  1. You’re a much more tolerant person than I am three failed attempts at getting through the games intro and now I just can’t be bothered. The most i uninteresting part of the first games was for me the church vs mages thing
  2. Maybe that German guy is not a bad poker player?... https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-64391272 US President Joe Biden's administration is expected to announce plans to send at least 30 M1 Abrams tanks. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has also reportedly decided to send at least 14 Leopard 2 tanks. Russia's ambassador to the US blasted the news as "another blatant provocation".
  3. My only known issue at this moment is, the email verification has to take place on the same computer as the browser for some reason. On my work PC, I cleared out all Obsidian cookies and then it wanted me to log in again. So far so good. Pick log in with existing Obsidian ID. Use my Authenticator. So far so good. Then it wants me to click on an emailed link to verify the provided email address. So far... not so good. It doesn't seem to work for me, as my private email is not accessible on my work PC. I can verify the link on my phone and my personal PC and those browsers can then log in no problem. But it leaves out the use of any device that doesn't have access to your own email I.e. you can only log in on a PC where you also have your email available.
  4. I'm sure there is a subtle but important difference between "Occupational Forces" and "Occupation Forces"
  5. Sadly, the Swedish news article I had is no more. Google is useless as it will either give you the Russian version or the Iranian corroboration of the Russian statements. What was interesting about the original news report was, that Swedish investigators announced they had found conclusive evidence, identifying who was behind it and it was to be announced at a follow up press conference.... then complete radio silence and trying to kill off the subject through prolonged silence. My assumption is (because it's just an assumption), that the forensic evidence found was uncomfortable and best not shared with the public. Of course, it could be sabotage performed by disgruntled Danish pearl divers whipped into a frenzy by Greenpeace or Norwegian divers trying to stop the competition to their oil fields in the North Sea. Or some western country blew up the pipeline to force Germanys hand. Only the UK and France has the capability to do such an operation and France hasn't successfully blown up anything naval related since 'Rainbow Warrior' in Auckland harbour in 1985 (an act of state terrorism that is best forgotten... at least according to France). Hence why I believe the UK to be behind it (it sure as heck makes no sense for Russia to do it, as it was one of the few means of leverage they had and all they have to do is shut off the valve)
  6. So... if no contact within the next 48 hours, send a search and rescue team?
  7. After the UK military blew up the Nord Stream 2 gas line, Russia doesn't really have any squeeze on Germany other than the threat of total nuclear war, in case any of those tanks ever fires a shell across the Russian border (intentional, accidental or imagined)... There is also that thing about Germany's past that still plays a significant role for their arms export and German military engagements outside its borders. Edit: Japan is quite similar in that regard iirc
  8. Wherever you are @Guard Dog, I hope you're busy enjoying the more positive sides of life rather than raging against the establishment It's not a secret, that I'm no fan of religious institutions, but sometimes you hear about people that are sounds like they are "good people" despite being religious. Or maybe they listen more to the ethics of their religion than they listen to the people claiming to speak on behalf of said religion. Anyway, enough of my own ranting https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-64354823 His family described him as a humble, God-loving man, who would often send handwritten get-well cards and share vegetables from his garden with neighbours. But even his family didn't know one big secret. Every month, for nearly a decade, Mr Childress donated $100 (£80) to the local pharmacy for anyone who couldn't afford to pay for a prescription. Over the years, he gave nearly $12,000 to the community, but his generosity came with one condition: don't tell anyone. ... He passed away at the age of 80, after having saved both lives and quality of life of an unknown number of people through his (secret) generosity. The world needs more of his kind
  9. My Galaxy friends list is empty, as is my Origin list. I have 5 friends on my Steam list, but I rarely play Steam games these days. The odd game of Killing Floor 2 is about it. The Pathfinder and a number of the Games Workshop games are on Galaxy (and the old Bioware titles I play on Origin)
  10. I used to have a lot of nightmares as a young man. Most of them involving sepia/grey coloured scenery (covered in mist with little visibility) wailing alarm sirens and knowledge of impending nuclear strikes. I guess i eventually got used to the world I lived in and stopped thinking about the future. At some point I suppose I just stopped dreaming at all (I’m obviously still dreaming or my brain would self destruct) but the last 30 years I only remember two dreams/nightmares
  11. Sounds like a Trump rally

  13. The obituary thread...
  14. Death and taxes... always gets you. Even this thread is not exempt More endings this way
  15. Omg, now I feel like watching my old Zardoz dvd again!
  16. I watched an episode of something called Lycoris Recoil (I think). It was hilarious No idea if I'm going to watch more of it, but I did get a good laugh out of it. Just not sure if it keeps up.
  17. The worldwide chip shortage is really hurting Australia by now... https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-01-18/potato-shortage-fish-chips-wa-south-west-margaret-river/101869160 Several large grocery chains have introduced rationing on frozen chips (only so many bags per customer) As for why the potato's have abandoned Australia, it's weather related. Third La Nina year in a row (something unprecedented) means the climate has been generally colder than usual for farmers. I'm currently just waiting for a replacement plastic card to arrive from the bank, as I had to get my old card blocked asap Saturday morning. Woke up to a string of sms OTP requests from Visa, as someone was using my card details to try to transfer thousands of dollars overseas (one of those less known companies that specializes in transferring money fast to countries like Nigeria etc.). No idea about the specifics of how they got the info, but I have a few suspicions. Two major data leaks by large corporations both had me and my data amongst what was leaked. I knew something was up a couple of weeks ago when I got a string of sms OTP requests from EBAY, someone trying to change my account details (and I knew it wasn't me). After receiving 20 messages or so within a time span of 10 minutes, I had changed my password and 3 minutes later, the flood of OTP requests stopped, You apparently didn't need OTP to log in, only to do certain things. I didn't have any card details stored on my old EBAY account though. The only shady organization that had those were PayPal, because in a moment of insanity I made the mistake of storing my CC info on my old PayPal account and PayPal would not let me delete the info. I even contacted their support and they told me it was not a bad design decision, you are allowed to add payment methods to your PayPal account, but not allowed to remove them again. This is PayPal Australia btw, I'm fairly sure that wouldn't fly in any country in the EU jurisdiction. Sadly Australia is still a third world country where banks have too much power, even the unregulated ones. That being said, I still think those two significant (we are talking about 5+ million Australians) data leak is the source of my headache. Of course I got my card cancelled before I had made the sensible move to get some cash from an ATM first, so that left me all week with $0.75 in my wallet Went to the bank today, got some cash and waiting impatiently for the replacement card to arrive so I can get it activated. I do have some utility bills and subscriptions (including charity donations) that gets paid monthly using my Visa card (for which i now need to remember to contact and change the card details when I get it) Yeah, lots of text and brackets. Lets see what the forum software says to that after the fixes
  18. It's "just" a guy drawing sketches (of pretty girls among other things). I watched a few more besides this one and I found it just incredible, how he can sketch things out freehand with a pencil on piece of paper. Then add ink drawings on top of it (again, freehand drawing) and finally scan the black and white art for colorizing in a piece of software, using a Wacom tablet edit: for those who like this kind of art, I would recommend watching a few more of his videos
  19. Watched episode 1-5 so far. Hilarious I can't binge watch it, but sneaking in an episode or two when stopping by Youtube is great. Will definitely watch more episodes of it
  20. Who cares about difficulty curves... this game needs more of Nocticulas curves
  21. While the original Comic Bakery loader had some excellent music, I do like what Instant Remedy did with the song (play it loud!)...
  22. Almost finished painting first third of my Veteran Guardsmen Kill Team (6 out of 18). Still need to paint bases and weapons though. A slow and grueling affair, as I make up the colour scheme as I work my way through the different parts of the miniatures. Hopefully the remaining two batches of 6 each will only take a fraction of the time, as all the decision making and redoing/repainting will be done As for why 18 when a Death Korps of Krieg team is nominally 10, it's because options (and a choice between strategic support options, one of which allows me to field another 4 guys on the battlefield) Kill Team trailer from Games Workshop Edit: Warning, it's Warhammer 40k, i.e. violent and gory
