  1. Still playing X-Com2: Terror from the Deep Gathering enough courage to assault the first of three discovered alien bases  Somewhere, deep down in my mind I just dread doing that. Memories from a time long ago when playing it tells me that it's going to be hard the first couple of times... Endless lobstermen, floating brains, enemy blast launchers. My poor aquanauts :'(
  2. Been there, done that. Female Nosferatu are hot
  3. Hanging
  4. You would love Singapore They have the death penalty for carrying firearms.
  5. It's still better than the new trilogy ^_^
  6. Maybe it's spamming on behalf of youtube?
  7. The last terror mission I tried I moved my first soldier to the top of the ramp and before he could do anything there was a grenade inside my ship. That was a horrible, horrible mission. It happens on occasion. The real fun starts once you get the "blast" thing with programmable flight patterns. You can literally level the entire area with the ground and remove any walls they might be hiding behind. It is also nice for making new entrancens in alien UFO's if there isn't enough doors already.
  8. It's a pain, yes But usually, equipping the first guys out of the plane with a flare or two helps. Throw the in a pattern around your insertion area to light up the place and then move the rest of your team out, hugging whatever cover you can find. I've tried to use motion trackers, but in the end, I just team up my men in pairs or trios and clear out an area at a time. Edit: If in doubt, throw handgrenades over a few rooftops and through windows first. The odd civilian casualty is inconsequential.
  9. X-Com2: Terror from the deep Grrr!... I had forgotten how much I hate lobster men. And I can't field any guys with sufficient psi powers yet to force them to fight against each other. USA and Japan has withdrawn from the project and I'm threatened with bankruptcy if I don't bring my debt below 2 million before next month. This game really does seem harder than the first one. (xcom apocalypse is still my favourite though)
  10. Except that pasta and antipasti frequently meet, given that antipasti (or antipasto) is Italian for Hors d'
  11. Anything you can do about that one? Newer/better drivers available for your card?
  12. Pessimist or no, I just can't imagine the Fallout "feel" recreated on the Oblivion engine... It's like opposites that meet, matter - antimatter, pasta - antipasta etc. :'(
  13. And only 156 issues (of minor or less severity) left, an alltime low  Give those beta testers a good kick and make them run faster
  14. I can't even be bothered to look those things up on google to see what it is
  15. They are called "Security Contractors". A flattering name for mercenaries and hired killers Check the "Soldier of Fortune" magazine...
  16. The T1000 corporation...
  17. ^_^ Edit: Iirc, you get xp points for it.
  18. Are you using the hi-res textures? Nope. Unless some are included in the 1.03 patch. The GFX card on the computer I'm using could be the problem but it never gave me any problem before. I don't think it has all the features of normal gaming card like shaders and stuff. But I can still run Oblivion and pretty mcuh everything else. I don't know, it's wierd. It was just because you mentioned that it ruined your saved games. I remember someone, although not exactly who, hinted at a link between the corrupt save feature and running with highres textures
  19. You and Hades/Visc/Sand/Whatever should start a support group where you cold talk about that particular awful experience :D
  20. Are you using the hi-res textures?
  21. I'm sure there must be laws to protect people against that gunk in other countries
  22. It's a lost cause, like fighting dust on your monitor... When I got a floppy drive for my C64, I thought I could have all the programs in the world on one floppy (later on a doublesided floppy when I found out to hack the disks with a small scissor)... When I got an Amiga, I thought I could have all the software in the world on those humongous 1.7Mb floppy disks... When I got a 100mb hd for my Amiga I thought I could have all the software for not only the amiga, but for my pc and c64 emulator in the world on my hd... When I got a pc with a 200mb hd, I thought I could at least have Windows and a few programs... When I got a pc with 300gb I thought I could have all the software I would ever need on it... My current WIP, I intend to equip with 4x500gb drives, it might just be able to squeeze Windows Vista in there... meh, nevermind. Morale is, will I ever learn? You can never have too much disk space.
  23. He may be good looking but he's not pretty like a Toreador. What do I know
  24. I'm not even going to try to stick the correct "genre" labels on my tastes... German music: Accept, Scorpions, Dorothee Pesh, Rammstein. UK music: Beatles, Iron Maiden, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Black Sabbath, Sisters of Mercy, The Cult, Portishead, Deep Purple, old Fleetwood Mac, Mike Oldfield. US music: Madonna, Kiss, WASP, Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, new Fleetwood Mac. Misc others: Loreena McKennitt, Clannad, Gregorian music, Cruachan, Brahms, The Russian Red Army Choir, Vaya Con Dios. And probably 50 more that I can't be bothered to try to categorise. The UK bands do seem to take up a disproportinate space in my CD collection
