  1. Nah, not yet. Figured I would nuke FF tonight and do a new install of it edit: I probably should wipe the boot drive and refresh my 8 year old windows installation (it’s older than my pc as I simply moved the hdd from my previous pc)
  2. Ran into a dragon on the road in what felt like a not so random encounter. I wonder if that was linked to Greybors companion quest It sent Camellia to “deaths door” but otherwise decided it was better to flap away and fight some other day when I started hurting it. I think I’m getting hang of the crusade management. It really is a bit like playing the old HoMM
  3. Nothing an EMP pulse can’t fix?
  4. My curiosity got the better of me and I decided to respec a bit to try out a few different things. My barbarian is now truly living on the edge of the chaotic life, embracing the "Mad Dog" archetype, riding a (wrecker) triceratops. I remembered to put some stat points in INT for the Trickster path, but mostly just STR and CON (and the leftover in INT). Picked some nice feats like limitless rage and reckless rage (and the one that shares my rage with my team so we're all going to be raging barbarians). It was a bit of a toss up between a skald or a vivisectionist level for now (level 10). In the end, I did like the mutagen better (i.e. vivisectionist). I might try the skald later tonight and see how that pans out. Also ran into a skeleton merchant a few times as a random encounter. Bought a few nice things for the team.
  5. Doesn't that only apply in a war? Remember, according to Putin there is no war, just a special military operation. I.e. no official state of war exists, so the rules of war don't apply, only peace time rules.

    AI artwork

I thought the art was in making the AI and training it. Not whatever individual attempts at results it produces
  7. That's it. This game is dead to me
  8. In act iii for now. Managed to get rid of a very obnoxious demon army somewhere west of Drezen. Bloody thing kept one shotting my units, one after the other Used some pre-battle buff (elemental resistance iirc, although not 100% sure about that one). Changed tactics from trying to survive the fight to just kill the enemy army dead before my own troops got all wiped out. I.e. don't try to heal through it or place nice tactics. Offensive wizard spells and just ganging up on units. My shield bearers with defensive mode activated actually survived 3 rounds this time, buying a few more rounds for my wizard general and my hell knights etc. to win the fight. In the end, the losses were mostly expendable/easy to replace units. Went to a place named something along the lines of where the road meets a bend in the river or some such. Entered the cave, expected a nice little dungeon romp, just to realize I am now trapped in the DLC with no way back My party was completely not prepared for that, I might just go back to the 3rd autosave or so, made upon entering the cave. I cleared the first room out of many, but corruption has started to eat away at my party because I hadn't been resting in a safe place for quite a while before entering. Yes... bad planning, but I didn't intend the cave to take many days to complete
  9. The burden is not to me to explain why I don't want to give away my gaming habits online, the burden is on EA to prove there is a need for me to be hooked up on the internet constantly when playing their games. (edit: I know it's because it's profitable for them and detrimental for me) On a more positive note https://www.gog.com/en/game/warhammer_40000_mechanicus_omnissiah_edition Warhammer 40k Mechanicus is 75% off at the moment
  10. If nothing else, I was completely put off by the "always online" requirement for a f***ing single player game. EA isn't getting any more money from me until they (maybe) drop that requirement in their games (unlikely as the seem to be in bed with their micro transactions).
  11. It also threatens a number of western software developers who set up shop in Ukraine instead, to reduce the cost of development (I know some of them). The Baltic countries are (or were, 5 years ago) popular for this purpose too.
  12. It's just his way of framing SJW for anything he perceives as bad (Association fallacy - Wikipedia). It's better to support and praise a government that sponsors Al Qaida than one that sponsors Hamas after all. Never mind that AQ has a lot more kill stickers with British lives to put on their car windows. Outrage over realpolitik is reserved for those dastardly countries that does it, when they are not somebody we are dependent on.
  13. Yes. Yes. Yes. Hehe Did delete a lot of files, including all cookies (while browser was closed) and restarted my pc. Same result. Just this one site is messed up in FireFox. Google was no help, because it assumes the existence of a usersomething.css in the AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Somelinkicant remember folder and no such file exists Using Edge now just for Obsidian forums... yeah, time for all the bad living on the edge puns
  14. An example of what my post above looks like for me on my desktop (with a font that is like 2/3 of the normal size font): Edit: I suspect it's a firefox thing, as it works normally in Edge. But I have no idea how it ended up this way, so a bit lost where to search for site specific settings in firefox
  15. I seem to have messed up my Obsidian forum settings/view on my desktop pc (at least in FireFox). It works fine on my phone and my work laptop, so I know it's just a local thing on that browser/pc. The text font is *tiny* and black and effectively impossible to read on the default dark grey background. Anyone out there got any idea what I could have touched/clicked/changed ???
  16. English translation: "He is guilty as hell, but we need their oil"
  17. As a foreigner, I get the impression the US food industry puts copious quantities of corn syrup in *everything* (both food and drinks). Might explain why some things are described as "bland", if it tastes like everything else Trying to expand my horizon a bit when it comes to red wines. I've been a Shiraz fanboy for two decades (I love the strong, spicy flavour), but I'm sure there are other good grapes out there. I've just no idea which ones
  18. Following advice, I changed to using greataxes for now. I can always (hopefully) switch back to greatsword later. Sadly my avatar no longer matches the portrait picture. I wonder if there is a way to use some of all those IWD1+2 portrait pictures (absolutely loved those). I'll have a to check what's required. I'm sure I saw a Portrait folder somewhere in the installation directory. Gave Finnean to Sosiel for now, as it was definitely an upgrade to his old, non enchanted glaive. Edit: It looks like most of my bonus damage was coming from sneak attacks anyway, rather than crits. I may have a word with Destna and Calistria, to see if either of them offers a better deal on RNG outcomes Edit2: I'm tempted to create a "branch" save, just to try out how my barbarian looks with that scythe I've been hanging on to for a long time. Probably either very comical or very cool. Maybe both. Probably something I'll keep in mind for a subsequent run (looking at the Lich path)
  19. I still have a long way to go before I get to chapter 5. I'm only at the very beginning at chapter 3, haven't even left Drezen with my party yet, trying to figure out what the 3 councils do (the logistics council, the diplomatic council and the secret council... with their door inside the closet in my bed room. I wondered why they didn't just place the entrance in a rabbit hole under my bed Most of the writing I would call "Ok". Doesn't win any prizes, but is also not cringe worthy and I do more often than not actually read the books and notes I find (I suspect I'm so going to skip that part in my next game, but I do find them interesting enough to give at least one read). I do appreciate the odd humour in some of the writing. As for character writing... I'm no expert and I only just found the last two party members (there may be more, but the fallen succubus and Greybor the dwarven assassin were the last additions). Of the ones I spent time with, most are again Ok. Nothing that makes me think it's bad. Video game characters are a bit tricky to give personality I've understood. Daeran is Norman Bates (in that his mother was important to him, not necessarily cruel to him) and Camellia (the girl with the masked alignment) grew up in a fancy home and her own children's room was full of blood stains and torture implements, so I suspect she has some exotic hobbies, hence the "unimportant" amulet that masks her true alignment (I'm guessing something like chaotic evil with a penchant for tearing off the wings of fairies). For me, the two interesting ones so far were Regill as the over the top practical incarnation from PS:T and Ember, because she reminds (unfortunately) of a girl I knew in real life many years ago (she wasn't burned at the stake by a mob, but she got raped repeatedly by her father growing up, which leaves a similar kind of scars on the soul and her attitude is the spitting image of said girl, a very uncanny kind of recognition)
  20. Speaking of Biden, he seems to think enough is enough and there is no reason for the US to become increasingly dependent on Chinese chip manufacturing https://www.bbc.com/news/62803224
  21. Mass Effect Legendary Edition is 59% off on steam at the moment. Just not sure it's worth getting if you have all 3 games and their DLC's already?
  22. @Gromnir I often go with "rule o' kewl" (heck, it's why my first character was inspired entirely by one of the portrait pictures, including weapon choice), but I'm also beset by a pathological curiosity, so would love to hear a few highlights. If just to get an idea of what exists (without spoiling too much by digging through some wiki page, which I presume exists). Stuff that I suppose I may discover some of, given enough time and play throughs, but alas, the curiosity that more than once landed me in hospital since childhood is ever present
  23. To be honest, I was somewhat disappointed in the old Warhammer: Age of Reckoning. It was a pvp only game. No story, no "missions", no nothing. Just grinding and fighting pvp battles. I am biased though, as the thing I love the most about Games Workshops franchises is the lore of the setting(s). WAR also made the cardinal sin (for a pvp only game) of having a really bad combat system.
