  1. ... Just campaigning for a Project New Jersey Section
  2. Hmm... Good ol' days that would be stuff that is 10+ years old... that exludes all the BIS games Games that have been the most costly in sleep, grades, lost work etc. would some of the following.... Gridrunner (Llamasoft/Jeff Minter) - The very first computer game ever I bought. Sword of Fargoal and Temple of Apshai (Epyx) - Sigh... The sheer number of hours spent dungeon crawling. Beat that Icewind Dale Lords of Midnight and Doomdarks Revenge (Mike Singleton) - For me the ultimate computer games ever. I still play them on C64 emulators today. The only game I ever did bother to program a 16 bit version of for my Amiga 4000  Summer Games (Epyx) - Killer of joysticks... I still suspect peripheral manufacturers of sponsoring the development of these types of games. Nato Commander (Microprose) - Dunno how many nights were spent on this. the first real time with pause game I ever played, around 1984. Monty Mole (Antony Crowther) - The silly tune still haunts me, when trying to figure out if a set of pipes are climbable... nevermind... Ultima IV (Origin/Richard Garriot) - Needs little explanation. Second biggest time robber after the LoM/DDR games above. International Soccer (Commodore) - My very first (and only) "console game". A cartridge game for the C64. Probably responsible for the death of a few joysticks too. Zork I-III and Deadline (Infocom) - Doesn't really need a lot of explanation either. Forbidden forest (Cosmi) - Forget about Resident Evil. This is the spookiest game ever made for homecomputers  Jumpman/Jumpman Jr. (Epyx) - The ultimate platform games. Did I mention that Epyx was one of the greatest game companies ever ? Phantasie I-III (SSI) - I still remember taking some kind of perverse pleasure in killing Nikademus (Sp?) Defender of The Crown (Cinemaware) - Less depth than I would wish in a "strategy" game, but the Whoa effect from the gfx and music just couldn't be ignored. Not to mention, for a bunch of pixels, the damsels, well... ehh... next! Wings (Cinemaware) - So simple a flightsim, yet the combined package and campaign was awesome. Spent literally months playing through WWI Elite (Acorn Soft/Ian Bell/David Braben (Sp?)) - They just don't make them like that anymore X-Com (Microprose) - Needs no explanation... Champions/Death knights of Krynn (SSI) - I loved the original three books by Weiss/Hickman, loved the first two games in the series too. Probably 50-80 games worthy of honourable mention too, especially some racing and strategy games, but that might be a challenge for anybodys attention span
  3. And you wonder why the world has religious fundamentalists... :D Anyway, the Gamespot interview was slightly predictable. The interview at NMA was way more fun reading.
  4. Ultima IV. Still remember getting that nice big box with all the goodies in it, maual, ref chart, map of Britannia and a plastic Ankh... I gave III a try after that, but didn't complete it. IV had way superior music and sliglty easier on the eyes gfx on the C64 version compared to the PC version, you might want to find those and try on a C64 emulator intead of the ugly PC version.
  5. What do you have against Scandinavians ?!? ... Just kidding :(" ... For a good sample of the Swedish language "melody", go find an episode of The Muppet Show and listen to the Swedish Cook :D
  6. In this case, both will do nothing. You have to take the fight to the guy who holds the trigger end of the gun. Otherwise, he'll just sit there, watch everybody else wallow in the mud, get a good laugh and continue doing what he has always been doing, for it doesn't really affect him. I.e. figure out, where can I cause a change if I swing back, it's not always the easily accessible places that are the best for it... Voting with your $ has always been an effective option.
  7. The only thing I noticed, was that I no longer had to squint to find the interface, lost like a little dot somewhere on the middle of a big empty screen... As for colours, pretty unimportant. Kotor 3 is probably going to be red, just for the sake of doing the whole RGB spectrum
  8. Something like the first Sunday after the first fullmoon after spring equinox (I'm not kidding).
  9. He does have a point though, although it's exaggerated somewhat. There are a few people here and there, whose combination of hardware/driver/windows whatever doesn't agree with the old game engine. It's not so much that they want to voice a complaint, that their particular platform is having issues, but the attitude and general bad manner in which it is done. Too many people which doesn't get it, that this place is not their god given right to public humiliate themselves by pathetic whining, but a privilege provided by a company who in no way is obliged to as much as to listen to complaints. If people feel a need to complain in rather unconstructice ways, why not head over to L.A.s forums and tech support and complain. It is after all L.A. who did the testing and decided it fit for release, as well as doing the official tech support, since they own the game, everything included ? Damn, I really shouldn't try to cut down on the coffee...
  10. I do seem to remember a bug, when trying to reenter the mortuary... There was a work around, but it's all from old memory now (never ran into it myself, just reciting what I read elsewhere)... There is a guy, Pox, which you can ask to give you lift into the mortuary, that should "circumvent" the naughty trigger. Of course, it only works if it's that particular bug you are running into. You might want to ask Pox for a ride.
  11. Sadly no... Sadly, no So I've put PS:T on the shelves untill I find a solution or get a new computer/OS/whatever were the problem doesn't occur... Stupid technology... You might want to try Whitemithrandirs suggestion, I think you can dig platter up somewhere around here http://www.planescape-torment.org If you find a fix, I''m pretty sure Panda would appreciate you sharing the solution
  12. Behold the wisdom of the Simpsons (which is surprisingly profound sometimes) :D No matter what the intention was, the result is going to be a "War of The Wor(l)ds" Edit: Just to be a good sport and on-topic, I'll say "Star Wars" although I can't change my vote anymore. Without "Star Wars", there would'n't have been any SW universe, nor the EU nor the Kotors and other games.
  13. Kreia did say something about not being able to "read" the Iridonian or some such, and that it irritated her Sorry, not much help. I would really like to know what happened to my party in the immediate future too.
  14. Voted "Other" There is nothing Great about wars. You can have the war involving most troops and material or the war of most significant consequences or the costliest in lives etc. but great ? Not really
  15. I'm sure that will make the beta testers sleep a lot easier now. Working in QA seems like Darwinism in it's truest form... test or die, test and die, etc.
  16. Well, good luck then I'll just ask Pandaman anyway if he ever found a solution to his problem. Sounds like you guys ran into the same thing.
  17. I've heard about this bug before http://www.winterwind-productions.com/foru...opic.php?t=2628 but we never discovered a cause or fix. The only thing I remember was that there at some point was issues with logitech drivers and I.E. games, but then, my memory may be faulty on the subject, never had the issue myself.
  18. Heh, didn't notice that because he always shows up after I've emptied his box. This is usually the first DS I get on Telos when showing him the error of stopping an armed thief.
  19. Actually, so did one of the inhabitants of one the apartments too on Telos... I almost dropped my lower jaw when a guy complained about me looting his apartment Can't really remember if there was a lot of looting innocent peoples stuff in Kotor2...
  20. I didn't vote, because polls like this are generally useless. I'll just make a quick note of what I liked and disliked about each. Taris: Was fun the first time through. It had sewers, 'nuff said, no self respecting crpg should be without sewers, I love sewers. The quests were pretty basic, but introduced you to a bit of background, the Sith and everything else with a big red sign that said PLOT THIS WAY -->. The downside to Taris was, after the first run through, you A) didn't care because you knew the planet would be nuked anyway and b) You wanted to avoid levelling up because of the stupid unvountary jedidom enforced upon you. Peragus: Pretty much the same as Taris, was interesting the first time through, because you could piece together a rather interesting story of what happened after your arrival. Suffers the same drawbacks as Taris too, the place gets nuked and it's just getting a few xp and some loot and off to start the "real" game. Telos, I would compare to Dantooine, and frankly, I liked dealing with Ithorians, Czerka, The Exchange, The TSF and others more than killing Kath Hounds and settling feuds between farmers (and that murder case that I made a point of avoiding after the first time)...
  21. Currently listening to Planescape: Torment soundtrack. Thanks to the boys and girls from Interplay who provided the downloads before it went offline. You know who you are I've done a bit of searching on the net every now and then, but never found any info on Mark Morgan... Did he ever do anything besides the Fallout and PS:T music ?!? And how did BIS ever get the idea of letting him do the music ?
  22. T3 He got the skills, the staying power, the damage dealing ability and the good looks. Don't need either of the other two
  23. The first crpg I can remember playing would be the original Temple of Apshai by Epyx in 1983-84. The first crpg I can remember actually completing was Phantasie by SSI in 1985. Never played a console game (watching my 5 year old nephew play doesn't count). Edit: The above games were C64 versions btw.
  24. Could it be related to this: http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=32268 I stopped caring about the movies a while ago, but even I would shiver at the thought of Jar Jar Binks destroys the Death Star. I hope it's just some digital filtering of the originals for 3D showings...
  25. The various replies you can get regarding your looks when turning darkside. One of the cantina owners (can't remember which) offered me an ointment for my "condition" One unintentionally funny one was caused by the random loot system. After having taken out some automated gun turrets, one the turret remains had some meditation gloves. Somehow, trying to depicture in my mind what a gun turret would use meditation gloves for was just... too absurd and I burst out laughing
