Got to meet Nocticula. I guess I'm not going to finish the last few treasure islands for now. Ah well... I don't know if I can continue my journey there later. It was accessible from chapter iii and iv. If not, I'll just play the DLC separately when it gets fixed (if ever). While robbing her place, I found second half of an important book. Decided to cooperate with Nocticula up the point of not sharing either half the book with her. She agreed to offer protection for my camp while I go somewhere to do some dirty work for her, because doing so is supposedly beneficial for both of us. The voyeur guy always hovering over my shoulder threw a hissy fit and went back to home to Iomedae or whatever. I suppose his role as my guardian angel in the city has come to an end No missions marked as "chapter critical" left (besides jumping headfirst into a portal out of town). So, that's what's up for tonight. Looks like if I had been a different mythic path, I could have flirted a bit with her. As is, she turned down all my attempts at getting to know her better

To be fair, 1) it was entirely possible to overestimate Putin. I know I was guilty of it, thinking him smarter than he was (turned out he was just another nationalist/patriot), and 2) US intelligence brought their bad reputation on themselves. Reputation is like that, you can damage your trustworthiness through a single mistake (if it's big enough) and it takes a tenfold of brilliant actions to rebuild the lost trust again.

The TV and Streaming Thread: Summer Reruns
Gorth replied to InsaneCommander's topic in Way Off-Topic
That brings back some nostalgic memories of a different time and a different world... Peter Falk as Columbo was one of those shows I grew up with (because it made it to Danish television in the 70's and 80's) Edit: What was that other show they always showed back then... a guy starting with cutting up the corpses and then working his way backwards towards the crime and the perpetrator. Dr. Quincy I think it was called (in Danish TV) -
Made it to the ninth island. Killed everything living, dead, undead and otherwise until the end. Clicking on the little hand icon says I need to kill the guardian and loot the place before I can leave the island. Guess what? No guardian. Just to confirm it's not a one off bug. Some reddit thread came closest with a non-official solution (not going to fiddle around with toybox): >If you have Toybox you need to spawn Ywrag the Defiant if he doesnt appear on floor 9. >His ID is something like DLC3_CR15_DemodandStringy_level8_Minibosss Luckily I considered myself warned and save a game in a separate slot, where I had gone on shore to sell stuff to the chaplain in the harbour. I do lose a bit of progress (island nine), but at least it doesn't block my one and only game.

Currently at Island no. 7 I think. I didn't do them in chapter iii (I went there by accident, not knowing I got keelhauled into the DLC on the main map). Completed 2 islands, decided it was a bit challenging for my then level 11 or thereaboutish party. Now doing it at level 15 in chapter iv. A walk in the park so far. Would like to emphasize 'so far'. As mentioned above, you never know what to expect difficulty wise when you move 10' further ahead in this game I suspect the treasure isles doesn't level scale, hence why it feels so much easier with a handful extra levels gained. Edit: Hardest encounter so far (just landed on island 7):

Would you look at that? It does indeed make roof top access easier! It was probably one of those self fulfilling negative expectation things. I didn't expect it to work, so I never tried it, therefore it didn't work Lesson learned (cleared out most of the roof tops). Solved a few more companion quests. Greybor is finished, Lann and Wenduag's differences got resolved in a conclusive way. Camellia is happy (and horny as never before). Nenio got to experience "friendship", stopping short of "friends with benefits". Sosiel's brother joined my party. Not too shabby for the general brawl fights. Notable outstanding companion quests are for Arueshalae and Ember (oh my...). Got hot date with a demoness at the arena. Still some ways off being notorious enough to be noticed by the local ruler. Bought a bunch of slaves too. In true chaotic fashion, some got sacrificed in the arena (to buy myself entry to the more interesting fights), some got set free, some got sent to the Nexus. The new proprietor of The Ten Thousand Delights was more agreeable to Camellia's requests. It was apparently not the first visit of hers. I did try out some of the merchandise before Camellia of course (just quality control, you know...), which gave me three demon heads, which i keep for later use, as I don't remember from top of my head having any use for them. Herrax also functions as a vendor with some higher end equipment.

Oh stop trying to radicalize our youth to your fascist ideologies, save the nationalist preaching for the political thread

Short version, I'm stuck in hell for a while Thanks for the heads up. I am getting the hang of the moving buildings and also made it to the top city level. Did Woljifs personal quest up there. After some street thug and his body guards had weakened my party before getting there (and me being too lazy to go all the nexus, as I don't have a token for the portal to this part of the city). Also beat the local arena star, so I made myself a name (although they still call me Mephit Slayer, even if it's now for fun rather than derogatory it seems)

Probably part of the Bad Moon clan: The Bad Moons are a powerful and very wealthy Ork "klan." The Bad Moons are the richest of all the Ork klanz. This is because their teeth grow faster than anyone else's, meaning that even the lowliest Bad Moon Ork has a steady supply of the standard form of Ork wealth. This is not regarded as an unfair advantage, as any Ork who is big and ferocious enough can simply smash the teeth out of a Bad Moons' head. ... They are always continuously buying, selling, swapping, and conning to get teeth.

I was right, I ended up going to hell Ok, not quite. I'm sure The Midnight Isles is somewhere where good guys don't go in the afterlife. It was a bit tricky at first, but I managed to navigate around. Picked up half a dozen companion quests, found the respec guy (I'll try changing my mythic skills into Perception instead of Athletics. Found the arena too and I'm not known as the Mephit Slayer Found a bit of Cold Iron and some magic hides/skin of magic creatures too. I seem to remember the storyteller needing that to complete another artifact for me. Buying a lot of slaves, a few nice (and very expensive) pieces of gear from one of the vendors. Someone had those special crystals, but the name was in quotes, so I suspect it was ironically meant and he was trying to rip me off with forgeries (and didn't pay 50k gold for it). After getting ripped off badly by the inn keeper, I realized this was not a good place to sleep. Too much corruption (I'm in hell, duh!) and too much ambush at night. Took me a while to realize the Hand of Iomedae had set up a nice, safe camp for me in the Nexus. Edit: Found a few tokens, that allows me to use the portal for at least a bit of quick travel.

Warhammer 40k Squats are back! No, I'm not going to collect a Squat army. I have piles of unpainted miniatures, lots of them still in blister packs or shrink wrapped boxes. Collateral damage from constantly moving interstate/internationally. I sort of get along well with the local Games Workshop staff and the local manager gave me one of the new Squat miniatures to try out. I said yes, with the caveat that I haven't actually painted a single miniature for more than a decade. Shopped for some paint, dusted off my old brushes and settled on an orange colour scheme. Because why not? I can now check something off list. I've never in my 30+ years of playing Rogue Trader/Warhammer/WH40k etc. painted anything orange. Not even a Dwarf Slayer (and I do have a box with Gotrek and Felix). GW did change the name though, they are no longer called 'Squats', but 'Leage of Votann', because that is apparently a much cooler name for Squats (aka Dwarves in space). My first real paint job in 10+ years

I was a bit lazy and after disabling the two closest traps, had Ember mass dimension door my party to the rear (to disable the rear traps), then spam chain lightning like there was no tomorrow. With elemental affinity: electricity, she's surprisingly effective at overcoming resistances. That was meta gaming a bit, because I knew I needed to hit enemies in there with various lightning to overcome regeneration (which wiped me for good in my first visit). Stormlord's Resolve was definitely an unexpected bonus. I had resigned myself to just spam lightning bolt as spontaneous spells with Ember and maybe use a few lightning wands on other party members. You hear me Seelah's horse? There is something for you to learn how to use!... (as well as elemental resistance electricity, stone skins etc.) Edit: As for successfully casting polymorph on him... omg

When I first read the title (before clicking the link), I had mental image of a giant trebuchet launching a cow into space... I need to lay off the Monty Python videos

You don't say I was scratching my head at some point when Finnean just kept passing through enemies. Gave my barbarian a spare weapon for the rest of the fight. He may not be super proficient in longsword (I think it was either a +1 or +2 that I for some reason was lugging around in my inventory to sell later). I seriously thought Finnean was going through some kind of existential crisis when he no longer connected with the physical world It only took seven tries to get playful darkness down. Used Guarded Hearth, Smites, Bonds, Banes, Mark of Justice, Aru's bond ability, Death Wards, a few summons (my pet demon that Ember summons from her belt is just brilliant) and a handful pillars summoned by Sosiel. I think most of the attempts were trying to figure out how to kite the enemy to the pillars (without getting my party killed in the process). That harpy Galfrey is still keeping the door closed though, so now I'm in a place called The Nexus. I'm probably going to hell for this... Edit: Also, the Trickster Spellbook is growing in hilariousness. I didn't try to cast Hallucinogenic Cloud or Bears Grace on him (nor Fish missiles etc. as I think his resistance would make it an exercise in futility), but I did cast Glorious Beard on Seelah and Almost Greater Invisibility on myself as well as Summon Monster Zero. Maybe I should have cast the beard spell on Sosiel instead. He could use a bit of facial hair Edit2: For the experienced Tricksters out there, which tricks makes most sense? I currently give him Athletics because he already has a very high athletic skill point level, so leveraging that seemed like the logical thing to do for a barbarian, but would it have been more beneficial to pick another skill to focus on?

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 4
Gorth replied to Vaeliorin's topic in Computer and Console
More Pathfinder adventures this way -
I know this was a reply to IC, but I did notice how the otherwise neutral workers got all upset when Sosiel used his aoe heal. While I didn't think much about it at the time, I'll check out pillar of light as a weapon against playful darkness. I hope I won't need to rest too many times down here, because corruption levels have already surpassed '1' Bastard queen shut the door and threw the key away after shoving me through the doorway. Of course i completely missed the point, that he (playful darkness) may be optional at this point. That would just be so atypical to my current experience with the game (so far) The game does bring back memories of BG and BG2. Sort of what I imagine a modern remake of those oldies would look like. Also memories of the sheer amount of time sunk into it I still keep Finnean as my barbarians weapon (greatsword) and I noticed he has "grown" stat wise. I don't know if that is level dependent or story progress dependent as I find out more and more about Finnean's background before he became all sharp and edgy.
