no bashing, just ignorance speaking, but didn't it take quite a while before the one person one vote thing was actually implemented. IIRC black people didn't have a vote or parlamentary representatives pre. 1861 and it was even later before the equal opportunity thing was available to "everybody" ?- T.O.M.B.S, vol 2
[cryptic]One day, you will realise, that what you see are the shadows on the wall...[/cryptic]- What sequel do you want made.....
That would be "Dirty Old Harry" :D As far as movies goes, somebody already mentioned Bladerunner. Wouldn't mind seeing a Leon II or a Sixth Element either. As for games, a real Master of Orion 3 or a Baldurs Gate 3 (the latter looking more and more like vapourware after that Atari guys accidental slip a long time ago)- Odysseus the embodiment of cunning...
I seem to remember some old text book material that suggested, that homosexuality between males, were the highest form of affection, whereas between females were considered the lowest form (men being considered "higher" beings than women). It might of course be all urban legends and I usually question the validity of older school text books. As for the use of epithets in oral poetry, how much is a tool for memorisation and how much is a tool for truly describing aspects of characters ? Are the gentlemen discussing the merits of epithets really discussing things, that the original author never thought about ? But just used ad hoc because it was the way it was done and the way it was intended to be used ? Oh, now that I remember it, was Odysseus really as smart as the author gives him credit for ? I seem to remember me questioning once whether his use of metis was deliberate or a result of adrenaline induced resourcefulness....- Odysseus the embodiment of cunning...
Excerpts please ? Now it gets interesting For us non scholars, it's a bit hard to argue whether or not Millman is an authority or not :"> We'll take you word for it (for now)- Odysseus the embodiment of cunning...
Tsk tsk tsk... you know Eldar is a pointy eared, magic loving tree hugger ? Btw. Eldar, whatever happened to your paper on Odysseus and Metis/Polymetis ?- A Poll on Literary Genre Interests
One of the advantages/disadvantages of being old is, that it has been a bit of each, depending on what period in life. My first love was encyclopedias (yes, I'm that weird), followed by LotR when I grew up to be a teenager. Later followed by stuff like Dragonlance and belgian comics. Later it was true junkfood like Stephen King and David Eddings, a bit sci-fi (Weiss&Hickman) and more moody stuff like Stephen Donaldson. Eventually you get fed up with all his angst filled writing and go back to easier to digest stuff. Today, I mostly read web pages (and the odd fora) :cat:" Edit: And btw. David Gemmel is awesome - What was your first memorable game?
